From the beginning to the end of a students high school journey, each year is different. Each year has its highs and lows, but every one of them stands out in its own way. In an instant, a student could meet their new lifelong best friend in a class. In an instant, a high school sport
team could drain a buzzer-beater shot to make their way to state. -ln -an instant, a student could discover their future career passion in class from a biology lab. These short four years may seem like a lifetime, but they fly by. Freshman think of all the time they still have left of their journey. While seniors look back wondering where the time went. Students are making memories they'll cherish forever. They'll Capture these "in an instant 11 moments with their friends, teachers, and family to treasure as they part ways after graduation. High school is where they find who they are whether it's their freshman or senior year. Students learn, grow , and thrive as they take on each challenge in high school. But in an instant, the tiniest change, whether they' re aware of it or not, could shape who they'll be.
From freshman year to becoming a senior the students at LNE get the opportunity to develop strong bonds with the teachers and the friends that they meet. Its a big part of school for many students School can be boring for some students, but, believe it

or not, a lot of children love to learn new things and look forward to seerng their progress and inner excellence.
When parents take their children to school for the first time they can start to tear up, but when the time comes to watch their child walk the stage during graduation an overwhelming amount of respect and pride forms for their child.
Th roughout that journey, LNE students realize not only the importance of their high school relationships, but also, the value of the education they can get at Northeast. From necessary financial, math and language skills to enriching creative, industrial, and physical endeavors, Rockets have many opportunities to learn and to grow.

Art: the expression /application of human creative imagination, made primarily for their beauty or emotional power. Everybody has their own way of expressing themselves in different styles, even if their style was inspired by another's.
Some create art with the intent of evoking deep thought into the audience. Some do it just for fun. Others need it in order to survive. No matter what, art will always stay as a timeless reflection of the individual's burning soul. While a lot artists have clearly discovered their natural talents, even the most

There are many different Skilled and Technical Science classes that you you can pick out of. There is power mechanics, auto mechanics,-wood shop, welding, and construction class. With so many classes there have to be teachers.
Mr. Jacob Gardner teaches the power mechanics and auto mechanics classes. He is in his first year here at Lincoln Northeast Mr. Gardner thinks mechanics classes are good for students because "it gets them out of the traditional classroom, lets them work with their hands, breaks up the monotony of the day." He become a teacher after being a mechanic since he got out of high school. One of his favorite aspects of it was talking to people and telling them how everything works. So he thought he should try teaching to help students get a better future than what they might have had. Mr. Gardner says he loves it here, and his first year has 11 been a lot of fun."
Skilled and Technical Science classes can teach you important skills, and Mr. Gardner suggests that everyone should take
a basic auto class . 11 it teaches you simple ideas on how your car works, [how to change] your spare ," says Gardner. Without teaching, Mr. Gardner might find himself doing anything. In his non-teaching life, he claims to have been 11 a little of everything."
The other SKilled and Technical Science teachers all agree that the classes in their curriculum are good for the students and a good place to get get hands-on learning. They all also agree that at least one of the classes should be a graduation requirement.
Their ideas and views are worth listening to. Mr. Bob Freese, department chair, has taught here at Northeast for 35 years and one year at Bryan. Mr.Russ Hitz has been teaching at Northeast for two years. He previously taught at Lincoln High for 25 years. Ms. Bonni Riehle, like Mr. Gardner, is new to Lincoln Northeast. Even with two new teachers , the Skilled and Technical Science department represents over sixty years of teaching experience! That is a lot of skilled and technical knowledge.

Ancient Babylonians did math in base 60 instead of base 10. Thats why we have 60 seconds in a minute and 360 degrees in a circle. Trying to get students to understand the why and how of math is one of the main reasons LNE math teachers chose to teach math.
Mr. Steve Eckman has been teaching math for twenty years. He went to college at UNL and started as a math major. Eckman then went back and got his teaching certificate. He got inspiration to become a math teacher due to his liking of math and knowing it would be helpful for the future. Like other colleagues in the math department "trying to get students to understand math" is Mr. Steve Eckman's reason for becoming a math teacher.
In the same way, Ms.Cassandra Seiboldt wanted to inspire others to see math the way she does. Seiboldt has only taught at Northeast for four years. Seiboldt went to UNL and started as an engineering major. She then switched to math education after tutoring the athletic department.
Senior Makaylynn Steele is a part of those students who have a love hate relationship with math. Makaylynn says it depends on what area of math they are in during teaching that determines if she likes it or not . . Math is important to her because her siste,r junior Brandi Steele, is striving to become a math teacher after she graduates.

This year, as in all years, physical education students have been a high standard of learning. The students have been active • and moving while also having fun. Physical Education or ,"P.E." as you may know it, is a class for the body and mind. It is also a really big hit with the students at Northeast High School. The only required physical education class is Fitness for Life and all freshmen have to take it. All sophomores have to take Health, too, as a required class.
Most students take physical education classes for other reasons besides acquiring course credit. "The most rewarding part about being in team sports is getting an hour to move around to get fit and just having fun," said junior Dante Ceballos. Students usually take P. E. classes to take a break from the more mentally stressful classes and come to take on the challenge to their physical strength. 'We P. E. teachers here at Northeast aim to give the students skills in the weight room and gym. One third of [this] generation will have diabetes, we are trying to kill that statistic one day at a time," Coach Becca Hiller said. Coach Hiller and the rest of the physical education teachers strive to make the students healthier and to help them live better lives.

One could argue that here at Lincoln Northeast High School the most important teachers are the science teachers because without science the human race would not be as advanced as they are today. Science is everywhere, everything has matter and mass, which is science. Mr. Joshua Schlautman, a chemistry teacher at Northeast said, "The objective of science classes is to help students develop critical thinking skills and problem solving and to apply them in their everyday lives." Science is in everyday lives of every human being no matter what you are doing. For example, every time you see a color it is science because all of the colors are being absorbed and the color you see is being reflected. When asked, What is your plan as a teacher to get your students to achieve the maximum knowledge you teach? Mr. Schlautman said his plan is to "Try to relate chemistry to things they see everyday, they do this by learning in different forms, such as reading, labs, models and practicing. To do chemistry they go over math and english skills as in writing, communicating and calculating their data results." Science surrounds life itself and everything living wouldn 't be alive without it.
Mr. Schlau t man is answering a question in more depth on the board that a student had about the powerpoint.
In this photo the students are learning about speed, velocity and distance using a hot wheels car and a ramp. They have to calculate the speed and velocity by time and distance.

