Welcome to the third edition and the New Year issue of the Puzzle Hobby Magazine.

This month we had a opportunity to do an email interview with lifelong Artist, Greg Giordano. His experience stems from a family passionate in the art world. To this day, he has produced some of the most beautiful wildlife scenes found in jigsaw puzzles and many other forms.

We've located a relatively new puzzle company.

The owners of WerkShoppe have an extensive history which they bring to the marketplace so they have become successful very fast.

Power of the Puzzle This is the thrill of what I do! Meeting a person like Ronnie is a highlight for me because it is one more person that has reached out to me who reveals the 'effects' of what jigsaw puzzles can do for people. For most 'newbies', the experience of jigsaw puzzling is not acknowledged much other than it is a very fun hobby. For others, like Ronnie's discovery, it comes across almost magical. She has given us permission to share her story. This is someone who had never tried a puzzle during her life and with a little boost from a friend, she fell into the passion and benefits of this great hobby. Here's what she said...

It’s truly a pleasure to chat with you and share my (very brief) personal experience with puzzling.

I am 65 years old and have many hobbies but had never done a puzzle in my life (until a few weeks ago).

My neighbour/ friend had one on her table a few weeks ago and asked me if I wanted to try and do it with her. It was a 500 piece, New Yorker magazine cover, cardboard puzzle already started by her. I was a bit intimidated and almost felt “on the spot” but said “sure”.

She worked on one side of the puzzle and I worked the other and it was quiet in the room.

Boy!..did I get into it. We were doing it about an hour together and then changed sides a few times and continued.

Later that evening I asked her when she might be doing it again and asked if I could come back.

This went on for a few evenings (snacks included) until the puzzle was completed.

She was so 'cute', that when there was just one final piece left she said “you do the honours”. I was SO hooked, but something happened as well.

A few things actually.

I ride my Peloton daily and I craft but part of my day has to include doing a puzzle.

Power of the Puzzle I fell into a wooden puzzle group on Facebook and started ordering wooden puzzles, my first being one from Stave really? I did not know this was considered the Rolls Royce of puzzling.

In addition, I ordered a Wentworth puzzle. And every day I was puzzling. I ordered Liberty, BCB, and Mosaic too.

Here is the cool part for me. I am somewhat, (LOL) high energy, can be hyper and seldom sit still. Puzzling is teaching me patience, to be still and literally in the moment. As a loyal, long time yogi and someone who meditates nothing is more relaxing for me than doing a puzzle. My mind literally goes empty. I love it!

I am now getting involved in the puzzle community and making friends too. To be 65 years old and find a new passion is a blessing and I hear it’s great for brain health too.

Love to tell the universe what the puzzle process has done for me. Imagine doing an activity that brings you joy and your mind is completely still? Puzzling does this for me!

Having established the layout, it then turned out to be 5 different little puzzles for me.

After the initial sort was completed I took each section and built the fireworks according to color patterns, starting with the largest of areas and working my way through the rest.

As you can see this Fireworks Symphony puzzle comes color-coded on the back.

There was no need to lay out the pieces once they were sorted according to the color piles.

Announcing the 2022 Puzzle Parley, the sixteenth in-person parley since 1994!

After the long Covid-19 hiatus, the popular in-person Puzzle Parley will return the weekend of July 22-24, 2022 in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, just 65 miles west of Boston. Please save the date and plan to join us to share the latest in puzzle crafting, collecting, and history.

The puzzle-filled weekend will include some old favorites, such as the Pagey Elliott Puzzle Exchange (for puzzle crafters), the Cutters' round-table discussion now including both scroll cut and laser cut puzzles, the Best in Show, Yankee Swap, and evenings assembling puzzles into the wee hours with new and old friends.

There will be presentations by puzzle historians, collectors, and cutters as well as cutting workshops and opportunities to meet some of today’s most innovative modern puzzle crafters.

New and antique puzzles will be on sale. There will even be a speed contest on Saturday evening sponsored and run by Artifact Puzzles to test your puzzle assembly skills.

