7th graders enjoy junior high

The first year

The second Pound seventh grade class of 1964-1965 had 137 students compared to the 278 students In the 1990-91 class. The current seventh grade students said they were happy and excited to be attending Pound.

Seventh grader Erin Watsek said she had ·more homework" In junior high than she did In elementary school.

Andy Wilson and Chad Carter both said that "having lockers was a positive change from elementary schools.·

During the 1969 school year seventh graders were exposed to another change, a new dress code, which allowed girls to wear dress slacks and boys could have sideburns.

Current Pound seventh graders attended an orientation prior to the beginning of the school year and were given an assignment booklet to help them keep track of homework and classroom events.

Seventh graders took one elective and a variety of exploratory classes ranging from art to foreign language.
