ESTALACTITA EXTRUDED CERAMIC FAÇADE ELEMENT
By definition
*Estalactita is “An elongated and generally pointed calcareous formation hanging from the ceiling of some natural caves; it is formed by the evaporation of carbonated water in natural caves”. Stalactite is a vertical slat to be placed hanging on facades. They are intended for west-facing facades to avoid solar impact in the afternoon hours.

Estalactita is a piece that arises from the idea of understanding the façade of a building as a single object, preventing the eye from perceiving the height and the number of floors it could have.
The verticality of the piece manages to blur the horizontal lines created by slabs and window frames, as well as repetitive and boring modulations. The piece, in addition to varying in height from the anchor, allows the variation of its placement. Thus creating infinite possibilities of combinations between them. Referring again to the countless superimpositions of stalactites found in nature.
The piece allows the placement of pigments on one of its faces, to create a visual effect for the viewer walking along the roadway. Visually, the facade to which the Stalactite piece is applied immediately acquires a unique dynamism.
The manufacturing process of the Estalactita piece takes place in two stages. The first is the extrusion of the piece in all its length, the second is a cut in its anchor depending on the heights required for the composition of the façade.