Cobble Hill Puzzle Company VIP I approached Tammi back in 2016 and had asked her if she would be interested in being a VIP- Very Important Puzzler for the Cobble Hill Puzzle Company. She would assemble and review the Rainbow Collection, seven puzzles in total. Tammi was delighted to take on the challenge. She was also gracious enough to send us the following photos and comments about her puzzle adventures. Tammi included a few photos of her furry friends as well!!

My name is Tammi Parnell and I live in the beautiful Annapolis Valley, in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada. I am 42 years old and have been doing puzzles since I was 2 years old! My obsession and addiction to jigsaw puzzles has grown even more as an adult and I find them very good for calming anxiety and very enjoyable as well.

My other hobbies include trips to local beaches to collect beautiful rocks, especially agate, which is my favorite; and spending time with my family and friends. I am a married mother of 2 and also have 3 cats and a dog. I work full time at an animal hospital and adore animals, but especially cats!

My cats are my "helpers", but mostly sleep in the puzzle box or on the pieces as I work around them.

Two of the seven Cobble Hill Rainbow Collection series puzzles and Tammi's 'furry puzzle helper' I cannot answer how many Cobble Hill puzzles I have assembled to date, as I have not kept track over the years, but definitely too many to count!!! It would be well over a hundred for sure!!! (Perhaps closer to 200??? Really not sure.)

I do not do reviews for other puzzle companies; only for Cobble Hill.

I have continued to be a

Cobble Hill VIP over the years and the very generous Linda Maxwell, who runs the program, has continued to be positively encouraging of my puzzle activity and puzzle reviews.

Cobble Hill continues to be my favorite puzzle company and I absolutely love their beautiful and unique puzzle images! I am also proud that the company is Canadian, as I am a proud Canadian too!

I tend to buy puzzles quicker than I can do them and have a rather large collection of approximately 1000 puzzles which I am slowly working on selling individually as I assemble them. (I buy too many per year to count or keep track of). I especially enjoy puzzle images with bright colors and anything rainbow!

I love cat puzzles and food and candy puzzles and

teacup/teapot/kettle puzzles and collage puzzles and puzzles featuring hobbies, like knitting and sewing and yarn. I do not enjoy puzzles with bland colors or scenery.

My favorite puzzle brands include Cobble Hill Puzzles and Ravensburger, but I also enjoy many, many other brands and am more drawn to the puzzle image than the brand. I enjoy puzzles that are well made, with thick pieces and funny shapes, as opposed to the standard grid-cut piece shapes and I do not like thin pieces or loose-fitting pieces

When it comes to assembling a puzzle, there are no rules!

Some people sort pieces and some people don't.

Everyone does things differently and every way of doing things is okay because there is no wrong way to do it

Some people insist on not looking at the box cover, but I rely on the puzzle image on either the box cover or an included poster to help.

Some people start with edge pieces and some people don't.

There is no right or wrong way.

Cobble Hill Puzzle Company VIP My typical approach while solving puzzles is to sort the pieces first. I sort out the edge pieces and I sort out anything that looks like a part of the puzzle that will go together, like similar colors or pieces of an object in the image.

After I have done my sorting, I start to piece things together.

I fully feel that a puzzle should be enjoyable and relaxing and fun! If I am trying to work on a puzzle and it is just absolutely not fun and feels more like a chore, then it goes back in the box! Puzzles are meant to be enjoyed.

I don't really know how I got into puzzling, I just know that I started at a very young age and have always enjoyed them very much throughout my life.

My recommended type of puzzles to try out are literally any and all!!! I have several different puzzle company/brands that I personally love and people should try as many different companies/brands as they can to learn what they truly like.

There is no shortage of images available and I love that puzzles keep being produced in new, beautiful, exciting images with something for everyone! As soon as I see a puzzle (image) that I "MUST HAVE", I order it immediately. I guess it is similar to loving a piece of artwork. The image is what draws me in and gets my attention. And having that puzzle (image) brings me joy and happiness, like a collector of anything probably also feels after acquiring the desired item for their collection.

