This year was one of the most important years in the lives of these young stars. fhis year prepared the 9th graders to be stars in life, to have the opportunity to rnake their life a movie, worthy of a box office smash.
In preparation for this Acadamy Award, the 9th graders took on more respon;ibility by starring in behind the scenes after school activities including Student '.: ouncil, Red Cross, Council of Elrond, American Education Week, instrumental md chorus concerts, and serving as assistant directors for teachers and students.
This year's 9th grade stars are now ready for "Broadway" high school.

The eighth graders this year have really contributed a lot to Lefler.
The eighth graders were involved in many different activities. Several were involved in Student Council or Red Cross. Intramural sports, especially basketball, volleyball, and football maintained interests from thi~ class. The music opportunities captured the love for several eighth graders. Nine were involved in the Select Choir. The entire class was involved in representing Lefler in a positive way.
This class will continue to be in pictures.

l The first year here at Lefler for the _seventh graders was a strange en-counter. Some encounters included the seventh grade skating party, after school programs, and sports.
These students have had new ex~periences in meeting new faces, havtng lockers, and attending school :lances.
This past year may be a year which lll the seventh graders will ~~member.

M.L.J.H. Studios is proud to have such hard working Directors, as a part of the crew. Without the care of the Directors, the stars would be out of work.
The Directors shape up the act of the stars, and prepare them for "Take 3." They spend many hours w orking behind the scenes so that the picture will be a hit, and one we can all be proud ofl
The Directors are the backbone of the Motion Picture industry. Without their guidance the film could not be released.

Boy, this looks almost as good as the schools!

Select Choir had a very exciting year and visited many plac s. They performed at: Clark Jeary, Lincoln High, East High~ and Southeast High Schools. They worked very hard all year. They were. invite.d to sing at Elkhorn, Nebraska, for the :Music Educators Association Convention, on November 19, 1982 . In February they sang at Kimball Hall. On May 12 they had their spring concert. All three were o~ding. In Elkhorn they even got a standing ovation. They sang a variety of music, which included singing songs in Latin which was very high class music. Good job Ms. Evans and Select Choir.

Golfing takes patience and concentration, but is a very relaxing sport. Twice a week, the golfers putt nine holes at the Junior Golf Course. Obstacles that golfers have to overcome are sandtraps, a creek, and many trees. Golfing is a challenging sport.
Cross Country is a demanding sport. It requires both distance a nd sprint training. The races at Pione e r Park are 1 ¼ miles long and all n iri e junior highs run at the same tim P. The course contains stretches (, f steep hills and short periods cf flatland running. The Lefler team s ran 2-3 miles a day with wind sprint ., at the end of practice. The team d L l well during the regular season a n l finished 4th in the City.

I want muscles!
On your marks, get set, go!
"Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt." This is the oath that is recited by Special Olympic athletes before each contest. The Special Olympics is built on the spirit and courage of mentally and physically handicaped participants. It's not how fast you are, or how high you can jump, it's how much you try and how hard you want to succeed. The l;>iggest difference between Special Olympics and other sports programs is that every athlete has an equal chance to win. No one goes unrecognized or unrewarded.