Ever wonder what it would be like to be a social studies teacher? What you have to go through besides graduating high school and going to college? Well os many of us • know there are many student teachers around our building that come to Northeast in order to prepare themselves for becoming a teacher. Some even come back as official teachers.
Mr.Bryan .Lasley was one of those student teachers. He says that he learned from "the master' Mr. Jeffrey Brooks. He says that being Mr. Brooks' student teacher was fun and very helpful. Mr. Brooks said, "If we are being sarcastic, 1 mean, he was bad -- he was really, really bad, but after being with me, he was great really great."
Mr. Brooks explains that everyone has their ups and downs and their push to get to where they're at. He explains that every student teacher isn't perfect and that they don't know what to expect when they start teaching. "Teaching is very demanding," he says.
Student teachers have to have perspective and focus even though they're busy with things outside of the classroom. As with many other teachers that have gone through being a student teacher, it is difficult because most of the time these amazing people that are stepping up to help us also have college classes, work and their personal life to deal with.

Many students at Northeast are often opposed to the idea of taking a world language class. Some think it is "pointless. " However, in all reality, the languages of the world are very beautiful and full of importance.
The teachers here at Lincoln Northeast High .School all have a very strong connection with the language they teach. They have either grown up with the culture, felt the need to embrace more of their culture, or have visited countries and regions where the language comes from. Ms. Claudia Stacchini is originally from France, and "moved to the U.S. after graduating high school." Each teacher has a strong feeling for the importance of taking a world language class and they invite every student to take and learn a world language.
Spanish holds the most students who are learning a world language. French and German follow right behind, and rival each other in the amount of students taking their language. World language teachers wish that this would change in the future. Teachers want more students enrolled in their world language classes. Students will take the advantage of learning more than just words spoken. Here, they will grasp a bigger knowledge of the culture from the language they are studying. Seno'r Michael Mason believes that, "it's good to be educated on other cultures." Such as the music, festivities, holidays, and much more.

Lincoln Northeast is known for its hard work and dedication. Each and every sport doesn't quit until they perform to their highest ability whether that is at practice on the court or during a game out on the field. At Northeast, not only is the sport
teams a family, but so is the ·entire sports department. Athletes are constantly on the go during season and in off-season. If they're not on the track, they are in the weight room improving themselves along with encouraging teammates. Even though students may have never played a sport, coaches and players are always welcoming and supportive. Student athletes stay on top of their grades understanding school comes first in order to be successful in the classroom and on the field Every player plays for the team and for Lincoln Northeast to represent him or herself wen and proudly. They wear the rocket logo with pride as they know they are well supported by the community.
Every year the Northeast Cheerleading team chooses themes for students and staff to dress as to show their Rocket pride. Spirit Week is celebrated the week of Homecoming with the dance on Friday. This year's week happened to fall on the same week as Labor Day so there were only four days to celebrat~.
On Tuesday there was Twin Day, Wednesday was 70s Day, Thursday was Black and White Day, and Friday was Pajama Day. Junior Yashua Bradley won Black and White Day and junior Tatum Custer won 70s Day, as well as many other winners throughout the week.
Students and staff that participated this year went all out. The students that dress up show their pride for the school, and definetly are the reason for some laughs throughout the week.

The football team and others facing the flag to start the game.
This is the great football team of Lincoln Northeast. They had a quick season like any other sport. Before they knew it they were suddenly in the middle of the season.
Even if they did not qualify to go to State they had some good wins and loses throughout it all. If you were there for all the games you could tell that they all had a big passion for the game. Also a ton of bond with each other and the coaches. Some players got injured and it had some little impacts on how the game would be played, but. like every season, somebody stepped in.
While striving for victory, Lincoln Northeast players had passion. It didn't matter the obstacles they faced. They always had each others back through every single thing that came their way. Practices were long, the weather at times was trash, and all the pain that came along with the conditioning and working out was there, but the team always gave it everything they had. This yea(s junior varsity, reserve and freshman football team went all lout and whipped it up on the football field . They spent an immense amount of time training in the weight rooms, preparing their muscles to tackle the competitors so the Rockets can take the dub. They went through the dirt and rain which brought them to show their true determination to show how great they can be.

This season all three teams really showed that Rocket pride. From being a student in the school to being a team player it was that these boys grew a bond. Like any other year there were ups and downs, but the boys always pulled through and helped each other out. Everyone was a key player, striving for that win.
And even if it did not come their way that easily they took that struggle and made into motivation. Practices may have been hard and long, there was without a doubt injuries, but these boys, along with the help of the coaches, pulled through, and they all hope to end up on the Varsity team.

This volleyball season the roster was full with potential and opportunity. With 14 girls on the Varsity team this season, it was a constant friendly competition for playing time. At the beginning of the season, the Rockets showed high potential. While Northeast has been viewed as the 11 underdogs 11 in recent years, the girls were opening many eyes to not only other opponents, but to all the spectators who came and supported.
The upperclassmen led the younger girls with passion and heart. There were several "lasts 11 for the four seniors that were bittersweet. Last home games, last bus rides, last locker room pep talks, last huddle, last time stepping on the court after playing since elementary school. The senior girls made every last ball count as they would know it all would soon come to an end. Mid-season the Rockets rose up against Millard South and Pius X, the highlight of their season. All throughout the season the ladies found their spark and mojo in each and every game until the end of the season.

The Northeast Volleyball program has been the smallest in size since the seniors began their high school volleyball career. With only 36 girls who represented Northeast volleyball, several were flexible with swinging from team to team. Most girls were learning and playing every position and adapted easily. Coaches worked with each girl individually to better themselves and the team. By being able to play all different spots and positions on the court they each earned playing time and developed as a player. Each player contributed positively to the team which helped them grow throughout the season.

The math of softball is consistent and easy. Four bases. Three outs. Two Teams. One winner. Every time.
But the math for this year's softball team is different from other seasons: this year's team subtracted a long time coach in Ms. Kari Amen, but this team added up to one family. There are no problems; adapting to a new coach has been great for them. They always covered each other backs. Two words to describe them would be hardworking and determined--they always had their head in the game and they worked together.
Although the subtraction of injuries is part of the equation, the girls always got back up and played their hearts out. One of the season's biggest games would be their first game against Fremont. Do the math. Northeast has lost five times to them before, but, this year, they won. The team wants to give thanks to their amazing coaches for helping each and every one of the players become better and better and thanks for believing in them when no one else did.

