THRIVING STUDENTS

Embarking on an update of a strategic plan creates a wonderful opportunity to assess the past, take stock of the present, and excitedly plan for the future.

This new plan is rooted in a tremendous amount of feedback from the school community. Thanks to a number of surveys and very impactful in-person focus groups, we learned what makes Lake Tahoe School so special: an unabashed love of learning. This is made possible by engaged and caring faculty and staff, curious learners, and families that make community a priority.

Since the last plan was written, a lot has changed for our school. Most notably, we have grown from 135 students to over 200. And thanks to the exceptional generosity of David and Cheryl Duffield and many other benefactors, our financial resources are stronger than ever.

The school is now in a position to thrive. This plan lays out how we will do just that.

In each of the four pillars we identify where the focus of the school will be for the next five years: Thriving Students, Thriving Faculty, Thriving Community, and Thriving Foundation.

As with all good plans, this is a framework for the road ahead and what we expect to accomplish for the next five years. If COVID taught us anything, it is the importance of being flexible and adaptable as needed. This plan too is meant to be adjusted and adaptable as required by current events.

Thank you to everyone who provided important and insightful input into this plan. We look forward to seeing it come to life over the next five years.