My future puzzle plans include finding more time to do puzzles, because they bring me joy and happiness and peace in this chaotic, stressful world and to one day have a puzzle room of my own to be able to organize and display my lovely puzzles on shelves and keep my favorites for years to come.

Artist of the Month Greg Giordano When it comes to jigsaw puzzles, many puzzlers do not pay much attention to the artist, yours truly included. However, the more puzzles you do, you may tend to start favouring Artists like I did. The following is an in depth look at how this Artist's life gravitated towards a successful career designing jigsaw puzzle images among other forms of art. Special thanks to Greg Giordano for sharing his side of jigsaw puzzles through an email interview. Let's begin.

Q. For our Readers, which state do you live in?

I live in Connecticut.

Q. Where did you grow up?

I grew up in New York City. I would often go to the Central Park Zoo with my father and brother, who were/are both artists and in the Art Licensing industry. There, we would sketch and observe animals, and enjoy time with one another.

Q. How did you become interested in art licensing to jigsaw puzzles in the first place?

My father, Joe Giordano, was an artist, and began working in the Art Licensing industry in the 1980s. As a result, I was surrounded by art at a young age, and was also able to experience the industry firsthand. When I began in the Art Licensing industry almost 25 years ago, I developed relationships with various manufacturers and Licensees, and the jigsaw puzzle category became a natural evolution for my artwork.

Q. What kind of education do you have that gives you the abilities to be so creative in your artwork?

I attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City, and throughout my career as an artist, various art workshops throughout the country.

Q. What did you do for a living before you decided to get into art licensing?

I’ve always been an artist, but before I was involved in Art Licensing, I was a wildlife painter.

I painted and sold my original paintings throughout the United States and Canada.

Q. Do you travel a lot and which images were created as a result of your travels?

I enjoy traveling, especially to the American West. Many of my wildlife images were created using photographs I took on these trips. More recently, my family and I have been traveling to Coastal Maine. These trips to Maine inspired a recent puzzle image I created, “Lobster Shack” (image above). I find that I’m also able to gather a lot of inspiration from the sights I see locally in the Northeast.

Q. Who were/are your biggest influences and inspirations in the art licensing world?

I have to say that my father has been my biggest influence. I also find the works of contemporary western and wildlife artists to be very inspiring.

Q. Are you from an artistic family background?

My father, Joe Giordano, started in the Art Licensing industry in the early 1980s. My brother Robert Giordano of Giordano Studios has been involved in Art Licensing for over 30 years.

Q. How does photography enter into your work?

When I started in Art Licensing over 25 years ago, I was hand-painting all of my art and creating designs from those paintings. As technology advanced, I found myself creating images digitally. Initially, there was a combination of hand painting and photography, but now, almost all of the images I create are done digitally, and exclusively use photographic materials and references.

Q. Where do you get all the photos you use in your designs?

Most of the photographs that I use in my designs I’ve taken myself, but when necessary, I will purchase photos from various stock agencies.

Q. What products other than jigsaw puzzles, have you licensed your artwork to?

I currently work with almost 80 licensees globally, and while puzzles are probably one of my most popular categories, my designs have also been licensed for various home accents, including blankets, wall décor, garden flags, tin signs, and pillows. Additionally, my art has been licensed for many everyday products, such as calendars, bookmarks, t-shirts, mugs, greeting cards and other stationery products.

Q. Have you always identified yourself as an artist?

While I was also very involved in sports when I was younger, art has always been a huge part of my life, so yes, I feel that I’ve always identified as an artist.

Artist of the Month Greg Giordano Q. What is the average length of time it takes for you to create one image?

Generally, a puzzle image takes around 2 to 3 weeks to complete. More simple artwork with less components, like the designs I create for greeting cards or flags, take less time.

Q. Do you know how many puzzle images you have licensed over the years?

I currently work with 26 puzzle licensees, and my puzzles are sold in over 30 countries worldwide, as well as digitally. I’ve created puzzle designs for co-branded licensing programs with John Deere and Farmall tractors, as well as Chevrolet, Dodge, Volkswagen and Ford automotive brands. In my archive of over 600 designs, 200 of them have been licensed as puzzle images.

