In si)(th grade, she discovered her passion and convinced her parents to let her p\av the clarinet in her schOol band. Her \ove for music led her to \earn the tenor sa"ophone later in high school. \ater in life, she learned to play manV, manY more instruments.

After her years in middle and high school playing musie in band, Mrs. Hottovy decided she wanted to become a performer.

"Reality set in so I decided to become a teacher," said Mrs. Hottovy. She discovered she loved teaching middle school students the most,

Mrs. HottobY shared a fond memorY-- a marching band trip to the Harvest of HarmonY competition, She watched her students help each other as theY \earned to become mature young adults.

Her new adventures beyond Irving include starting her own quilting business, judging music competitions, and performing at weddings,

When I hear the name Mrs, HottoVV, I think of a wonderful, kind, and talented person. To me, her name and legacy will be remembered as Irving Middle Schoors greatest band teacher, musician, perfomer, and quilter. Thank you so rnuch, Susan \-\ottovv.... Eva Terr , band student
