not too many people know what kind of hard work is put into the play.
At the beginning of the semester Theater students have visions of being terrific movie stars and being the lead role of the school play, however most of them have never acted in their life. Ms. stewart designs activities to help students prepare to be better actors. She has people do several skits and several pantomimes. Then she adds certain requirements to the skits, such as having the students include stage combat movements, stage movement, stage positions, etc. After all the skits are completed, students choose a play. Then all of-the students are assigned to committees to work on certain parts to produce the play, such as costume , makeup, lighting, etc.
Now you know that even though Theater is mostly fun, there is qulte a bit of work that is needed to put on a good, successful play!

Movie stars, TV stars, famous people ... we've all had our obsessions with them. They're the kind of people we wish we were and knew. A lot of shows are watched often including "7th Heaven," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Dawsons Creek," and "Popular." Also the actors and actre ses in these shows are liked too! Jasmine Lipskey says she likes Sarah Michelle Gellar because she's a good actress and someday she would hope to be an actress too. Rachel Bercutt says she likes David Boreanaz because she likes the way he dressed. "More tight pants," she ad-ded. Liz Osterman says she likes "Popular" because she likes Carly Pope's char-acter that she plays in

They like Tom Green, Adam Sandler, Nicole Sullivan, Chris Rock, and Chris Farley. Ro Hempel said he would change places with Nicole Sµllivan because it would be fun being in the show. Don't forget Carson Daily from "TRL" (Total Request Live). "He has a good personal-ity ," says Tonya O ' Neel.

There are 29 sets of siblings that are in ninth grade/ seventh grade. It has helped out a lot of seventh graders to start off the year knowing that there is someone there there for them, not just their friends. The ninth graders know how it feels to be new to the building and how scary it is to not know a lot of people here.
The older brother or siste:r help out the younger sibling a lot. They help with their homework, with finding their classes, and also help them meet new people. It is very comforting to know that they ha d been through it all too.

Friendships are a big part of a young teenagers life It varies from person to per on , but this is the truth for the majority of teenagers.
Many of the seventh graders have agreed that friends are a big part of their every day life . They all said that being at Irving has helped them become friends with a variety of people.
The seventh graders look for many characteristics i:ri a good friend. The two characteristics that they look for mostly in a friend are , trust and if the person is nice. They pend a va- riety of different hours with their -------------friends. Grant Buckley and Ethan Koozer said that they "I play sports, listen pend about three to five hours a day wi th their friends Ontheotherhand, to Ethan's band, and L a u r e n Lineweber said I run around when I that she spends about twelve hours a day with her friends. am with my Kendra Singleton says, " If I'm not with them , I'm on the phone with friends," Grant said. them ." They do manydifferentac- -------------t1 v 1t1es when they're with each other . Grant described many ac- tivities that he does and he said , "I play sports, listen to Ethan ' s band, and I run around when I am with my friend s." Lauren said , "It is and isn't easy to make new friends. It is because you could have things in common and relate. It isn ' t because you might hate each other and not have anything in common." Ethan responded to this by saying, "Yes, it is ea sy to make new friends because I am a very open person, and I like talking to people. "
The one thing that all seventh graders have agreed on , is that their friendships are very important to them.

By Lindsey Thomsen
The Fall Ball was on Friday November 12th,1999. It was very fun for the seventh graders. It was a good time to have the Fall Ball because it helped the seventh graders meet new people in the beginning of the year. The seventh graders had a lot of fun at the Fall Ball. They had fun dancing, eating, and most of all just being with their friends.
The Fall Ball did have its faults though, almost every seventh grader complained about the time period. They didn't want it right after school, and they didn't want it to be so short. The seventh graders also thought that the music wasn't really good. They wanted to hear a lot more than they did. Liz Zetterman wanted to _ hear Juvenile, Luke Nathenson wanted to hear KoRn, and Andera Lucks wanted to hear more of 98 Degrees. , . Even though there were things not liked about the Fall Ball, it was really fun for the seventh graders that went. So all in all they had a really good time.
Graders having fun grooving to the . music.
