9th Graders Took One Last Look

As 9th graders took one last look at their years at Pound , several things came to mind As 7th graders they were the first class that didn ' t have to share lockers The class size was smaller because Scott and Lux opened. In 8th grade they had to adjust to a new principal and vice principal. As 9th graders , the graduation requirements for their class of 2002 increased.

Now all ninth graders can think about is that they 've made it! They passed and survived being in the middle in 8th grade . They ' re now on top! The ninth graders are so anxious to move into their high school environment. They ' re excited for the new opportunites and friends that await them They are also worried about being the youngest again and the pressures from high school.

After All Is Said And Done

8th graders are half way there! They made it through their second year of middle school. They feel more experienced and comfortable in their second year at Pound. 8th grade was the year they began to settle down and find their place. What they want now is to be on top! 8th grade was also a year of exploration. By trying different electives 8th graders found out which subjects they liked and disliked. Electives helped prepare them for 9th grade class selections. In their core class, students learned about prejudice , Hemingway, Civil War , grammer, drug effects, and many other subjects.

A Future In School

7th grade was marked by change and adjustments . 7th graders faced many challenges as they transitioned from elementary school to middle school. They had added responsiblity such as remembering supplies, being organized, a different schedule , and new lockers and combinations

Meeting students from different elementary schools and making new friends was a plus. Being the youngest in the school was a minus. Throughout the school year, 7th graders participated in many activities. They had Egyptian Day, Greek Day , Outsiders Day, Bingo , and Soda Socials 7th graders also went on field trips to various places. By the end of the year they had proved they could survive.