The teammates have really bonded throughout the season, with every win and every loss, every photo, every practice, the girls !learned the reality of of teamwork and compatibility. The reserve girls won against Lincoln Southeast at the reserve tournament. Their coach, Kassie Strauss, states "both teams improved throughout the season and gained knowledge to be better athletes on the field and better students in the classroom. 11 Although the girls were not as successful with their season this year, they are dedicated to improving themselves through the mind and body. You hear your own heartbeat in your ears. Your legs burn. You come around the last turn and head for the finis .h line. The trees and the crowd go by in a blur. All you want is to get to the end. You have pushed yourself, both today and during practice. You drive yourself to finish as the end approaches, knowing that your team depends on you crossing that line, just as you depend on them.
Running can be a solitary sport, but the Rocket Cross Country runners are a team. With twenty three runners on the boys team they gave each practice and each race all they had. According to freshman Zach Wentz, "It took a lot of mental and physical strength but it was all worth it considering all the .fun it was."
Senior Elijah Connatser, the team's only state qualifier, pushed himself to the edge. He runs all year long, putting in the extra effort needed to be the best he can be. And, like every other Rocket runner, Elijah truly enjoys running with the team (along with staying fit).
Even though the practices were hard, they were fun and worth it at the end of each day and at the end of each race. It is more than just a group of boys that run together it is a bond that connects them to each other as a team.

Junior Lillian Uhlmann had said that over the course of the season she had ( ~improved because of the training she participated in with the rest of her cross country family. "Running sucks," said Uhlmann, "but everything that comes with it makes it worth it."
And while runners said that practices 1. were hard, they were worth the blood, sweat, and tears. They practiced together. They improved together. "Running long distances isn't always the most fun," said J senior Annika Kuchar, "but it's the fact that everyone is dying together during workouts that makes it fun."
There were still some individual honors. Sophomore Hannah Ray set a new school and course record by running a 5K at Pioneers in 19:46. Hannah's personal record is a 19:41 that she ran at State, and she also holds course records at Kearney and Norfolk. The LNE Varsity boys tennis team is full of dedication and energy. These boys give it their all at every game. They are very dedicated to their team. If they lose a match, they hold their head high and know that they tried their best. A couple things that are very important are teamwork and communication.
Communication is especially important during doubles. Both players need to communicate to see who will be going after the ball.
Timing is important too. Each player needs to time when they hit the ball or swing their racket to hit the ball. Some people

may not realize it but it takes a lot of skill to play tennis. It is a skill that these boys obviously have.
The boys who came over from JV to varsity this year definitely proved that they had a rightful place on varsity. All of the seniors made sure that the juniors on the team were ready to '' take over " the team once they graduated this year.
Even if tennis was not their favorite thing about high school, they still enjoyed playing it and being apart of the team. Making everyone feel as if they belonged on the team is something that all of them did best.

These boys put in just as much time and dedication as the varsity boys do. They give it their all every game . Even when they don't win their match, they still go and shake their opponents hon~ and keep their spirits high.
With new faces coming in every year, the coaches and experienced players make sure all of the new players are included in everything. They will have plenty of practices outside of the season to help them get ready. for tryouts in the fall.
All of the boys on the team work together to make it a fun high school experience. There is always something new to learn that will help them get better. They practiced on every little thing and made sure to have fun while doing it. Each player is working hard to become the best tennis players they can be. The Lincoln Northeast Girls Golf Team consists of five girls: senior · Sophie Hart, junior Mackenzie Moreno, junior McKenna Harrington, freshman Kennedy Chase, and freshman Riley Whrel .
Even with only five golfers, the team met with success this·year. Junior Riley Whrel was excited about this season: \\I was really proud of all the girls this season for coming through even for how small of a team we were. I also placed fourteenth at one of our meets and I've never been more proud of myself. I still have a lot to learn but I have three more years of this so I'll be a threat by my senior year."
The only girl to go to state this year was senior Sophie Hart, the only returning varsity player. Even so, Coach Alex Svhela said \\I could not be more happy with the work these girls have put in. They have worked hard, played well as a team and seemed to enjoy each other. They were a phenomenal group to coach." Our girls played well this year with being young and new to the game of golf.

Unified bowlers had a thunderous season this year full of success and many powerful strikes . The sport was made to bring different types of people together. Students with special needs are partnered and teamed up with other students at Northeast who help the athletes on the team. According to Coach John Froschheiser, \\The best part about this program is that it really opens doors to an opportunity for students to meet and socialize outside of their normal circle of friends. They all see they each have a lot of the same common interests , likes and dislikes, and aren't different from each other in the grand scheme of things"
Every student has had a great time this year. All of them succeeded and got much better than when they started earlier in the season. Most importantly, each student made a new unexpected friendship that they didn't expect they would. Mr. Froschheiser said , \\All of them have become a family. Bus rides were the best, because you could really see the kids relax and open up to one another."
The students all excelled and were rewarded greatly for it. They all received a letter because they competed at the varsity level against other teams within their district. With the year being such a great success, all the student-athletes can talk about is how they can't wait for next year. The seniors who are graduating are very glad that they were able to participate in unified bowling their final year of high school.

Being a basketball player takes a lot of dedication. Basketball season doesn't start when the season starts, ifs played everyday all day because the grind never stops. Being on a team of talented girls is fun because you get to be a part of another family and it makes it easier to get through high school knowing you have more friends and family. It feels good .because you have people when you are struggling and need help or when you have a problem and you need someone you can rely on.
Some of the girls on the team have grown u·p with each other and they know how they play, and the new girls they welcome with respect and treat them the same as they would anyone else. Home is where the heart is and their heart is in the team.
These girls are so talented and they work so hard to be at the top. They are always working hard, and it doesn't matter if they win or lose, at the end of the day they know what they need to improve on or pat themselves on the back for. These girls are very hard-working because they have to pay attention in school to get good grades • so they can play and then practice after school and then make sure they get enough sleep for the next day.

JV, ReseNe, and Freshman Basketball have been working hard all season and they have been through wins and loses.
Being a student athlete is hard because you have to practice all night and then go home and do your homework or study for a test, but these girls still manage to juggle it. It is also impressive what these girls can do on the court. They go out and give their all no matter if they are winning or losing. They play with all their hearts. They come to have fun and enjoy playing the sport that they love.
Even though it gets tough sometimes they always seem to power through. When
they step out on the court they play for each other, even if they win or lose. They still have to learn from mistakes but at the same time they have have to congratulate themselves for giving their all and not giving up.
They also work to develop as individual players. Each of these girls dream of playing fro the varsity team, and some have dreams of playing after college. The hard work will pay off, and with talent added into the mix, the sky is the limit for each of these teams.

