.. Students attend the Bryan Community by personal choice. The Bryan
program is not an alternative to being suspended or expelled from
an er school. Students choose the Bryan Community because they f.eel able to function more comfortably and appropriately in a school environment that is small and where student participation is emphasized in the form of cooperation.
Bryan students typically enjoy working together in groups with close

Bryan makes you believe in yourself ana reach for your areams. It teaches you nothing is impossible if you want it baa enough. Ana to believe in yourself know matter what other people say.
Bryan is a place where you can come if you're having problems at your ola school. Bryan has a different method of teaching. I think that the teachers here are more happy with their jobs. Maybe they aon't see it as ajob, but something they e,Voy aoing. Bryan is more acceptable of the mistakes you make in your life growing up. Ana they want to help you succeea.

Bryan means that I can get my diploma in a way that other High Schools can't offer and it is through experience. You learn to deal with people from all types of cultures and backgrounas. It gets you to listen to peoples' ideas and opinions.
Bryan is a school where we all work together to build courage and strength. It's also a fun environment.

I came to Bryan because I want to graduate. I knew that if I came here and did my work, then I would graduate. I also came here to make a better life for my daughter and my wife. Bryan gives me a wonderful outlook about school. Bryan is way better than any other high school. The classes are alot less crowded, and they are easier. r SERVICE LEARNING
Some students are working on the Courtyard for Community Service hours and they will continue working on it unti I it is completed.
I came to Bryan because I hated school. It scared me. I didn't even learn anything and basically never went. Then I went to talk to the school counselor who told me to get my G.E.D. I didn't want to do that so I came to Bryan.
SERVICE LEARNING
Students helped children carve pumpkins at Malone Center. Afterwards, we read books to the them.

Another project in Scott and Linda's class was teaching elementary students science experiments. The name of this was chemicals "R US". Another lesson we did was called "snailing."

FIELD TRIPS
Holmes Lake, Wilderness Park, Pioneers Park, Antelope Park, the Court House, Morrill Hall, The Nebraska State Capitol Building, Folsom Children's Zoo, University i\rt Museum the list goes on and on. We have been all over the city this year. Once again showing that learning happens outside the classroom walls all the time.
For recreation, we went bowling, played indoor soccer , went ice skating, and went to the YMCA .

FIELD TRIPS
Last fall and this spring students went to the ropes course where we learned about trust, leadership, and teamwork. Students said they recommend it because it is fun. •rt·s a great learning experience, • said Derrick Nelson.
After an in-depth study of the death penalty, students visited The State Penitentiary.
