9th grade. Wow! It came and went so fast. We finally reached th e top after two long years of hard work. We made 9th grade the way wewanted itto be. It really was our year. We were respected by students and put up witt, by teachers. As we received our diplomas a lot of us cried, some laughed, but all of us were relieved.
We will never forget those long days in English and World Studies. It was worth it. Most of us leave Mickle with a feeling of accomplishment. Later Mickle, we'll miss you!

The seventh grade year in many ways is the more difficult of all the years in Ju n ior High . Students find that they must adjust from an elementary school classroom to many different classes and many different teachers.
In seventh grade you meet new people and do a variety of new things. Each year the 7th graders study ancient cultures to modern cultures. They read several booksduring the course of the year and do projects on them.

This year Mr. Quick has tried some new division in the Instrumental Music Department. He has divided advanced Band into two groups; the Concert Band and the Wind Ensemble. He has also changed the schedule to include two Stage Bands, one 1st semester and one 2nd semester.
Vocal Music and Instrumental Music has been involved in a stage production . Stage Band has performed for rest homes and elementary schools. Concert Band, Wind Ensemble and Orchestra have each had four concerts.

The Journalism class publishes the Mickle Missile it consists of news, editorial, feature and sports stories. · Every nine weeks news editors are appointed one of these four. The Journalism class also publishes the Literary Magazine at the end of the year.

The Red Cross has forty elected representatives. They participate in a leadership training workshop and prepare a calendar of activities for the school year which involves- giving service to others and one or two events per month for students.
CPR cours·es were cond ucted for students, teachers and parents in addition to such service projects as visiting nursing homes, helping needy families, ringing bells for the Salvation Army, donating a Nebraska map for classroom uses and sewing ditty bags for Easter Seals and police camps. Activities planned during the school year include dances, roller skating, talent shows, bake sales, appreciation to teachers, spirit week, and student exchange with junior high schools.

They ended the season with only one loss , their record was 6-1 With the help of Mr. Harvey and Mrs Bell , the girl ' s basketball team had an exciting season They worked hard and it showed in the records , Vars ity 5-2 and Reserves 43.

This year the boys in the 7th Grade really did a super job. Their record for the season was 4-1. The 8th Graders did almost as well. Their record was 3-2. We can't wait for next year, they're our "Great Expectations!"

The Cross Country Team had five meets altogether. They placed second in two meets, third in two meets, and second again in the All City Meet. Greg Biggs did very well , he placed second out of sixty people in City. Congrats guys!
9th Grade Girls Gymnastics had a sensational year. They were undefeated. The first meet was against Lefler and Pound, the second meet was against East and Everett and the third meet was against Goodrich and Culler.