Sophomore,
Every year, there are new challenges that our basketball team faces. From the beginning, to the end, this team has shown growth and thats a princip9I to understand. We have such a young crowd of talented players. Every season we learn from our mistakes and strive for better the next time. Patience is key. But, the most important thing above everything, is the support that this team gives and receives. The boys who are devoted to coming to practice, the parents who encourage their kids, and the student section shows true appreciation no matter how hard times get tough.
The seniors were dedicated till the very end of the season and continued to give it all they had. The underclassmen pushed along with the team to end the season with pursuit and hard work. They understand what is needed to improve in the following years to bring LNE back to the PBA.

The JV Boys have learned a lot from this season. They played each game, and gave everything they had. Games were full of intensity and great' determination. It always came down to the fourth and final quarter. Some were closer than others, but our Northeast boys were certain to never give up. They learned that being persistent, and working together as a team would earn the the wins they deserved. As well as tight lock-up defense and consistently moving the ball around to find the open man. This close group of teammates consisted of a bunch of talented juniors, sophomores and even a few extraordinary freshman. They worked as hard as they could in practices. Making sure to push each other as a whole to pass their limits. Holding each other accountable, every day. Sure, not everyday was easy, but they knew deep down that their hard work would eventually pay off to reach their goals. The team of boys learned this year what it meant to be loyal, and to trust their teammates and those around them more often. With the knowledge and experience they gained, they will be more ready for the next season. This brought the team closer and hopefully raised the team's chemistry for the following years.

Being a wrestling coach is not an easy job. You have to organize dozens of young athletes, set up and take down equipment for practices and meets, deal with problems both on the mat and off, and put in long hours teaching and mentoring wrestlers. Rocket Head Wrestling Coach Patrick Neilly does it for the love of the sport. A coach at LNE since 2006, Neilly took over the had coaching position in 2010.
'' I loved the sport ," he says. "It taught me so much about being the person I am today beyond moves ."
Neilly also had a strong mentor in his former coach , who influenced him. "My wrestling coach was one of the best people I had ever met; I still remain in contact with him. "
Twenty five years later, Neilly is still
involved in the sport that helped to shape him.
But working with kids today is different and complicated by the fact that Neilly works at a different school than where he coaches. As a counselor at Mickle Middle School, Neilly is not around his wrestlers as much as if he were at Northeast during the day.
This is not much of a problem. Neilly tries to keep his communication efforts strong. 'We have high expectations for the kids to be responsible and communicate, and that helps when I am not in the building."
Another thing tt1at helps is that so many students have smart phones.
"Information is easily shared," says Neilly, since most of the boys can get ahold of him and can get information from him.

Head wrestling coach Patrick Neilly has a challenge ahead of him every year . Wrestling is not a popular sport, and it requires an athlete to be trained in very specific moves and techniques So, each season, Coach Neilly has to whip a bunch of wrestlers into shape who may have never worn a singlet. "The earlier athletes start ~the better , " Neilly says , "however, we have had kids earn a state medal their first year out." Neilly would never tell a kid he can't wrestle "if they are willing to put in the time and effort it takes to master the sport." Neilly prefers to school his wrestlers in "reliable and successful" techniques that are more effective than they are flashy.
Neilly does have some experienced wrestlers to help guide the newbies. This year's wrestling squad is led by returners like senior Corbin Sindel, juniors Preston Mort
and Christian Schaub, and sophomore Jayden Schrader. Coach Neilly mentioned that senior Anthony Stege is stepping up, too. And these veteran wrestlers are still gettj ng better.
Neilly's other challenge this year is meeting or succeeding last year's results, when five Rocket wrestlers qualified for state.
"We qualified five guys for state last year and four of them graduated," says Neilly. "However, there are some guys working hard to step up their game and prove they can wrestle at the top level." The young Rocket wrestlers have potential, and with solid team leaders and good coaching, this team could really make some noise at state .

From beating East to becoming one of the best swim teams in Nebraska, the Lincoln Northeast swim team had an amazing season. They finished their season 10-2, one of the best records for this season. The swim - team had many ups and downs this year but pushed though it and conquered.
Many swimmers said their least favorite part of the season was waking up for the 6 a. m. practices. Those practices were optional, but many decided to go so they could become better swimmers. The hard work ethic that was shown during the season is what made the LNE swim and dive team the best. Junior Quinn Keller told us, "At the end of the day, we all just want to walk out knowing that we gave it our all."
Some of the top performers this season included sophomore Caden Feit (50 and 100 freestyle), senior Chase Larson (200 IM andl 00 fly), senior Jacob Hawkins (100
freestyle and 100 backstroke), senior Garet Darnall (200 and 500 freestyle), and junior Quinn Keller (100 breaststroke).
Some of the swimmers that shined this season had only been swimming a couple of years. Things like these show why LNE has the best determination in the state. Junior Thomas Brennan told us, "I started swimming my freshmen year, and now I'm one of the best on the team. I couldn't be more blessed."
Senior Aaron Hoeffner was a top diver in the state coming in at number three. The rest of the dive team looks up to him trying to chase his stats and records. All in all, this season for swim and dive was a huge success even with all the obstacles that were faced.

The coaches were proud of the team for all they put into succeeding. Head Coach Kyle Hunt said, 'The biggest surprise was how successful a lot of the newcomers were at the conference meet. To go along with the upperclassmen, we had l l kids letter at the meet by qualifying in the top l 6. 11

Our ladies work hard every day by going to practice to show what they got against others during meets. Coaches work hard every day with our athletes and are always constantly finding ways to make progress. These ladies face different events such as running in heats, relays, triple jump, long jump, high jump, and shot put. Day by day, they are improving. Everyone is striving, to reach new levels each day. Keelie Simpson expressed her feelings for this season saying, "I intend to really make a mark on this season. The coaches worked hard with preparing their athletics for the upcoming meets. as the season progressed, all the boys continued to grow and bring home faster and faster times . The team consisted of talented freshman, sophmores, juniors, and seniors. Although many mistakes were made during the season, they definitely took stand and stepped up their game with no complaints. If you are looking for a good group of guys with good work ethics who push themselves during practice, the JV, reserve, and freshman teams are a great place to start. Just because they are not on varsity, don't count them out. The boys on the lower level baseball teams work just as hard as the varsity boys. They put in a lot of hard work this season. No matter where they fell, all of the guys worked hard to improve on their skills. Not only did they improve on their skills, they also came together to bwild lasting friendshtps. Strong friendships and communication skills are vital for a win. The guys will never forget the memories they made this season. They played their hardest at every game no matter what team they were playing against. No matter in they won or lost, they still had a good time playing. If they lost a game they learned from their mistakes and tried better the next game All in all, The JV, reserve, and freshman boys have done a great job this year.

