When Mrs. Hahn came to Culler from Wisconsin she had no idea that she ' d sponsor the first yearbook, and every yearbook afterwards. This year was her last year at Culler so it is with great pleasure and affection that we dedicate the 1978-1979 yearbook to Mrs. Marilyn Hahn.

Mrs. Hahn is a native Nebraskan having been born March 13 , at Tekamah, NE. She is living proof that there is no truth (?) to the superstition that bad things happen on Friday the 13th.

When she was 2 ½ years old she contracted polio during the epidemic years of the 1940's. Although her parents~were told that she would never walk again, Mrs. Hahn was able to prove that wrong, receiving physical therapy at the Hattie B. Monroe Home in Omaha. (Above left)

She returned to Tekamah and attended elementary school in a one room school house. She graduated from Tekamah · H.S. in 1960, where she was a Betty Crocker award winner her senior year. (Left)

Mrs. Hahn received her yearbook experience while attending Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska. (Upper right at college-sorority initiation) She served in several capacities incluping editor during those four years. At this time she also acquired the nickname "Shorty" (for obvious reasons) which was given to her by the college president, who slipped and announced her by that name during the formal commencement exercises when she graduated. It was there that her crutches acquired the nicknames of " Charley " and " McCarthy " respectively , although few people can tell them apart. (Lower left)

After graduating " Cum Laude'' • in 1964 , she married her husband who she met while in college.

Her first teaching job was at Henderson Hi g 1 School in Henderson , Minnesota. Frequent ] y s he was asked to go to the back of the line t lunch time , having b een mistaken for one c f the students. (Living in the Valley of the fo ll , Green Giant did littl e to incr e ase her heigh t )

Mrs. Hahn has been at Culler for the last fi v ! years, where she has taught a variety of mat 1 classes. She was sponsor of the first yearboo : and during that time did most of the darkroor 1 work herself. (Although at times the yearboo : staff has accused her of still being "in th ! dark. " ) (Lower right)

Mrs Hahn has been an asset to Culler J uni c : High School. She is an outstanding teache 1, and an outstanding individual. She is frien l to student and faculty alike. We will miss h e • and all wish her the best of luck in the futu n .
