ACCOMMODATION ADVICE WITH LINCOLN UNI

When considering accommodation options offered by the University of Lincoln, it can be tempting to choose halls with the biggest bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms, but you could be missing out on additional options that could better suit your lifestyles, such as location, area, and flatmates’ interests. Options available to you include living in halls, private accommodation or at home and it’s important to think about the various important factors when deciding on your accommodation, which we have covered below.

Cost

Before you start looking for accommodation, we recommend that you work out what options may best suit your budget. For example, a non-en-suite bedroom in Lincoln Courts would typically cost £103.02 per week, which means a 40-week contract would cost £4,120.80. You also would need to consider whether or not your student finance would cover your accommodation fees, or whether you need to find an alternative residence or another source of income, such as a parttime job to help fund this cost. We have a wide selection of accommodation available at the University of Lincoln and varying price ranges to suit as many budgets as possible. From £103.02 - £185.64 per week for an en-suite room or £171.36 for a studio. You can choose from rooms in a variety of shapes and sizes, also reflected in the pricing. Don’t forget about the other things you will need to budget for, for example, food, course textbooks, and living creature comforts.

Location

Another important factor when choosing accommodation is the location. All accommodation managed by the University is within a 10-minute walk to the centre of campus, and most of our accommodation is within a 10 to 15-minute walk to the city centre.

Facilities

At the University of Lincoln, we offer selfcatered accommodation with shared kitchens and living rooms, between 5 and 23 students in some accommodations. If you would prefer to have a kitchen to yourself, there are a selection of studio rooms available. Most of our sites offer en-suite bathrooms with every bedroom. In our Lincoln Courts accommodation, there is a choice of ensuite and non-en-suite rooms available. #

Cygnet Wharf

Situated in high-rise apartment buildings, Cygnet Wharf is a first year-only accommodation site that offers beautiful views of the Brayford Wharf and central Lincoln Campus. Designed to offer traditional halls of residence experience but with modern utilities and fittings, Cygnet Wharf is at the heart of the University of Lincoln’s main campus, with all learning facilities and subject buildings just minutes away.

Lincoln Courts

Located in the centre of the University Campus, Lincoln Courts is our most budgetfriendly accommodation and contains apartments styled to reflect a residential street, all with modern utilities.

Valentine Court

Located just south of campus, Valentine Court is popular with second-year students and is designed in a townhouse-style comprising ensuite flats of either 6 or 13 bedrooms.

Special requirements

We understand that there is a range of requirements that students may need help with. To support these needs, we offer quiet-room only flats, as well as having rooms specially designed with disability access in mind.