At varsi1y level, one is seen as the best compared to everyone else on the team. Having a high level of skill and abili1y is needed to be on top. Being number one does not happen overnig ht , many factors are involved.
Time for improvement and constant practice is the only way to become a preeminent tennis player. On the LNE varsi1y girls tennis team, dedication is seen in each member. One- of the best ways for JV and reserve to become better at their sport is to follow varsity's advice. Some notable words from :: number one varsi1y player senior Kati e LE , • "My advice would be to stay determine c and hard working . 11
Being an example for the newer • individuals on the team is what being o n varsi1y at LNE is all about. These girls practice every_day of the school week and miss multiple days of school for matches. It is a commitment, but this team enjoys every minute of it. Katie Le describes how she stays motivated to play tennis, "I always want to play my best and improve during practice so I stay positive even if I'm having a stressful day''.
Motivation and staying focused on becoming a better player is key when playing a sport. Being a part of varsi1y means one has to have ambition to improve continuously. Just by watching this small group of girls play tennis, their devotion to the sport becomes prominent.
Varsi1y girls tennis season was another success in the books. Each girl played their hardest and had a good time doing it. Even with a team so small, their desire to win and become better was astronomical. Numbers do not matter, it · is the effort put in by each ath!ete that makes all the difference.

What is a sport that can be played for a lifetime and is extremely fun? Tennis of course! Here at LNE, the girl's JV/Reserve tennis team not only fights to win, they enjoy every minute of it. JV coach Jennie Hansen describes what is special about the LNE girls team, "Everyone hos such a great personality and we always have fun at practices and matches". An athlete should love the sport they are partaking in. When one loves the sport they play, competitiveness and self-determination become .apparent. Audience members can definitely see these attributes in the team as a whole.
Although coaching can be tough from time to time, it is well rewarded. One of Reserve coach Steve Bartek' s reasons for coaching, "I coach tennis because I enjoy seeing girls develop and make improvement throughout the season". Even though JV and Reserve are not Varsity, does not mean they do not improve and develop in their tennis abilities. Both coach Bartek and coach Hansen see the maturity grown in these girls throughout the season.
. The number of girls on the team is minimal, but it does not stop these them from doing their best. One major skill these girls develop: "Hand/eye coordination is one of the keys to having success in tennis and at the beginner level there will be a great amount of improvement in this area" (Bartek). There are many other strengths, being on the tennis team provides and teaches. Being on the JV and Reserve team is all about learning and growing to become a fantastic player.

Golf is a sport that a lot of people really enjoy and it can also be a very laid back atmosphere. This years team wanted to have a fun time a work on a sport they could play for years to come. The Players and Coaches made sure to keep in the mind set of having fun even with the wind and rain causing delays for their matches. This season was about teaching the new seniors how to play as well as making them fell welcomed to the sport.Overall the boys had a really good season and all the coaches _ are very proud and happy that so many new students decided to pick up a club and try something new. "Strength doesn't come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you thought you couldn't." Trainer Kate Kittleson chose this quote because it relates to the athletes and all the times they said they can't do certain things.
Many of the student athletic trainers had wanted to go into the health care profession and in some ways sports. Being in this program helps them get a feel of what it would be like to be an athletic trainer and all that it entails. When the trainers go to games Kate said that if the whole game goes off without a hitch the upside is that they get to watch a free game.
The job of a trainer is to help rehabilitate and prevent further injury to the student The trainers job focuses on students that play a whole range of sports such as basketball, baseball, and many more. They try and prevent the blood in blood, sweat and tears. But the trainers aren't just there to help with physical wounds, they also help the student to get back on their feet (after getting checked out) and get back in the game. The well known Star Strutters had a full team . of 16 girls this school year having to come together and put out such classic drill team performances. Although becoming a part of the team was where it all started for these girls, the Lincoln Northeast Star Strutters have been around for decades. Strutters are here year round, bringing your entertainment for the half time of games. Commitment is a huge role that comes into the play when being a part of the team. From long practices, having to' get the routine and pick up techniques pretty quick, its sure to say that there were days or moments of being tired.
Like any Strutter, though, the love for being a performer for the school was most definitely there. Sixteen beautiful girls taking the ·stage and pepping up the crowd and cheering on the athletes. They started putting in that work from the start though. Learning the school song, their Strutter moves and so on. Taking the stage is what these girls live for.
And all that commitment paid off, as the girls won the Class A High Kick competition at the Nebraska State Dance Competition in February , achieving a goal they set at their first practice! Go Rockets! Go Strutters!

It takes a lot to be a cheerleader at Lincoln Northeast High School. Just ask senior Diamond Bush, who has more than enough . motivation and encouragement for cheer. • Being a cheerleader means lifting spirits , showing leadership , being on time to every class, having good grades, and also showing what you ·got.
11 Lets get a little bit rowdy, R-O-W-D-Y! 11 Thats one of the many cheers that the Varsity Cheerleaders do during all sporting events to show they're able to fire up the crowd and they are bound to win Also throughout the season they build relationships with each other, and help raise
neach others self-esteem.
These girls become one big family and without a doubt they give their hands when help is needed. Any athlete knows that it's a gre~t feeling having someone there every game cheering them on and boosting their adrenaline. These girls come to practice daily and give their all , try their hardest and show their best .
11 Not only are we your LNE Varsity Cheer team, but we're also family and I love all the girls and cheering together is just a big plus, so come on out and give it a try and we promise you won't regret it, 11 said the one and only senior Diamond Bush.

It doesn't matter whether the girls are on Varsity, JV, Reserve, or Freshmen teams, they're all there for a reason, to make sure the athletes are give their absolute best. There is a ton of responsibility that comes with being a cheerleader, such as being at all home events and even dressing out for all home games. _
Each year the incoming teams make sure they carry the tradition Northeast Cheerleaders have throughout the community. This traditions starts with Freshman, JV, and Reserve levels.
These girls work hard, day after day to come up with cheers and stunts as well as dances to support their LNE Rocket athletes. Also, the LNE Cheerleaders are all for school
spirit. Each game comes with a theme, and the cheerleaders get excited to cheer as the players try their best to win the game.
The LNE Cheerleaders are committed to the game, to their coach, to our LNE athletes, and so much more.
Not only do they cheer, but they watch out for each other and support each other's opinions, even if there is a disagreement.

