PAINT BRUSH

I keep my paint brush with me Wherever I may go, In case I need to cover up So the real me doesn't show. I'm so afraid to show you me. Afraid of what you'll do - that You might laugh and say mean things. I'm afraid I might lose you.

I'd like to remove all my paint coats To show you the real. true me. But I want you to try and understand. I need you to accept what you see. So if you'll be patient and close your eyes. . I'll strip off all my coats real slow. Please understand how much it hurts To let the real me show.

Now all my coats are all striped off. I feel naked. bare and cold. And if you still love me with all that you see. You are my friend. pure as gold.

I need to save my paint brush though, And hold it in my hand.

I want to keep it handy, In case somebody doesn't understand So please protect me my dear friend And thanks for loving me true. But please let me keep my paint brush with me Until I love me too.

As Ninth Graders, students are able to participate in any high school sport that they choose. The sport must be at either Lincoln High School or Northeast High School, for Dawes Middle School is a feeder school to both of these high schools. What makes th is situation unique, is the fact that these students are fellow classmates during the day but then become rivalries when their athletic teams meet on the playing field or court.

THE ERA .OF TIME IS

It's Time

Finishing the year, you'd think would gTaze us with glee: though leaving us in thought. The smiles we see, the faces we ' ll miss, are seen today , not again, till time is swept and held in our hands of all memories we conceive The hallway passing time we used for everything, but that. now vanishes into the summer 's air. Tears roll down our cheeks as we look back to the thing we'll never see again because we've grown, we've learned, we've aged past this year.
