Mr. Mickle graduated from Doane College in 1919 and received his M.A. from the University of Nebraska in 1932.
He was first a principal of University High and later Jackson High until 1940 when he became a counselor at Northeast High school. When Northeast- replaced Jackson High, ~r. Mickle became Director of Counseling at Northeast. He devoted his life to school work and serving people.
Mr. Mickie's greatest joy was to see his young friends succeed in whatever they undertook. He worked for the good of the students and faculty and backed their activities and projects.
Robin Mickle Junior High was named after Mr. Mickle because of his devotion to the school. His family donated the picture which hangs in the office.
Mr. Mickle was known as Mr. Northeast Lincoln and was honored as such on a T. V. show by the students.
"Espanol es If you are a spanish student at Mickle vou would be sure to know that means, "Spanish is fantastic." Mrs. Byrd and Mrs. Mellgren use activities like, skits, repetition, and games to help students learn the Spanish language.

Art is a class in which Mr. Reeder lets students develop projects using a variety of processes, techniques and materials. Depending on the talents and abilities of each student. They work in areas such as printing, drawing, ceramic pots, jewlery, weaving, and fabric dying.
This year in science class, kids have the opportunity to take these five areas of science, principles of science one and two, aerospace, biology and physical science. Mr. McGill is offering a new computer class in the mornings and in the afternoons.

Labwork is only a small part of science.
This year in Health class, Mr. David is keeping his class busy with activities and special projects. His classes are studying various subjects such as. mental health, drugs and disease.
Mr. Quick is teaching his kids the fundamentals of music, such as, scales, theory, and instrumentals techniques. They play three types of music, classic, pop, and folk.
In Orchestra you have to pull the right strings
Orama is a class that involves a great amount of concentration and focus. Mrs. Frederick strives to teach her students the fundamentals of play production and Drama skills. Students develop their techniques through Pantomime. Vocal projection. expression. and characterization.
Basic Studies: Does reading a novel help kids leam history? Does ~riting about Social Studies topics increase English skills? Basic Studies teachers think so. Whether you·~ a 7th grader or an 8th grader. Basic Studies helps students focus on the individual and how he/she fits into the world. Literature and Social Studies do blend well.
English classes are either enjoyed or strongly disliked. Mrs. Larson and ~rs. K~ister do a good job of designmg assignments and tests to help you feam about the parts of speech ~nd other things to do with English hke. compositions, vocabulary, writmg, and language unit.
Social Studies is based on state, national, and local government. The goal of a ninth grader is to develop students' understanding of the constitution and also to respect the laws and rights of all people.
The mathematics courses at Mickle range from 7th grade math to 9th grade accelerated geometry. In math 7th, 8th you learn about the basics like, adding, subtracting, mul- . tiplying, dividing with fractions, and decimals. In the algebra classes you include polynomials, graphs and linear equations etc. In the geometry classes, you use geometric figures, like squares, angles, and math to figure it out.

9th GRADE
Th i s has been a long year for the 9th graders The homework piled up and the pressu 11:::: was on. They had to study more than ever before. Although most classes had homework there were a few such as Typing and Drama 2 which had little or no work, ·but the teachers kept you busy up until the bell rang.

Remember the video games , friendship pins , prairie shirts, and O P. t-shirts? They won't be with us forever, but the memories of 8th grade will.
Jr. High is a hard time for most, considering what they put up with, such as peer pressure and homework.
But our 8th graders have made it through with flying colors. Now they have to worry about next year .

Many teachers are inv olved in much more than teaching in their class rooms
Teachers can be found after school, sponsor in g clubs, coaching and helping students with homework. Teachers take students on field trips to various places, the field trips provide students with a more personal ized way to learn. Putting aside all school activities teachers find time to enjoy their families and friends