You could hear this phrase about every single day by anyone in guard, whether its during marching band during 7th period, sectionals , or even before a performance. It was something t~at was claimed as theirs in order to round everyone up to most likely hear an announcement For the guard's part they had to start going from the start, having an extra guard camp to themselves. Throughout the season they had
a lot of extra work to put in They also had to be on their own, literally, and try to keep a good vibe while dealing with the typical group disputes. From Harvest of Harmony to NSBA, most on the team could say that guard came with the laughs , a whole lot of goofiness, and ill-tempered attitudes Color guard was a way to see what the music was playing and were the music to the deaf. A highlight of the season was the amazing opportunity of performing at Memorial Stadium.

The 201 7-201 8 Lincoln Northeast Marching Band surpassed their predecessors.
This year they earned two II l 1 1 ratings and a 11 211 rating at their competitions. This season being the Northeast band's best, they've progressed in their marching and playing. With Mr. Brian Vuu as the new director, they have accomplished great things and can continue to keep on raising the bar to new heights for their goals.
Band is similar to a village: we all have problems, but if you ask for help someone will always have your back. "No matter how hard you think that you have worked or how much you really want to go to bed, you can always dig deeper," senior Drum Major Aaron Reyes stated.
The band has had this motto the past few years: they are a family and a family wins and fails and rises and falls together as one. The band may not be the biggest band compared to other Lincoln schools, but 130 people is just right for Lincoln Northeast.

The Addams Family was full of great acts and great music. There was visible enjoyment from the audience. The jokes appealed to young and old audience members. Just like every year, the house was packed each and every night. One aspect of the musical which was different this year was the musical pit who play the background music and make the sound effects. The musical pit had a different location; they were hidden behind a screen which made them sound more professional. The students were dedicated to put on an over the top performance for friends, family, and musical lovers. Every night the cast, pit, and the behind the scenes crew acknowledged what they could improve for the upcoming night. Not only was the audience blown away, but everyone who put on the show was equally-- if not more--pleased with the overall outcome of the musical.

One of the many things that goes on here at LNE during the fall is the fall play. Even though it is not as big as the musical, it is still really fun to come watch. ·They put a lot of hard work into the play. They have many rehearsals to help them get ready for the big show. It can be tough at times to memorize their lines but when ifs time for the big show, the cast always pulls through and gives their best performance. All of the theater kids say that they really enjoy working with each other and that they are all really close. Some of the seniors even say that they are really going to miss theater when they graduate because it was one of their favorite things about high school. The Lark is a historically accurate play based on the trial of Joan of Arc in the Catholic Church. The play was written in l 952 and presented on Broadway in 1955. The play begins at the beginning of Joan's trial, and uses flashbacks to help convey the story of Joan and how she was spoken to by what she believes to be an angel bringing a message from God. The play goes on showing how a l 400's Catholic court session was conducted using flashbacks to help convey stories told by Joan.
The play was presented beautifully by all of the enthusiastic cast members. You could tell that immense effort was put into the presentation, preparation, planning, and costume design. The play was very entertaining to watch, with some very memorable humor such as the king with his cup and ball and the phrase, "Don't be an idiot! The devil understands French."
The play was performed very well by the students, and it was also a great sign that in a world where every movie is 500% CGI (Computer Generated Images) that bringing scenes to life with great acting and prop design hasn't faded into the past.

Northeast is very lucky to have many different things, one of those things includes the band. Consisting of orchestra, wind ensemble, Honors jazz, prep jazz, pep, symphonic, and show bands, our rocket musicians keep growing by number and improving their level of skills. Most of the kids are involved in many of those groups and that requires a lot of responsibility. With smiles on their faces, our rocket musicians know how to manage to do that successfully. ''i'm really proud of the work ethic and the musicianship in the music program" said Vuu, one of the band instructors.
Mr.Vuu and Mr.Snyder are both really proud of this year's musicians, and are looking to · strengthen individual techniques to be able to read music sufficiently. The bands perform a lot, the musicians have the challenge of performing in short amount of days , making sacrifices and learning new music, it sometimes may be stressful "But the Kids love it so it makes the job enjoya ble ." Mr.Snyder. That;s what makes the band so successful. Sometimes the band family, as Vuu likes to call our band, they don't always agree on things, instead of seeing it as negative, it's actually a sign that shows caring for the bands, if anything it makes the LNE band stronger.

To an untrained eye, Show Choir is just a group of kids -brought together because of a shared interest of song and dance. However, spending just an hour in a room with them, one can quickly see that this is more than just participants in some school activity, its a family brought together by a shared love of the art. While Show Choir is divided into three separate groups, Dynamix and Voices N Harmony. These people from all different backgrounds are brought under the leadership of their faithful teacher, Amy Thorpe. She has somehow managed to form this band of unruly children into a singing force to be reckoned with. This family has gone on to perform all over Nebraska, from Central City to Grand Island, against people all over the Midwest.
•At Southwest high school here in Nebraska, they ranked 4th overall in the entire competition, a stark contrast to years past where they didn't even place. Their biggest competition of the year, Grand Island, is in just a couple of weeks, but that close connection they have created should take them far. Win or lose, they'll all carry the experiences they have shared over the post years into their futures.

Vocal Music is a hard working, excellent group here at Northeast. Not just the students' abilities to sing, but their impact on the people around them. Vocal Music teacher, Mrs. Thorpe describes how the three vocal groups inspire her, "I enjoy watching them gain confidence and grow as performers. I am most proud of them when they are proud of themselves. It is like watching a light turn on. There becomes a new found sense of themselves". These students sure do shine bright, and their confidence shows for it. Leadership is a big role in vocals, every member respects what they're doing and who they are singing with. The 2018 motto that these students have followed. "Show an attitude of gratitude". Every member is proud of who they are and the people they are singing with. Creating an exceptionally performing, vocal family. All the talented students in Chambers, Concert Choir, and LNE Singers put fear aside and did something new. Joining this group allows new experiences everyday. Not just in one's talent, but one's personality. A quote Mrs. Thorpe shares from The Music Man, 11 Pile up too many tomorrows and you'll find that you end up with a bunch of empty yesterdays. 11 Take a risk and do something out of the comfort zone. Life may be normal and good, but why not make it magnificent?

And now we are thriving and • eager to indulge ourselves into the "real world 11 • We want to utilize ou r knowledge and life skills and apply it in any way possible. This is the year to make every moment count while also prepping for the future . We've rocked black and white for four years, now it's time to rep new vibrant colors. And here is where paths are finally split after being together in this community since preschool. Here is where we send our farewells and wish each other the best Its our time to take control and see where our new journey will lead.

