Welcome to Goodrich. This year our school was very creative from the magazine sales to school dances all the way down to the fieldtrips. No matter what our Goodrich students worked harder and got smarter. Good job Goodrich. This yearbook was filled with a lot of memories and good times shared here at Goodrich. Like the new friends all of us have made or the new couples that have been made. G oo drich is not a bad school like people say it is. Yes, there are fights, but it's mostly caused by rumors. No, we don't get high, get drunk, or smoke. We are actually good people at heart. We also have "labels" at Goodrich. From the goths to the preps and from the nerds to the jocks, we all have different interests but we are all the same in each and every way.

The 8th graders w· 1 be leaving after this year. Some will be going to Nor tar, whileothers ·11 be moving to another state. So, we thou tthatthereshouldbeapag edicated to them.
" I will mi my friends that aren't ing to the same high sch ol," aid Chelsea Munger, who's going o North Star. Tiah N rthway, and Wendy Huynh said they d ·ss the cool teachers.
We're really loo ·ng forward to high school. From the dances, t dri ing, to meeting new people. We know hat everything about •t 1 going to be fun!!!
BUT, before we leave, we'd like to ive some advice to the 6 and 7th graders. Like, " tay on mean eachers'good side or th '11 hate you forever!" or "Don't b raid to ask a teacher for help with your locker. It'll ma e your lw= ,~~·;, rut ier." Chelsea's advice is "Do 't start drama. It get's yon no tie d everyone just gets h • d. YOU'''" urt ... inc mg ...
So, afte ·s year, the ei th gtll~ate losing a ch apter of their lives, and beginmng a new 't know what's going to happen next year, but we do know that what we've learned at Goodrich has helped us prepare for what's to come.

It's not the "new" grade and it's not the "old" grade. It's known as the "middle" group. They're just like the rest of us too. They have "groups" like all of us. Then they are the new in-coming 7th Graders from different schools who have no idea what's going on. "I dont like the '7th Grade' drama," admits Amber Rosekrans, a 7th Grader. "But I love being a 7th Grader 'cause we finally get our own lockers and it won't be so easy to steal things like it was last year." While 8th Graders leave and while new 6th Graders come in, 7th Graders still have a year left before its off to high school.

Student Council meets every other Wednesday at 3 :00 after school, to discuss the important issues of our school, and since that's all I really know about student council { decided the best way to learn more was to ask the Student Council president, Felicia Schlicker.
Q: What does Student Council do?
A: We' re the voice of the students, out of school and in the community. We work on projects to improve our school and make it a fun place to be.
Q: What is your job as president?
A: I make sure that deadlines for all projects are met, decide our agendas, things we're talking about and projects we' re working on.
Q: Anything else?
A: Yeah, I motivate the people in student council. I am also in charge of making sure that people are doing what they're supposed to, but I also try to make if fun and not all work.
Q: Do you have any big plans for this year?
A: I would like there to be more dances, and more things for the community to give Goodrich a good name.
Q: Ok last question, What is your 1 biggest goal and how do you wish to achieve it?
A: My biggest goal is to have the best student council committy we've ever had by keeping up to date with students needs. So that's what srudent council is, does, and wants to do, we'll see if they achiev ,! all these goals, hopefully they will

There were very many sports at Goodrich this year for students to play. There were also a lot of great coaches. I just wanted to say to all the coaches thank you for all of your hard work and taking the tirp.e to coach us hereatGoodrich.
7th grade volleyball did great this season with their coaches Ms.Finke and Mrs.Pracheil. A Team did great! They really got down low. B Team knew how to work as a team. Finally, C Team spiked hard to victory.

As the season of sporty Olympian volleyball comes to an end, we look back at what members of the team had to say about this year's experience. As a member of the B-Team Crunchers I know first hand the conditions of praotice and the stress of preparing for the big games. · Another strong member of the B- Team is named Tiah Northway (# 89) and this is what she had to say about her perception of our team: When asked how she felt the season went she replied, "We were undefeated until we played against Irving. " This was quite a competition because both teams were equally matched. Tiah was asked how she prepared for a game physically and mentally and she stated, "I just warm up, get my adrenaline boosted by running around and saying our B-Team Cheer." Tiah said that the team practiced 2 times a week on Thursdays and Fridays for about 1 hour and fifteen minutes each day. At the end of the B-Team
eason they CRUNCHED three out of the five match ups.
Although the A-team did not have a winning season, a very optimistic player and second year team member for the Goodrich Olympians gave her opinion on how she felt the season went for her. Breanna Gausman (#91) said, "We gave it our best and we worked together." She said that some of the teammates are supportive but some would get mad easily. "You just feel better when people are cheering you on instead of yelling at you." Breanna felt that it was easier to play when everyone was rooting the team on and had positive attitudes. The A-Team's anthem said before each game used for getting the team revved up was: "Pump! Pump! Pump it up! Pump that Goodrich spirit up!" Coreyona Reynolds #34 a first year player on the Goodrich Olympians volleyball team had this to say about the C-Team: ·'C-Team, we are THE BEST!" She talked about when she gets nervous she "focuses and concentrates on the game." Coreyona felt that the season was "Kinda/sorta good" but she wanted to see people calling the ball more. C-Team was also undefeated until they played against Irving, which was the second to the last game. Overall all three teams had a good year. There were lots of very talented players. Though we were defeated a few times, we were victorious over all. So we end the season with B-Teams very energetic cheer: "Dynamite! *clap* Our Team is *clap* Dynamite! Our Team is Tick, Tick, Tick, Tick, BOOM Dynamite! Ba, Ba, Ba, BOOM Dynamite!!" Excellent season, girls. Keep that Goodrich spirit up!

