Fifth Graders En Vogue
Fifth Graders "En Vogue" during the 93-94 year. Several students in Ms. Rownd's 5th grade class, Megan Wagner, Meranda Stearns, and Matt Cullinane said they like to listen to music and hang out with their sixth grade friends. Matt said he likes to draw in his free time. Meranda likes to play games and go to her friends' houses and Megan likes to play outside too. Matt ' s favorite food is lasagna at Valentino's, Megan's is tacos at Taco Bell, and Meranda likes simple hamburgers at McDonald's.

Mixed Chorus
Chris Brock, Jennifer Lowe, and Amy Osmon, first semester mixed chorus students, had mixed reactions to performing in the concert assembly.
Chris said that he felt fine at the concert. He wasn't a bit nervous, he said. He felt good when he sang the songs for others, he added.
Jennifer also said she was nervous and her heart was racing, but it felt good to be on stage.
Amy Osmon said she got more nervous as the concert time grew closer.
All three students agreed that performing for the student body is fun and exciting, even though it is nervewracking.

High School Athletes
This year at Dawes the ninth graders had a choice when it came to sports. They could either stay here and play in intramurals, or play for the High School of their chorce. Seven ninth grade students chose to try out and play for a High School.
It wasn't easy to get on a High School team. First of all they had to find a way to get to the school. Then they had to practice and.try out for the team. Then, if they were good enough, they made the team.
You may wonder why these seven people chose to go and play at a High School level. Jason Mueller said, "There aren't many contact sports at Dawes. If I play this year for a High School it will give me a better chance to play next year!"
Mike Nichols commented, "The High School sports are more competitive , besides, they don't have tennis at Dawes!"

Summer is almost here,
The end of the school year is near.
Now the time has come for us to say goodbye to our new friends and teachers we have just met,
But we know they're all people we'll never forget.
We worked hard to accomplish everything we have, •
