This year an important part of our community was lost. Our art teacher, Karen Ellis, aiea of a suaaen heart attack over Christmas vacation. She Wps only 49.
Karen was a believer who believea in all of us to follow our ambitions ana reach our goals. She was a aeaicatea teacher who wantea to help all of us be proua of ourselves ana our accomplishments. She was also an inspiration to those of us who really love art ana gave us that extra boost of confidence to pursue areams we may have.

"Changing Faces"
From changes in students and staff from the remolding of our halls, we experienced many changes this year. That is why we chose Changing faces as our theme. With the untimely death of our beloved teacher Karen Ellis, our favorite guy Gary Czapla leaving us, and Sarah Meier taking a year off to spend time with her children, we had the pleasure of welcoming three new teachers into our community. Thank you to Tom Sheppard, Mike Stinson, and John Gloe for joining us. Also all the students coming in and going out every quarter. And who can leave out Sept. 11th which helped bring together our nation and gave us a reason to stand up for each other.
The guiding principles are the foundation of our school. If everyone, including the staff, did not practice these principles, we would no longer be able to call ourselves the Bryan Community.

It se em s a s though we have been planning for graduation for our whole lives and now that it ' s finally here , every single one of us has our own feelings of what ' s to come . Some of us already have plans for college , or have a j ob they wi ll be looking into. And so me of us are still unsure wha t i s t he b e st thing to do. The terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 was said to be the Pearl Harbor of our generation.
Together as a school and community we gathered by the flagpole to share a moment of silence with the rest of the United States. We wore miniature f]ags to give respect to those who lost loved ones. We will remember that date as a turning point of our countrys unity.

THE 'FRIEND OF BRYAN SCHOLARSHIP' WAS STARTED IN THE SPRING OF 2000 BY THE STAFF M-EMBERS TO HONOR THOSE STUDENTS WHO HAVE DONE AN OUTSTANDING JOB OF MASTERING THE INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT ACADEMIC CURRICULUM AND HAVE SHOWN PERSEVERANCE AND DETERMINATION IN THEIR PROMISING INTEREST TO PURSUE A POST SECONDARY EDUCATION.