50 40 30 20 10 Touchdown!!! That was heard all around Goodrich. 8th grade flag football did great with a 2-2 season and one bye. When we asked some of the players who their favorite football player was out of the NFL Taylor Rocke said "mine is Michael Vick because he is good." When I asked J amaane Jordan he said "LaDdainian Tomlinson." Another question I asked was what position did you play? Taylor Rocke Jamanne Jordan said" I played a lot of different position but my main position was wide receiver" Jamaane Jordan said" "I played my favorite position, quarterback." Even though Taylor's season ended early because he he broke his finger he was a valuable player.
==----- Tyrell going for a J amaane was very good scoring 3 touchdowns in 3 games. All the ready to sack th e quarterback players on the team were really good playing positions from quarterback to comerback. They knew how to work as a team.

On your mark ......... Get set. ............ GO!!!!! Cross Country is an ·interesting sport and many people enjoy it. It seems that many people in Cross Country do it for the thrill. For the exhilaration of the sport to run, win, and even sometimes lose. Many people said it helped . them manage stress to run and have nothing in their way. They practice almost every week. They are really dedicated to it. Many of them have learned many lessons from being on this team. If you like to run than all you have to ·do is say it and you'll be able to join!!!!! Through all the pain I see through that mask which hides you. Behind it's walls you collapse but you've lost sight of the gaps. Through them I see your soul and you say only I can find it. I am sad to say I've found it missing pieces and torn up. You say that I kept the piece after I broke it and ran away. People ay that you deserved it for you hurt me in the same way. I hid my feelings from you, so you wouldn't find the rumors true. But I do ....... of course I do love you.

Nerds and geeks are most commonly perceived as specs on the ground. The true nerds are a lot of times put down by others. The truth? We are just regular people. Seriously, w are. Nerd is just a stereotype of people who wear overalls, thick rimmed glasses, and hav t: buck teeth, but guess what? We'll probably end up being your boss.
Casey M., an 8th grader, defined "popular people" as a group of people who hang out in a large group. Well, don't nerds do that? Sure they do., What makes them nerds then? Nerds is commonly used as a term for others who might act all smart and might b offended by being a goody too shoe and don't like being proved wrong. People say nerd s are annoying and they wear clothes that don't fit them. Jessica Ruhl and Layla Younis said nerds are only friends with nerds. They don't fit in on "the social ladder." They also stand out and they are different. Casey M. says that you become popular by "looking good" and to be a nerd you have to be smai t all the time. "Nerds can be cool at times," said Jessica R. and Rocky T. So be it, this is how life is.
Now here are the definitions from a nerd about nerds and geeks.- Arron J., 8th grader, says nerds are smart. He defined a geek as a wannabe nerd. He also agreed people are born nerds. Arron in particular figured out he was a nerd when he took interest in Dungeons and Dragons, Anime, and Japanese Pop. Finally we talked to yearbook staff member, Daniel Crosby, on the term "dork". He said that dorks are dumb, annoying, and they think they're real nerds. We hope this gave you a different perspective.

Nerd:

This year, we began a new tradition at Goodrich. We held a school wide contest to determine the cover of our 2006-2007 yearbook. We had so many OUTSTANDING entries it was very difficult to choose a winner. After the Yearbook Staff chose the top 5 best entries, Mr. Henninger and I sat down to choose the final winner. The finalists have been displayed by the office all year. The winner was kept a secret all year until June, when yearbooks were distributed. Congatulations to Alyson VanArsdall for submitting the winning cover! Thank you to all Goodrich students who participated in the contest! We hope to see your art work in the future!
I want to thank the entire Yearbook Staff who worked so hard putting together this wonderful book of memories! Also, a huge thank you to Mrs. Whisler for all your guidance on this massive project! We couldn't have done it without you! ! !
