Faculty At Its Best
As you know Mickle has a new principal, Mr . Masek. Both Mickle and Mr Masek had to make an adjustment but he found it was an easy one. He felt that the students and faculty made a genuine effort to make him feel comfortable.
Operation Face Lift is a program that was started last year and continued this year by Mr. Masek and the faculty. They are planning to get a new look in the cafeteria next year.

This year the eighth graders were anxious to get started in school activities. They participated in the school dances, after school sports, and Red Cross activities. It seems that each year there are more and more opportunities to become involved in at Mickle. Yet with all the activity they couldn't forget that next year they would be at the top.

Mickie's Singing Stars of the Future
This year Mrs. Schram has added Swing Choir to her many groups she already teaches. The other groups are: Mixed Chorus , Misses, Misters , 9th grade Girls Chorale , and 7th and 8th grade Girls Chorus. Some of the groups meet during school, others meet outside of school. They perform at Concerts , Assembles , and during Christmas they carol and are involved in many other activities.

Mr. Quick i$ Mickie ' s Instrumental Music teacher. He teaches a number of different instrumental groups, such as: Advanced Band, Orchestra, Stage Band, and Wind Ensemble. During the year these different groups perform many different concerts for parents and students.

An lnventful Year, Thanks to Red Cross
The Mickie ' s Red Cross staff is divided up into monthl y- committees. There are three different types of activities for which the committee plans for each month. There are fund raising projects , charity work , and recreational activities. The fund raising projects are bake sales , car washes and sell i ng Mickle T-shirts. The charity work Red Cross does is Thanksgiving baskets , May baskets for nursing homes , ringing bells for Salvation Army , and Operation Santa Claus The recreational activities are dances , rollerskating parties and Spirit Week

Mrs. Hammer is the new Journalism teacher. She has brought new changes to the Mickle Missie. Some of the new things they have done are re-design the layouts and put pictures in the Christmas issue. Book and movie reviews , sports, features, on students and teachers, puzzles and editorial editorials are the sections.

Something New In P. E.
Co-education is a brand new addition to the P E. curriculum. Some co-ed sports are : volleyball , tennis , softball , soccer , flag football , badminton , ping pong , archery , and dance. It is just getting underway , and the P E. teachers hope to have more next year All the sports in the future should be co-ed , with the exception of contact sports.

Mickle Football '78 An Exceptional Year
Th i s year the 9th grade l i ghtweight team had a better year than the heavyweights The lightweight team had a 6- 1 record and finished with the second place position , and the heavyweights took fifth i n C ity. Also the cross country team finished i n the second place. Better luck next year heavyweights !l
The girl 's Gymnastic team ended the season 5th in the City Anne Hogue was 6th on the vault , Lori Biggs was 10th on the beam , Teri Stewart was 6th on the floor exerise It all added up to good sportmanship and a good season.

A Hectic Season For Basketball
The Boys Basketball team had a close winning season. They ended up with a 7-2 record , but they lost in • the play-off and took 2nd place in the City. Th ey were coached by Mr Sell and Mr. Brigham.