Q. Out of all your licensed images, do you know which image has sold the most puzzles?

My most successful puzzle image, and actually my most successful image overall, has been “Christmas on the Farm'' . I created this image in 2015, right before the “red truck” trend really exploded, and my timing was just right. This image is currently featured on over 20 different products, including cross-stitch patterns, flags, greeting cards, wall decor, and, of course, puzzles.

Artist of the Month Greg Giordano Q. This is a big ask....do you have ONE favorite?

I currently own a vintage 1966 Chevy pick-up truck, so I have a soft spot for creating puzzle images featuring antique and vintage cars, but I also enjoy trying new subject matters. I’ve recently been exploring creating images focusing on lake and cabin themes, which has been fun to do.

Q. Do you have a specific art studio or do you work from your home?

I have an art studio in my home in Connecticut, and have been fortunate enough to have a lot of great animal visitors in my backyard. In my studio, I surround myself with a lot of reference material, and also collect items representing the artwork I create.

Q. If a person was interested in doing the same work you do, what is the best advice you can give them?

While there is so much I could pass on to others looking to get into the industry, I feel that the most helpful piece of advice I can share is to be very honest with oneself and ask the tough questions, like “will my designs work for products?” and “will my art help a manufacturer sell that product?” Additionally, it’s important for artists to have a unique look, and evaluate whether or not their subject matters or styles have already been represented in the market.

Q. Can you share something personal about yourself to us that is not on your website? Or besides painting, do you have another hobby?

We like to do jigsaw puzzles on our family vacations. I also love to attend flea markets, antique shows and car shows (always with a camera in hand), and enjoy being outside in nature.

I absolutely adore the image of this puzzle, but oh my was it a challenge! Good thing I can be completely stubborn at times, because although I may have wanted to give up on this I never did. I wanted to light it on fire a couple of times, but I wanted to see the finished puzzle even more and I stuck with it. Isn't it gorgeous? It's not your typical puzzle image, and that's part of the draw for me - I gotta be me and I try never to follow the crowd unless they're headed towards someone selling chocolate!

This is a Schmidt puzzle, and usually their quality is excellent. This is the first puzzle of theirs that I've been disappointed with.

The cut of the pieces was less than good, some of the tabs were completely broken off because the part connecting them was so thin. A couple of the pieces weren't broken on the initial sort, but they broke when I picked them up or tried to place them. I don't know the manufacturing process well enough to know what causes this, but it was completely frustrating!

My Puzzle Journal Stacey - Dedicated Puzzle Blogger Add A few broken pieces aside, the rest of the quality was quite good. Thick pieces with a linen finish, excellent fit, and lovely image reproduction.

This puzzle came in a large commemorative tin, so perhaps because it was a special edition it was cut differently than the other Schmidt puzzles I've worked? I can't say for sure.

I knew going in that it would be quite difficult with all that black, but I love the image so much that I really wanted to get it finished. Normally if I'm assembling a puzzle and it feels like work then it isn't fun; I'm supposed to be enjoying myself! But once in a while I refuse to give up because I really want to conquer it - this was one of those times.

The lovely lady in the middle of the image was easy enough to work with all the skin, fishnet stockings and sparkles; it was the curtains behind her that tested me. At the edge of the curtains the black is a little lighter and you can see a pattern, but the rest of them are basically solid black.

Yikes! I sorted the black pieces by shape and counted them (I just wanted to know how much of this puzzle was all black), and almost 400 of the 1000 pieces were completely black. I can't believe I didn't give up!

In the end I'm pleased with myself for finishing, it is such a striking image! It's mostly good quality, but the broken pieces prevent me from recommending this puzzle. It may have been an isolated problem, but this is a quality issue we puzzlers really dislike. If the pieces are broken, the puzzle is broken.

I was recently contacted on PuzzleHobby.com by WerkShoppe to see if I was interested in reviewing one of their products. No problem as that is what we enjoy doing. They let me choose any puzzle so I felt the puzzle titled 'Together We Can' was most appropriate. As I viewed their website, I realized I was discovering a relatively new company. I immediately contacted them for an email interview. Read on to learn about this interesting puzzle business. WerkShoppe is located in CA USA.

