Our mission is to engage our clients and communities, to design meaningful places, with proven results that transform.

On May 1, 1963, in Charleston, South Carolina, Frank Lucas rented a one-room office in the Darlington Apartments. Newly licensed and less than a month into his architectural career, without even a certificate in hand, he hung a simple sign on a pegboard screen in front of a door-turned-drafting table. With just $600, no insurance, a young family, and a great deal of ambition, trust, and hope, “Frank Lucas, Architect” was officially open for business.

Today, LS3P stands as one of the region’s leading architectural firms. Strategically and uniquely positioned, we deliver client services that are both globally informed and locally grounded. With the collective strength of our 12 offices, we offer the depth and expertise of a large firm while maintaining a personalized approach for every client. At our core, we are a design firm, dedicated to engaging people in the process of architecture to create outstanding places to learn, live, work, heal, and serve.

our mission, vision, and values drive our practice forward

The significance of our values, vision, and mission extends far beyond the words. Unified language is important. However, even more valuable is our shared understanding of the tenets which are critical to our collective success. These foundational ideals define who we are, what we do and how we do it. Each LS3P team member is a critical representative of our firm, and each is empowered to implement our vision, values, and mission, each day.

Together, our vision, values, and mission become the foundation for our work, provide direction for our future, and structure our daily efforts towards collaboration, community, and a higher level of achievement.
