Wait a minute Mr. Postman!
I know that stamp was here somewhere.
Steve
Even though we may leave,
A part of us will always be here.
And memories made here will have a special place in our hearts.
And though there may be memories that we wish to lock-up and throw away the key, Maybe someday we will realize,
That in order to appreciate the good times, we must ha e experienced the ad. Here we have reached for the star and some stars ha e fallen.
We have laughed together, but also cried.
We have found new friends, new faces, new experiences, and each day, we've learned more about life.
About life and people and true friend hip.
But now, we must continue learning and growing. And part of growing i ha ing to a "good-bye."
Good-byes are ne er ea , but a part of life. We can onl keep memori
So here' to memori .
And hough this ma be he nd, it is al o he b ginning. - Per phone Bowman

FRIENDSHIP is a golden chain, the links are friends so dear
And like a rare and precious jewel it's treasured more each year
It's clasped together firmly with a love so deep and true, with fond recollections too
Time cant destroy its beauty for as long as memory lives
Years can't erase the pleasures the joy that FRIENDSHI gives
For FRIENDSHIP is a priceless gift that can't be bought or sold
But to have an understanding friend is worth far more than gold
The golden chain of FRIE DSHIP is strong and bles es the kindred hearts together

It's hat f~ t day when e erything i new that friends ar made. T e first smile, the fir h llo is all • takes.
Even though some of us have known each other only a short tune our friendships will grow in years to come. Different styles will come and go but friends are here to stay. Sure, everyone will fight now and then but deep down inside the little squabbles don't really 1nean a thing.
Of course there will be those times of romance. When two friends find something very pecial in co1nmon.
For Seventh grad is the beginning of lifetime friendships and new experience that will n , r b forgott n.

This year the faculty got their seal of approval from the students. They brought out the prime in their teaching skills to make this year the best ever. From teacher appreciation day to championship volleyball games, the teachers always pulled through. Many of the teachers were involved in the program IDM, Instructional Decision Making. This program taught teachers what to consider before making a decision and showed them what kind of decisions have an effect on student learning. Some of the teachers were also involved with a program called SCIP, School Community Intervention Program. This program involves a group of teachers who gather each week to see if they can help students in school who may be failing because of drugs or alcohol. The teachers defmitely wrapped up this year with a Seal of Approval.

Caroling, giving flowers, and delivering holiday treats are just a few things that Student Council did for the community this year. In September, Student Council cosponsored the seventh grade party. For Thanksgiving, Student Council held a studentteacher volleyball game and the proceeds went to the Malone Center. During December, holiday treats were given to the Lefler staff and T-shirts were purcha ed for the Special Olympics contestants. Also Student Council organized a pajama da and a "Jama Jam" in January. With spring approaching, Student Council had a good time deli ering leaderhip to the other students and was considered a 10 on a cale of 1 to 10 in 1986.
"The Frankenstein's Are Back In Town" presented by selected student actors, shook Lefler's stage as the first all-school play of the year. Directed by Ruth Kay, the new drama and English teacher at Lefler, the play was a big success. First semester the third and sixth period drama classes performed comedies "Bigfoot" and "If the B oys Wore the Skirts." Both plays had the audience cheering for more. So Ms. Kay honored their requests and put on another comedy second semester, "Snow White and the Little Men."

In 1968, the Joseph Kennedy Junior Foundation created the Special Olympics. Since then, it has become the largest athletic program for the mentally retarded in the world.
The atmosphere of the Special Olympics is one of determination and success. Special Olympics is sport in the truest sense of the word. The goal is not to be first but to try; not to conquer but to experience. o time is too slow, no distance too small to earn a hug, a ribbon, a cheer.
Records are set in the Special Olympics, not in speed or distance , but in courage, det rmination, and port man hip .
