BARROW BRUK BELIZE

…APPOINTS MINISTER OF BEGGING Belize City, August 10, 2016 By now all Belizeans know that Belize is in serious economic trouble and sinking deeper into the financial gutter. Things are so dread for the country that the Barrow Administration this week appointed an official Minister of Begging in the person of Dr. Carla Barnett. Dr. Barnett’s sole objective as a Minister will be to reach out to international institutions and, using the damage by Hurricane Earl last week, to beg for funds. The Barrow Administration must resort to begging since they have squandered away Government resources and whatever funding has been accessed through the kind support of friends, such as those from the Petrocaribe program. In that case, some $325 million fizzled into thin air over the last four years. Some $45 million alone was wasted away in elections frenzy, and will never be recovered nor accounted for.

The Petrocaribe monies were used for all sorts of unnecessary elections gimmicks, including Mother’s Day cheer, Christmas ham and turkey cheer, and even Pibil and tacos cheer. Thanks to the secret Miami Agreement signed by Barrow and his law partner Rodwell Williams, Belize will even have to have to ‘borrow’ to pay Mr. Ashcroft for an ill-advised so called Nationalization and subsequent take-over of Belize Telemedia Limited, which has cost a whopping $557 million dollars. This will take us some 50 plus years to repay, while our economy will be under serious pressure. Prime Minister Barrow is now forced to go against a political pledge to introduce a ceiling on borrowing, by raising the cap on the issuance of Treasury Notes by the Central Bank, at the next House of Representatives meeting.