Juniors are in the place where they are upperclassman and only have one mo rE year to go. Ifs said to be one of the hard years in high school, but here are some . things about finally being a junior. You o n have one more year of high school, yo u can leave for lunch and not get in troub lf and you can go to prom. Isn't that excit in and eventful?
Leaving for lunch is that little bit of freedom you are finally getting. Some juniors are just now getting their licenses < J can finally drive without their parents witr them. A majority of juniors stop caring o r : choose sweatpants every day of the we E You finally find that one group of frie[)ds , think you're going to stick with, but it's okc you don't. Trust me, it's not the end of th E world. The ACT, it's a thing and you're tak i it and you're probably hating your life rig r now but its okay. Again, its not the end c the world.
Junior year may seem like the end of world and all you're thinking about right n is quitting. Listen for a second, you've do r two years of this, you've got like a week IE of this year, enjoy summer, and come back and finish your last year.
Ah ... yes, l 0th grade. The time where you (debatably) grow up from your still 1 immature/embarrassing self from ninth grade. You already have a good muscle memory of the environment, yet you still • haven't met everybody (and I'm not talking about just the new freshmen). You didn't have to worry about some SAT/ACTs, but this year you got a taste of what the ACT is going to be like in your junior year. Tenth grade is just another year of dealing with mental challenges like intelligence, procrastination, jealousy, love, etc. But in the end, its all good in the hood. Also you have like two more years of this, so those challenges are most likely going to continue in the future. Oof.
The transition from the secure 8th grade hallways and being top dog to the puzzling hallways of Northeast to the bottom of the litter can be daunting--the glory of being at the top of the social pyrami d as an 8th grader then back to square one when beginning high school. It has always been known to be a huge leap from middle to high school. Within only a couple of weeks in their new environment for the next four years , students learn the halls and their classrooms and get comfortable to the life of a high school student As soon as the freshmen get into the groove of things, the four years flash before their eyes and BAM, ifs senior year before you know it. Cherish every moment, find the perfect friend group to involve yourself with, have school spirit, go to the musical and arts events just as much as athletic events. Only four years of high school then off to the real world--put in all the effort and live in the moment. Get involved with the school. respect teachers along with upperclassmen, and enjoy the next three years! Onto bigger things!
Teachers, security and administrators what make a school safe and trustwc The faculty is there to help you out wr you need it.
The teachers are there not only to teach but also to help students occasionally with things that are off campus. Security is to make sure nob gets in who isn't supposed to be in thE school. Administrators are on campu! make sure everyone has a plan.
It is like a giant family because the principal and administrators are like tr parents and the wise aunts and wncle who advise you, the teachers are like loving older siblings who want wnars t for you, and the security is like the protective older siblings (who love you too).
Even though the average family doesn't always get along, they know tt they are always there for each other. Family is there for you no matter what happens, and the same goes for the faculty of a school: they are there for '> no matter what happens. The staff will help you with something that you neec and so will your family. So next time yo see a staff member just remember thE are like a family member.

Northeast has a variety of clubs. On any
given day and at different times during the week anybody can join; students with many interests you can meet new friends and get to know their teachers better. All these clubs provide a safe comforting environment where you can be yourself and be accepted. All the 29 clubs provide something extra for the rest of the student body. The student council sets up the hearts around the school during the month of February and put prom into action, Slam Poetry gives students a chance to write and perform their poetry, and Rocket Crew helps show the new students around and make a good first impression for the freshmen of Northeast. Without any of these clubs Northeast might not be so diverse or accepting of its students. The club members are very dedicated to the school and their club and sometimes have to arrive at school very early and stay very late to make sure their club runs functionally. Being part of a club leaves an impression on the student and the club in general. At the end of the year, the members will have all the hilarious memories of that club experience.

one of the main reasons for high school is learning, Another main reason is socializing with friends, and having some fun with teachers and peers.
common sights or sounds include the administrator's whistle blowing down the hall from students running. Or one of the administrators telling you to show both the front and back of your ID in the lunch line or getting involved in some pointless high chool drama that won't matter in two ears. Northeast is known for big major sports such as Basketball, Baseball, and Football. However, a less known athletic here at the Rock is bowling. The sport is really starting to take a rise and will eventually become a Varsity recognized sport throughout LPS andother districts. Northeast is the number one leader for moking this possible. Matthew Dohmen exclaims, 'We have been pushing this for awhile now, and it is really amazing how many people have come to support our school and the sport of bowling in surrounding districts." Tibon Mansfield, a bowler of the varsity team says, "Some of us will graduate before we get to see bowling as a sanctioned sport. It is amazing, however, that we could be apart of something great like this. Northeast Men and Women both participated in state this year. The boys made it to the top two spots of the bracket. Their opponent was the ferocious Columbus Discoverers. Columbus fought with everything they had, but in the end, our Rockets came out on top with Renzo Mendez being Man of the Match. This is now the second consecutive Class A state title one by the Northeast Club Bowling team. They also won side tournaments, such as the Links Challenge which earned the boys all a nice amount of scholarship money. The boys are looking forward to the next season to see if they can come up on top for a third time.

As children, parents tell them they can be whoever they want to be, they can do anything they set their mind to, or they can go anywhere
• they imagine. With the enormous variety of opportunities, anyone can dream and accomplish anything with the great amount of effort and pursuit. These students at northeast have chosen to come out of their comfort zone. To share things they want to do and places they want to go.To visit the many intriguing cultures and explore the vast scenery around the globe. The world is huge compared to these students and although they are still young they know what they want to do and where they want to go.

Northeast is full of traditions from school spirit to longtime teachers being here. An important part of this school's history is generations of family members going to this school. Some teachers might even remember them.
Having grandparents to parents to even cousins then to you going to Northeast, adds a sense of history to the school. Parents who went to Northeast should be proud of the fact that their students ore going to the same school they went to as teenagers; it's part of keeping the family tradition. The kids that go here who will someday have children go to this school and show them their high school photo. High school life won't ever change: their will always be tests and drama through the school even the neighborhood won't change.
Twenty years ago parents probably went to the same fast food places as their children. But what will change ore the students and the different generations that follow. The Northeast motto "Once a Rocket, Always a Rocker' will always be true no matter what year you graduate or when your parents graduated. No matter what generation we will always be part of Northeast and its family.

