It seems that no one can agree on one solid definition for Lux Middle School. And yet it is true that we can agree that Lux is a safe place for friends , education , and success. And what better way to determine a definition of Lux than to ask the students and staff members what Lux means to them? " Lux has a great faculty and staff who work hard to help kids learn at the highest level possible. Most importantly , Lux has great kids ; kid s who are respectful , kind, hard-working , eager to learn--just great kids ," says Mr. Bucher , the principal of Lux Mrs. Dlugosh , the vice -principal , says , " Lux is a place where we care about each other and treat •everyone with respec t " It seems that the students get a lot of recogniti o n at Lux. "The students are the •
purpose and inspiration of Lux ' s exi s tence . They are tomorrow ' s leaders ," says Mrs. Glathar , the 8th grade counselor. In the words of Zach Smith from team 8A , ' 'The students take pride in what they do to make Lux really true. "
"A s we' ll di sc over, mee ting new people and building stronger re lation ships is a huge part of. being in middle school ."
-Nikki Roehrs, 7C
But the staff also takes a lot of credit. " People who work at Lux are dedicated and yet know how to make their jobs fun , even though teaching at the middle school level can be a tremendous challenge, " says Mrs. Mercure , an 8B teacher. "The teachers are always
encouraging us to try harder and to be the best we can. No one is afraid to try ," Paige Snook from team 6E says. And then there is ju st...Lux. Liz Perry of team 7B says , " Lux is a coloration of spirit and diver ity. This school has the view on every standpoint and i s a fabulous and very fortunate s chool. " " I think I still learn something or grow accustomed to something everyday ," says Will Hertzler from team 6E. Overall , " a middle school is meant to provide memories , opportunities, and preparation for the next few steps into high school and college ," says Sydney Johnson, team 7C. So, just like the people at Lux Middle School , these definitions are all very different, but convey the same general message ... " LUX ROCKS!!"
(Mrs. Mercure, team 8B. )

6th graders are still learning the basic definition of Lux but have yet to
• completely understand it's meaning. This. has been a great year for 6th graders and has •
• taught them many things needed for life. The first few days may have been hard but • they made it through the year with few problems. When they found their lockers and
• made it through lunch, they settled in well. Although they have a lot to learn still, they •
• have made a lasting impression on Lux. Good luck for next year 6th graders!!!!!