1. How did the company arrive at the name WerkShoppe?

Wayne loved the idea of creatives “werkshopping” together to create the artwork for the puzzle collections. It’s a concept that emphasizes community and working together to make beautiful puzzles and other products we may engage in as we grow and build our company.

2. Is there more background on Ann Marie and Wayne?

Ann Marie •40+ year senior management career from Entrepreneurial start-ups to Fortune 500 companies •Co-founded New View Gifts & Accessories creating products for Target, Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, TJX, Ross Stores, etc. in wall décor, photo frames, decorative accessories, etc.

•Brought The Photo Box® and The French Memo Board® to market along with many other new product categories.

•Joined forces with Wayne Hueners and founded Lot 26 Studio in 2008 introducing wall decals and other innovative wall décor formats. In 2012, company was acquired by Artissimo Designs.

WerkShoppe has a creative point-of-view and so we always seek the imagery that supports that. We love working with a wide diversity of artists from all over the world‑it’s what makes our art so special to us.

4. Are your puzzles produced in the USA? Yes! All of our puzzles are printed and produced in the USA. 5. Do you, or will you ship outside of the USA and Canada soon?

We plan on shipping beyond the USA and Canada in the future but we don’t have a solid timeline.

6. I see on the 'About Us' website page it says, quote; "A few years ago...." does that mean the company has established itself to this level since just before COVID? WerkShoppe is just over a year old! We launched right in the middle of the pandemic.

7. Do you have anything new and exciting coming in the future?

Yes! We are constantly adding new puzzles. We have a new 250-piece puzzle kids collection launching later this month.

8. Is there an 'inside scoop' you can share with us that no one knows about; like, do you allow dogs in the workplace or the company is involved in donating-type events?

Lol- we do allow dogs and are adamant about supporting art education and enrichment programs…so yes and yes. We are not ready to share any other inside scoops at this time but stay tuned!

I did my usual sorting routine where I sort the colours in piles while separating out the edge pieces. Then I did a second colour sort as I laid out all the pieces onto the foam boards as I felt this image would be tricky to assemble.

This puzzle comes with a terrific poster which is 8.5' by 11.5". Also, I have included an image for the lid on the container.

As you see on the previous page, the puzzle comes in a tube container and the lid has a 'lift-lip' on the top and bottom of the canister to easily open either end.

It takes about an hour to sort through all the pieces and then lay them out onto the form boards. Next is to decide what the 'plan of attack' will be. I looked closely at the image and decided to start with distinctive colour swatches which were the ladies shirts and any clusters of text that was visible.

I would continue with that pattern of play for all the ladies shirts, hair, glasses and earrings.

After all those colours were completed I continued with the blank faces and skin tones. The image to the right shows my progress.

The finish on this puzzle is similar to other brands which is smooth with no glare.

The pieces fit snugly enough and are not a 'loose cut'. I had convinced myself that this one was going to be testy but to my surprise and delight I made really good time in under 9 hours. Sometimes puzzles will be like that.

Thought I would share my crazy idea. Converted a well built chicken coop into The Puzzle Barn where people can stop and rent puzzles.

Donating a puzzle earns a free rental. Sort of like Blockbuster but instead of movies, you rent puzzles. Self serve, self checkout. Even made the local news here in Western New York.

I am getting people just dropping off/donating puzzles….many not wanting to rent any (or redeem their free rentals). I now can display 121 on the walls with several more stored in the bins on the floor. I have “regulars” now who come every few weeks which is nice.

Inventory is always changing with the donated puzzles. One benefit of starting this….I do not have to buy puzzles myself but I still do . Still fun to check out thrift stores or peruse FB marketplace.

The fee is $1 for under 1000 pieces and $2 for 1000+ pieces. My philosophy is if I already have done a specific puzzle, if it doesn’t get returned, no big deal. I am running out of room.