••My favorite type of pet has always been a dog. They're loyal, kind, and offer endless affection : My friend Eric says, 'The more people I meet, the more I like my dog.' Funny thought ... - Brendon Urie. Pets are maNelous little creatures. In times of distress they can be there to help. Pets can be seNice animal to help when you need them to help. There's also emotional support animals.
Pets are spectacular when it comes to what they can do. Dogs are fun and energetic, while cats are lazy and on their time playful. Reptiles, farm animals, amphibians, fish, and birds--even though there all different, they all hold a special place in our hearts. Every animal is unique no matter where they came from . They may be smelly but we still love them. It may be awful to clean the litter box, cages, tanks, or the backyards. No matter the amount of times you're cat has clawed your eyes out, you still love them. Or the countless hours you take your dog for a walk in freezing weather, you're doing it for them. With all their flaws we still love every inch of them. Even though the fish or turtles don't do much, they are really cute to look at.
"I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious."-Albert Einstein. According to the dictionary 11 talent 11 is a ··natural endowment of a person. 11 Its an ••ability or natural capacity, 11 which can range from mental talents or physical talents. Whether you're talent is procrastinating or music or anything at" all, we still know you are unique in your own way. Some talents range from ·art, music, and sports. If you're talented and gifted, than you should join a program. Some talented Rockets who answered our call included Katarina Miller-Andersen who does archery and throws knives, Marisa Calnan can draw people's blood very well (she performs phlebotomy). Sang Huynh can dance. Justin Nicholson can beatbox. Natalie Huffman-Nunez can make sound effects. Makaylynn Steele can name off almost every single DC com ics characters under the sun, and Ben Runyan can balance stuff on his nose.
Hidden talents can be more than just a hobby or something that people enjoy to do A lot of these talents are not at all easy to do. Not everybody can balance anything on their nose, definitely not everybody can sit there and name off mostly all DC comics characters, and I know not everybody can draw people's blood.

Our high school is lucky to be ample in such diversity of race and origin. We have an array of cultures and backgrounds that are able to paint our hallways in the most diversified light. Whether this be through the students like Rana and Ranya Aribi, twins who have lived here their entire lives, though born in Iraq. Or Amro Elimam, who is coming from Sudan for a year to experience education in the US. And KJ Jones, born and raised in America but having the opportunity to be integrated in black culture as a black woman. These students have lived a different life through a different community and they are proud to share it.

You may have heard rumors that Northeast has a fourth floor, or that there's a bomb shelter underneath the school. You probably just shrugged them off thinking, "I've gone up the stairs all the way and I can only get to third floor. I know how to count. There's no fourth floor at Northeast." Your Rocket staff heard the same rumors and became curious: the concept of a · bomb shelter being hidden under the school and a whole floor that may or may not exist was very interesting.
Staff research began with asking people about the hidden areas and finding out if they were real places--theywere. Notonlythat, but these places also hold some history about the school.
The school has been renovated many times, and when additions were made to one of these spaces, much of the old school was left intact. With camera in tow and with help from the building staff, your intrepid reporters were able to go to these areas. There was plenty to see. At points it was like being in a different building. For example, in a huge room filled with heaters, air conditioners, water heaters, and even a V8 generator that runs on natural gas, staff thought to themselves, "How did they fit this under the school?"
The fall out shelter was at the bottom of a metal spiral staircase and was basically an underground hallway. It is easy to tell that the school has grown since the Cold War era since the shelter is too small to hold the population of the school has today .
Thanks to Mike Vaughn, Beth Vaughn, and Ed Stecklywe were able to get to these hidden places.

From sub sandwiches to California rolls, there is a wide selection of places to eat in Lincoln. What is the truly best restaurant in Lincoln? Twenty students were asked this exact question and responded with many different locations. The most repeated andhighly praised were chosen for the Top 5 list.
Jimmy Johns, Raising Cane's, High Vibe Cafe, Honest Abe's, and Hiro 88 are where to get a bite to eat. These eateries not only provide amazing food. Their customer service is spot on; it must be to impress such a large number of high school students.
The restaurant that has been the rave lately is High Vibe Cafe. The reason it is so popular is because the menu is all vegan. This generation is very set on health and body image; acai bowls and kale chips are sure to grab attention. College campus location and bright color, shoot High Vibe Cafe to the Top 5 list.
A night downtown with some friends is certain to lead to an empty stomach. A boat full of sushi is a must when near Hiro 88. Not only does it cure that sushi crave, but the inviting atmosphere is sure to be loved.
If burgers are a better decision, Honest Abe's is the place to be. Original shakes to 12 oz double burgers, the list goes on. Walking into a room full of art and Abraham Lincoln gives this burger joint creativity points as well.
- Now, Jimmy Johns and Raising Cane's I are very well known restaurants but for good reason. They are quick and have great food. There are many great eateries in the capital city, but these 5 places are sure to satisfy.

From highs all the way to the lows, school can be an emotional place. This year at Lincoln Northeast, we decided to make a blooper reel just to show you how wacky and bizarre this place can get! The most hilarious things always seem to happen in the classroom or school events and we want you to be a part of it all this year.
"People always make mistakes that are hilarious, but things like that drive me up the wall sometimes. The whole point of a blooper is to live and learn from it, 11 said Chemistry teacher Mrs. Rebecca Essink.
The students of Northeast are all unique and are their own characters. Junior Thomas Brennan told us, 11 I really like this school because everyone gets to be them and don't have to fake who they are. 11
It was a wild ride for this year's students and some of these pictures show just that. We hope you can enjoy some of these wacky and fun pictures from this year.

All of these moments and memories have lead us up to this final "instant " in our high school career. Some of us are exiting the underclassmen stage and heading up with the upperclassmen for a new point in high school But some of us are sending ou r final farewell to
our teachers, friends , and family to venture off into new stages in our lives. We will be creating new '' instants " as we move forward wherever life takes us. To those who still have the time in high school, make every last instant count and create amazing , friendships along the way. Live in that one instant of a moment and make the best of it as you will not get that instant back. Don't forget to look back and reminisce at the goo d and bad times to learn from eve rythi ng All these memories we've c reated o ver the year will be with us for e v er. In an instant, anything can happen , make the most of it and live it well.

Special thanks to the many students, staff, parents, and business contributors for their assistance. Particular thanks to Jordyn Senstock for her photographic assistance.
The Rocket Staff chose 11 ln an lnstant 11 as the theme for the 20 l 8 yearbook. The theme was somewhat inspired by the solar eclipse that occurred at approximately l :02 pm on August 21 , 20 l 7. In making the 20 l 8 Rocket, the staff chose six colors: coral (F0280), orange (F0925 ), blue (F4 700), green (F5320), maroon (F38 l 0), and yellow (Fl 900). They selected Alice, Real Virtue, AvantGuard, Starved, and Mixage as their fonts. The annual was produced using Walsworth's Online Design program. The Walsworth plant in Marcelline, MO, printed 550 copies of the 240 page book on 9 x 12 paper. Greg Adams was Walsworth's sales representative. The books were sold presale for $60 on Rocket Ready Days and for $ 7O thereafter.
The yearbook staff apologizes for any errors.
