'We{come to the 'Wi{dSide ...
This year has been filled with many wild adventures. As everyone knows, there was the incident with the elevators, and the wires that began to smoke, which then caused us to evacuate the building in cold weather. Phone wiring in the main hall means we now have ringing telephones in the classrooms, which is an interesting addition to class discussions. The 7th grade outpopulated the 8th and 9th grades leaving 9th grade the smallest. This year is also the first year students have to pay for riding a bus to and from school.

Mr. Schulenberg
Mr. William "Bill" Schulenberg is a great teacher, friend and role model for students. Mr. Schulenberg shares a special bond with his students. All of his students are very fond of him. He makes learning fun. Students always look forward to his class because he is on a personal basis with his students.
Being a great teacher and friend, he is someone to look up to, talk with, and trust. He loves wor king with kids and likes seeing them grow and reach their full potential. He enjoys being able to stay in touch with his students.
Family man? Mr. Schulenberg is that too. He is totally nuts about his kids; Andrew, 2 and Kai t 1. After work is done it's time to go see the kids. He loves watching them grow and learn. No one else could love their kids as much as Mr. Schulenberg and his wife •Vicki. Vicki is the coodinator at Fredstrom Elementary.
Inspiring him the most throughout his life, Mr. Schulenberg's parents gave him good solid values and taught him how to love unconditionally. (That shows in his eyes when he talks about his family.)
Born April 1, 1959, and raised in Lincoln, he attended Pershing Elementary, Dawes Jr. High, and Northeast High School. He graduated from Wesleyan University and is now working on his Master's Degree at Doane College.
Mr. Schulenberg loves to play golf. He even has a computerized golf game on his computer. In 1993 he won the Colorado Mombo Golf Championship Award. He also won an award for Fellowship of Christian Athletes--Coach of the Year. He enjoys cooking, biking, reading, and sports of all kin e ;. There are some very talented tudents here at Goodrich. Six of these students made JYO and eight of these students represented Goodrich in the Blair Honor Band. Ms. Lenz wants to make ure all of her students enjoy band. She also hopes all of her student , even those leaving for high school, will continue in band. Keep Practicing! !
Student Counci[
Student Council members can be seen at thecandy cart after school and painting the front windows. Other activities the members sponsored this year were a dance, selling Valentine flowers, and organizing a food drive. Student Council is a place that Goodrich students can refer their ideas and voice their opinions.
Scienc e O{ympiad
Science Olympiad had many good scientists this year. The members competed in the State Competition that was held in April. Some of the hands on experiences members received were experiments such as: designing an egg drop, launching pop bottles, identifying rocks and minerals, and making an airplane. Goodrich has done very well in competitions in the past and hopes to do even better. See all of you scientists next year!!