Rock 'n' Roll Puzzle Review Reviewed by Judithlynn Krusky

When I saw this puzzle, I must have carried it around for about 20 minutes while browsing the store called Brighten Up in Fergus, ON, Canada.

This store carries toys, games, and puzzles for all ages.

We went purposely to this store because I wasn't sure if they had as many puzzles as it shows on their website...

Well I was pleasantly surprised when I ventured further into the back corner of the store. WOW!! A whole section dedicated to puzzlers!!!

I had a tough time picking just one puzzle! They have so many to choose from.

They carry quite a few brands including Cobble Hill, Eurographics, White Mountain, Gibsons, Educa, Wrebbit, and SunsOut. This is a White Mountain 1000 piece 24" x 30" puzzle.

After the border was done , the first image I saw in the box was that of Duane Allman, guitar player for the Allman Brothers Band which just happens to be one of my all time favorite bands. And a turntable!! Does anyone still own one!! I do!!

Also Ed Vedder of Pearl Jam to the right of Duane's head. Oh yea, and the album Hotel California by The Eagles. And David Bowie bottom left lol. Yes, we were naming the bands and musicians all the way along and had such fun putting the pieces together.

Rock 'n' Roll Puzzle Review Ok, one complaint would be the amount of puzzle dust it has. You can see it as soon as you open the the puzzle box. The puzzle pieces are inside a plastic bag so at least the dust is contained within. But when I started to sort out the border pieces the amount of dust was wayyy more than I've ever experienced. Definitely had to wash my hands.

That is my only issue with this puzzle. The images are gorgeous and the pieces lock together and fit snug but not too tight.

We had such a hoot putting this one together that we did it twice lol!!!

Jigsaw Puzzle International Convention

I had a chance to chat with Karine Déry, the CEO/Founder of the JPiC (Jigsaw Puzzle International Convention). She had recently announced that she has a 54000 piece jigsaw puzzle on order which she is still waiting for delivery. The "Travel Around Art" is the current world's largest and she tells me it comes in 27 bags - WOW! In the meantime, she just received a 6000 piece Clementoni that comes in one bag which she is hoping to complete and showcase at the Convention's Art Gallery... THAT will be challenging!

I asked if the Floor Plans for the Convention on the website were up to date and she said no, as they have partners in Las Vegas, Alliance, that are creating an official Autocad layout. She said Alex (JPiC Co-Founder) is traveling to Vegas in a couple of weeks to finalize the floor plan.

I asked when will you have a complete list of confirmed Vendors for public viewing and she replied at the end of February. Our target is currently a minimum of 500 vendors.

I wondered if there is anything significant that I should mention such as upcoming promos or deadlines or cutoff times? She answered "No, but we strongly recommend visitors buy their tickets online, reserve a hotel room with one of our partners and, if interested, sign up for the competitions as well and as early as possible because of limited availability."

I mentioned about any suggestions that visitors should be made aware of in advance regarding the local situations or restrictions? She advised that visitors at JPiC must be vaccinated according to the regulations put in place by the governor of Nevada.

Finally I questioned what kind of updates should/can we expect between now and the event date? She replied with the following: - list of vendors, sponsors and speakers - complete details and rules for the competitions - Award Ceremony Gala Categories and nominations - Celebrities in attendance - Metaverse announcements (virtual reality immersive puzzling) - Development of jigsaw puzzle mobile apps.

Klodya Tremblay Instagram Influencer Klodya Tremblay is a social media influencer and jigsaw puzzle enthusiast. What makes her stand out is how she delivers her images on her Facebook page and Instagram. She displays them in the most unique way and has taken her puzzle photos in a lot of different places. We caught up with Klodya and asked her to share her Instagram puzzling experiences with us.

Q. For our Readers, can you tell us where you live?

A. I’m Canadian and I live in Quebec City.

Q. Would you like to share some background details about yourself?

A. Yes of course, I’m 40 years old and I work as a chemistry technician in a laboratory. I love traveling so when I’m not at home working on a puzzle, I’m somewhere in the world with my husband. As a French Canadian , my first language is French.

