MiJlard Lefler ·Junior High School
Lincoln, Nebraska 1975-1976 l
The teachers are the backbone of the school. Without them, there would be no Lefler.
Out of a total of 48 teachers at Lefler this year, 13 were new. At the teachers' meetings, whi ch were held each week, the teachers discussed ways of improving the Lefler system. s everal new programs were planned.
But the teachers were not the only part of the school faculty. The custodians, the food service personnel, and the office secretaries also played important roles in keeping Lefler going.

The yearbook staff couldn't have done it without Vicki Bagrowski.
We've walked the halls of Junior High, And had our share of fun. We've worked together, all of us, But now those days are done.
For each of us there is a road, And each must find his own, Why must we leave good friends behind, To travel on alone?
As I look down my I ittle road, I know not where it ends, But I shal I carry in my heart The faces of al I my friends.

Of al I the places in this enormous globe, one of the most beautiful works of nature lies in the mountains. The air is clear, and smelling of rain, the trees spread their needles out over the branches, covering the mountains with a dark green coat. The flowers and p Iants seem to make the area into a paradise, while al I the forrest animals fill the mountains with life. Everything is just perfect. But on the other side I ies the city.
--Elmer Mcclaflin
New experiences awaited the eighth graders as they made their way through their second year at Lefler. Class activities, such as the immigration dinners, were one such experience.
But the most novel experience of all was that of being able to I ook back into their past and learn lessons from that, but still being able to 1ook forward into their future. Thus, being in the middle position in school was transformed from a I iabi I ity into an asset.
S ' E V E N T . H G R A D
A step inside strange walls Gives a lonely feeling to those who have come. But the excitement of a new experience soon dispels all fear. New friends and a sense of belonging make them real and a needed part of Lefler.

A lot of people at Lefler got involved in sports this year.
The girls Physical Education at Lefler increased this season. Newly coached extramural teams were added. Such as track and field, basketball, and volleyball. As well as the new events, the girls showed skill in gymnastics by taking first place in the city meet.
Although the boys programs had the same activities as other years, they did well in them. In gymnastics, for example, there were several team members that placed in the city meet.
In the year s to come it is hoped there will be more co-re creational P. E. and possible mini courses av ai I able to further the expandment of th e sports here at Lefler.

Just as ·the seasons of the year change, so, also, do people change. Evolving. Growing. And for each of the stages of human growth, there are experiences to be remembered. People we have known; events which have affected our I ives.
The junior high school years bring such memories. Filled with the discovery of change, it is· an era which w ii I never be forgotten. For these years contain MEMORIES FOR ALL SEASONS.
