MISS JANE Belize City: Thursday 13th December 2018 Belizean icon and trailblazer in the credit union movement, Dr. Jane Ellen Usher, passed away at 5:05 a.m. on Wednesday December 12th, in the comfort of her home and in the presence of her family, the centenarian took her last breath at 101 years old. Her name became synonymous with HRCU. She was transferred from SJC to HRCU in 1954 and at that time the assets would have been around $60,000.00. Today the assets are approaching $600 million for over 57,000 members. On Wednesday, Chairman of the People’s United Party (PUP) and her grandson, Henry Usher, reflected on her life and accomplishments at the PUP headquarters in Belize City. He recalled that in 1977, her brother George Price, asked her to run in the Pickstock division for the People’s United Party, and she readily agreed so that he could continue his march to indepen-