Q. How long have you been doing jigsaw puzzles?

A. Since always ! I started doing puzzle like a lot of children and I never stopped. When I was young I spent a lot of time with my godmother who is a huge puzzle fan so I became a fan too.

Q. It appears on your Instagram account that you have done 'very many' puzzles to put it mildly. Do you know how many puzzles you have done? Do you keep track?

A. No I don’t keep track , for me it’s more than a hobby or a passion, it’s a part of who I am so it’s not a competition of how many I have done. But I have more then 700 puzzles in my collection.

I’m currently working (part time lol) on a 42,000 piece puzzle and I can't wait to put all the sections together for a final photo, the result will be incredible.

A. About 2-3 1000 pieces and 1-2 small count. I love to work on 2 or 3 different puzzles at the same time so there are always multiple puzzles on my table.

Q. You do a variety of puzzles so, do you have any specific preference?

A. I love very colorful puzzle with different patterns. I’m a big fan of “Bunch of paperclips” puzzles and stuff like that. For me, the perfect puzzle is an artwork from Shelley Davies.

Q. Clearly you have a very deep passion for jigsaw puzzles so where does the name 'puzzle_canopy' come from?

A. Haha this is a funny one. When I was in high school I played everyday at “Magic: The Gathering” the card game and I loved the artwork on one of the cards named “Canopy spider” Some of my friends started calling me “Canopy” and that's where it came from.

Q. What is a Digital Content Creator?

A. It’s the biggest part of my work on Instagram and Facebook. If you want to be “successful” on social media you need to be different, to find your own signature and it’s hard work. I spend more hours in a week in photo shoot, video shoot, creating my posts, editing video and photos, chatting with the brand than in actual puzzling. It’s a lot of work but I love it.

Q. You have 13,000 followers and over 1,200 posts on your account. How long did it take you to get to those numbers?

A. I started my Instagram page in 2016 just for the fun and I’ve been working on it in a much more rigorous way since 2019.

Q. What is the one most memorable puzzle or puzzle situation you experienced that is most outstanding to you? Is there something that either 'super surprised' you or you were blown away that you accomplished, even if it was one of your most outstanding puzzle photo shoots?

A. The first time I won a speed puzzling competition! I was so happy and so exhausted at the same moment. Also when I took the final photo of my big 32,000 piece puzzle, the final result on the floor were very impressive.

My mom really liked this new release puzzle in the store, so I am not surprised that she picked this one to do next. Right from the start, though, my sadly neglected Yorkie let me know that she was not happy that we were starting another puzzle! She made her displeasure known but was willing to accept the obvious for now.

This one was a lot of fun, but again, I wanted to use a more planned approach, while Mom was perfectly happy to bounce all over the place. When it comes to puzzling, my mom is more of a free spirit than I am! I love watching her intently putting her little sections together to mine, so I am content to puzzle around her.

I was able to get about 18 of the little squares done before my pup had had enough. She wriggled her way onto my arms and refused to budge. My puzzling time was at an end. However, she allowed me to get one arm free and I started sorting the loose pieces into little piles for my mom to do. Mom did an excellent job finishing the puzzle on her own while Lexie waited for bedtime.

Galison Review

Galison puzzles always seem to take me a minute to get into. It seems like their puzzle pieces are on the thin side, yet they are sturdy.

They seem to have a sharp cut to the pieces, and I always fear that I will get a paper cut if I am not careful, yet this has never happened.

The grid cut pieces have two basic versions of the basic knob-hole-knob-hole shape (long and skinny vs short and wide) that alternative with each other.

They have a glossy finish that shows off the crisp images and colors very well.

I didn’t have any bent or missing pieces, nor were there any cut issues.

There’s almost no puzzle dust, for those who care about this.

The box has the image completely covering the front, with a small sticker hiding a small part of the puzzle.

The back of the box has a smaller image of the puzzle and they include a handy small poster that I used, especially when I was sorting.

The poster had some details about the various succulents and identified each one.

All in all, this was a fun puzzle to do and it was done rather quickly, which my pup was happy about.
