When all is said and done, school is the place that, outside our own homes, has the most impact on our lives, who we are and what we'll become. It's a place where we meet our friends, develop our academic skills and shape our personalities. Middle school, in and of itself, is a destination. A place we look so forward to coming to as 6th graders and are equally delighted to leave as 8th graders. But, when we look back, when we really refJect on the "days of old," we will smile - for all that was and was to come.

And, as with all good things, the end draws near. One would think that it would be easy to get lost in the shuffle from one class to the next in a school with 1100 . studer1ts, but at Lux, for some reason, we don't. We belong to a family of sorts. Our teachers know us well. The students enjoy each other _and, for the · most part, treat each other as expected. Here, we are not just a number. We have a purpose. We are part of a greater whole. What's mqre, we are given the freedom and encouragement to be who we are where we are. That makes Lux a great place to be,.
