"Grimoirel?! What's a Grimoire?" you ask? Basically, a Grimoire is a niagical book (with an unlimited number of pages, of course!) in which is written all the magical spells known by the owner. This year we've borrowed that simple concept; our Grtmoire will be used to hold all your memories of this great year! So, read on, for our tale begins . . .
Jn the years nineteen-hundred eighty-six and eighty-seven, there was a great Keep named Goodrich. In this mighty fortress there dwelt the Seers. Their responsibility was to teach the young folk of the northwestern side of Lincoln. These young folk could be divided into four groups: the Belmonts, the Highlanders, the Westemers, and the Parkers.
The Belmonts resided closest to the Keep. They came from Citadel Belmont; their first taste of formal schooling. Some of the Belmonts were educated at McPhee, a citadel in downtown Lincoln.
The Highlanders lived on the hilly plains northwest of the Keep; they were promoted to Goodrich from Citadel Fredstrom.
From West-Lincoln came the Westerners. They inhabited the area southwest of the Keep. The Great Oak Lake lay directly south of them.
The Parkers came from Air Park. They lived the farthest west from the Keep; their citadel was Arnold. They were separated from the other groups by the mysterious Stonestrip Plains.
Every year, the young ones began a new session of schooling at the Keep. Though some had to travel far, they came, and most spent their time well, for they knew that with every passing hour, they became prepared for the new trials that would challenge them after Goodrich.

men years ago, a new seer entered the Keep. He was experienced, having been a superintendent of schools at a nearby province. Before that, he was a teacher for 16 years. Each year he strived for excellence in teaching, and the Wise recognized his accomplishments. In the time of need, he was sent here, where he has since stayed to guide and teach the folk of the northwestern lands. This seer's name? Kenneth J. Stasch.
Mr. Stasch grew up in Nenzel, Nebraska and graduated from Cody-Kilgore High School. He then travelled to the University ._...,IIJl!lllli.-. ~f"""'!'~-.__, f Nebraska, where he received his Masters degree in math.
Having completed his schooling, he was ready to teach the ways of arithmetic.
Mr. Stasch and his wife, Cathy, have two children; Amy, a sophomore at U .N.L., and Sally, a senior at Pius X High School.
Mr. Stasch has long surpassed the expectations of the Wise. Hehas done well in his teachings of the young folk and most of his students have overcome the problems of Algebra and Geome_ try. We are proud to have Mr. Stasch as an instructor of the !{eep, and to demonstrate our appreciation, we dedicate this book of wisdom in honor of h~ ~-----_,_...,..
and his superior knowledge.

• hen the time is right, these group members are asked to show what they've learned in front of the Wise. They become nervous and wonder what the Wise will think of their performance. mhen the Keep was built, there was a feeling of competition in the air. The competition of man against time, and between the masters who came to be a part of the Keep. This feeling of competition has ever since grown in proportion, and members of the Keep have handled the competition well. Members of every different party have competed for Goodrich against rival Keeps of Lincoln; always in some way rising triumphantly.
A11 kinds of sports determine the ability of the members of the Keep. There is volleyball, football, basketball, wrestling, gymnastics, and other sports that test the strength of the members of Goodrich. They battle valiantly for Goodrich and bring honor to its name. We shall ever be proud!

ong ago, before Goodrich was built, there was a meeting of ~I T the Wise. They needed seers to • teach the folk of the northwestern lands. They decided to build a great fortress, and within this fortress the seers would instruct the young on how to survive after their coming of age. Many came to be tested and many failed. Those who did not fail took their place in the Keep. During their reign as the masters, they learned as much from the young as the young learned from them. Many left for destinations unknown. Yet, there was always another worthy to take their place. eventeen years have passed since the great doors of the Keep were first opened and light fell upon its halls for the first time, and a few of the original masters are left. We are thankful for them and all those who have come after. They have taught us well.

i\fter a year of experience in the Keep, last year's Apprentices have moved up to become Journeymen. They have strived hard to gain respect in _ the Keep, and they are doing far better than what any of the Masters expected. To quote one of the Masters on the subject; "They are an interesting, curious, and exciting group with a willingness to learn."
mith a year of apprenticeship under their belt, their point of view of the Keep has changed. They now think of the Keep as a stepping stone and not as a stumbling block. They help each other through the many trials and they are continuing to progress. They are ambitious; that ambition has shown that they are ready to become Masters.

Now we have come to the pinnacle of the Keep: the 9th Level Masters. The Masters have been members of the Keep for what seemed to be an eternity. At last, they have becomeveterans of the system. Some members of the Keep look up to them as leaders and representatives of the fortress. Others listen to their fables and tales of their past experiences, and sometimes ask for counseling on certain subjects.
IDhe Masters have a long passage ahead of them. After they open and close the doors of the Keep for the last time, they will see a long corridor. At the end of that corridor lies three more years of knowledge and questions . It will be different and many unexpected things will happen, but they will adjust! We wish them all well in their quest for ex, cellence.
