•"Footfalls echo in the memory down the passage which we did not take. Towards the door we never opened."
Poem byT. S. Eliot.
In the years passing we have had fun times, bad times, and frustrating times. We have learned many things about our:;elves and we have discovered many openings in life.
We have many years left; years with many doors to open w ith fun and excitin~ experiences. Some open doors we choose to shut, and those experiences will never be known.
Some doors will never be opened. The dec isions we make will affect us throughout the rest of our lives.

A few of the popular places for teens to hang out have been Gateway and East Park. They have been accessible places for people to get together and have some greattimes. Teens like to go to those places because they can go and have a good time, relax or just to get away.
Of course, another popular place is the movies; it is entertaining, relaxing and amusing.
More popular places are Gas 'N Shop, McDonalds, football games, basketball games, volleyball games, and, of course, dances .

During your life in Junior High, hairstyles, clothes, and slang words you use become a big part of your life. These things change within time, but they will remain with us for years to come.
"Hey, did you study for the Social Studies test today?"
"Get serious, you know I had _four hours of English homework to do! "
This is a conversation which is commonly heard around the ninth grade hallway. Teachers ' expectations are higher for ninth graders Course assignments are longer and harder. And as any student will say, teachers kept you busy until the bell rang. This year was a year wh en we made new friends, and many memories that we will remember for the rest of our lives.

8th grade has been a fun and exciting year! Even though most of us are going to miss this year, we'll sure be looking forward to next year!!!
Remember when the school board was thinking of taking up the middle school idea, and we all thought there was a chance of us going to high school next year? People have made many new friends and learned many new things this year.

Teachers had to adjust to the longer school day just like kids. When surveyed, some teachers felt the longer school days were educationally unsound. But everyone has adjusted to the new schedule and has made the best of it.

Misters & Misses is a select vocal group of 8th and 9th grade girls and guys. During the year they perform in a number of concerts in various places. Some of their performances were held in front of the student body, at retirement homes, in Gateway and East Park Plaza, and in front of various organizations.
This group, which includes seven guys and seven girls, adds variety by putting dance steps to the music. If their only goal is to sing and dance and to make people happy, they're succeeding.

Yearbook is a class where students put together the ~yearbook, learn how to use the camera, and some learn darkroom skills. It is usually smaller than a usual class because each student is assigned a section of the yearbook. In this class taking pictures is not all that is done.
Journalism is a class where you learn better writing skills and test them in the "Mickle Missie ." The students are in the eighth and the ninth grades. They also learn to be responsible and get things in before the deadline. The busiest time for the journalism staff is when snowflakes come out.

This year In sports Mickle had the best varsity and reserve teams ever. Both of them finished the year with perfect l 0-0 records, and both were City Champs. This was the first time any girls' team had ever gone undefeated, and both coaches, Motz (Varsity), and Reeder (Reserves) were extremely proud of their teams. The 1986-87 volleyball teams will be remembered for a long time to come.
The boys' basketball teams at Mickle generally do very well every year, and this year was no exception.
