OUR ASD SERVICES All our staff teams are on site 24-hours a day and have been extensively trained and upskilled to support service users with specific diagnoses. Supported by in-house MDT teams of Psychologists and Therapists, Ocean Community Services has homes specifically designed to meet the needs of service users with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

It enjoys the peace and quiet of the country but with the benefit of a wide range of city facilities.

In a community-based setting south of Cardiff, Beech House aims to develop independence and life skills through our specialist Building Better Lives model of care.

The home is designed to accommodate ten people, with eight bedrooms and two separated apartments all with en-suite facilities. The home has some specialist features including spacious communal areas, fobbed access, solid flooring and walls, and in-built blinds are amongst the many features which make it safe and secure environment to support those who may display behaviours that challenge. The house is managed by a team of staff all of whom have had specialist training to understand the needs of individuals with autistic conditions.

Designed to replicate a family home, the people we support each have their own bedroom and en-suite plus a range of communal facilities which aim to encourage the development of independent living skills. This purpose-built residential home has been designed specifically for people with a range of complex needs.

Service users engage in a range of activities such as arts, crafts, games and cookery sessions, all of which can be adapted for low-stimulus needs. In addition, we are able to provide individualised sensory diet and have a fitness instructor that visits the home.

CHERRY TREE HOUSE, BRISTOL PATIENT INFO:

Cherry Tree House is located on the outskirts of Bristol. It offers 24-hour residential social care and support for men and women with Learning Disability, Challenging Behaviours, Autistic Spectrum Condition and Physical Health Needs. Cherry Tree Houses’ person-centred model of care is a synthesis of positive behavioural support, sensory integration approaches and the recovery model. The home aspires to ensure that each service user has a high quality of life as a valued member of their community. Cherry Tree House provides excellent community access, accessing local shops, cafes, GP practice, libraries, leisure centres and parks, as well as specialist facilities such as Sensory Heaven and pet therapy.

Service users at Cherry Tree House all have large ensuite bedrooms, with some including small kitchenettes and sofas to give a studio feel. This provides the ideal conditions for individuals who require a low stimulus environment or wish to engage in hobbies and interests on their own. Adjacent to Cherry Tree House is a large bungalow which has two separate one-bedroom bespoke flats where individual service users have their own front door and independence. The bungalow was specifically designed for service users who can present considerable challenges to their environment and who again may prefer a low stimulus option rather than socialising in the main home.
