THREE PRIMARY CATEGORIES OF GRAN
Need-Based Grants Our mission is to extend the opportunity to attend Loyola to students across the entire region. Financial aid grants are awarded to families with demonstrated financial need as determined through an application process via FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment.
Academic Merit Scholarships We provide multiple levels of scholarship grants to students who display outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and involvement in co-curricular activities. Recipients are identified during the admissions process.
Athletics & Co-Curricular Scholarships Program directors, activity moderators, and coaches partner with our Admissions team to identify candidates for awards in a variety of areas, including speech and debate, interscholastic athletics, and the arts.

MAGIS AWARDS
Merit Awards are given to Loyola’s top admissions candidates for their academic achievements and their anticipated success in our honors program. Further, the scholarships serve as recognition of those who will be leaders among their class and within the Loyola community.
To recognize admissions candidates who distinguish themselves through active participation in co-curricular activities, dedication to academic pursuits, and a commitment to serving others, we award Magis scholarships to boys entering grades 6 and 9 that recognize their ability to go above and beyond.
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR MILITARY AND FIRST RESPONDERS
ARCHDIOCESE TEACHER SCHOLARSHIPS
To honor their service and sacrifice, scholarships are available to sons of active duty military, police officers, and career firefighter/EMTs. $5,000 scholarship awards are made to incoming 9th graders for each of his four years at Loyola.
We are pleased to offer scholarships to sons of full-time teachers employed by an Archdiocese of Baltimore elementary/middle school. The $5,000 scholarship award is offered to incoming 9th grade students only and is applied to each of his four years at Loyola.

HBCU TEACHER SCHOLARSHIPS
Recognizing that a diverse student body promotes cultural engagement as well as important academic skills, $5,000 scholarship awards are made to incoming 9th grade students whose parents work at a Historically Black College or University for each of the students’ four years.
FAQS Will applying for grants & awards affect my acceptance? No. The aid award process is independent of the admissions review and acceptance process. Do I need to complete a separate application for each child? No. Families should complete only one application. Instead, list each applying for aid as a separate applicant. If a family already uses FACTS Grant & Aid for a child at another school, they may simply include Loyola as a recipient school and the name of the Loyola applicant/student. If I am divorced, who fills out the application? Each parent/guardian must complete his or her own financial application. If either of the parents/guardians has remarried, he or she must include the financial information of the new spouse. If any application is incomplete, Loyola reserves the right to offer a smaller award or no award. Do I need to apply for financial aid each year? Yes. Families receiving need-based awards must submit a new application and update their tax information each year. I can’t upload my tax documents. What should I do? For any required assistance, please call FACTS at 866-441-4637. If my application is not complete by January 2nd, will we still receive aid? Families may submit an application after January 2nd. However, preference is given to those families submitting by the deadline. Is there an income cut-off for financial aid? No. Income is the primary factor used to determine need-based aid; however, other factors are also taken into account including household size, the number of dependents in tuition-paying schools, and net worth. Does Loyola Blakefield fund my entire financial need? No. Loyola Blakefield’s financial aid policy seeks to balance the funding of a family’s unmet need with an equitable distribution of available aid among applying families. Therefore, Loyola may only fund a portion of any family’s need.

FINANCIAL AID CHECKLIST Loyola Blakefield uses FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment (FACTS) to manage the financial process. FACTS helps Loyola assess a family’s ability to pay school costs and make objective and fair financial aid decisions. Based on the results of the financial aid application, FACTS estimates the amount a family can contribute to tuition and fees. Loyola uses this estimate, as well as the school’s budget and financial aid policies, as a starting point for determining financial aid awards. Log on to the FACTS website at online.factsmgt.com/aid Complete the Financial Aid Application Provide supporting documentation 2019 Federal Tax Returns and 2020 W2s must be uploaded. Please see the Financial Aid Calendar for deadlines. Loyola will not consider an application until all documents are received. Submit your application
