A Jesuit School

Inspired Academics

Jesuit schools are among the best in the world, and we are proud to serve our region by providing an unrivaled spiritual and educational experience in the Ignatian tradition. Our students achieve academic excellence here as the beginning of a lifelong discipline and pursuit, inseparable from faith and serving others. We call this process “educating the whole person” or Cura Personalis.

Students benefit from our unique formation, which holds as its first priority the personal care and support of the individual student. Our academic program prepares young men for a life of inquiry, learning, decision-making, and insight. Students explore diverse course offerings and come to read more closely, think more carefully, and write more clearly. We ensure the appropriate level of support and rigor that is best for the individual student — one of the many reasons your son will succeed in college and beyond.

COMMUNITY The Loyola experience is shared by faculty, staff, students, families, alumni, and friends. Whether we are coming together to support our mission, gathering for spiritual celebrations, or working alongside one another to serve the greater good, everyone contributes to the vibrancy and impact of Loyola Blakefield.

Spiritual + valuesbased Education Retreats, service, and brotherhood are central to the experience of every student. More than just a place for academic growth, boys explore their faith, stretch beyond their comfort zones, and set a course toward becoming a servant-leader — a unique Jesuit formation that simply cannot be replicated elsewhere.

INCLUSION We believe in the power and necessity of diversity to achieve a greater richness of ideas and to prepare our Dons to be leaders in an increasingly global community. Our students enjoy a campus that draws from the entire metropolitan region, bringing young men who possess a variety of talents and perspectives. Each blazes his own path as he grows during his time here. We celebrate the engineerartist, the poet-athlete, the cyber-musician and everything in between.

AN UNRIVALED LEARNING EXPERIENCE The Loyola experience is rooted in the same Jesuit traditions that have helped shape some of the finest schools in the world. A Loyola student encounters a wide variety of courses, is guided by master teachers, and is challenged and supported every step of the way.

EDUCATING FOR THE GREATER GOOD

Middle School

Our Dons learn math, science, language arts, history, and religion in an environment that ties together subjects, real-world applications, life experiences, and opportunities to provide service to others outside the classroom. Our teachers are experts at guiding our young men to recognize connections between what they learn and what they do and demonstrating the importance of applying their talents for the greater good.

Students in grades 6–8 experience an academic program that ignites curiosity, stretches their imagination, and ultimately leads to success at the high school level. They are also actively integrated with grades 9–12 for all aspects of student life, including sporting events, student forums, Mass, pep rally, mentorship opportunities, and more! Teachers of Dons in grades 6–8 tailor lessons and activities to specifically meet boys at their level and take advantage of the abundant resources that our campus has to offer.

Athletics

Clubs + Activities

Our athletics program is an indispensable part of our mission to educate the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Our coaching staff stresses competing with character. That means keeping one’s humanity, grace, and perspective no matter the outcome of an individual or team competition.

Part of what makes Loyola a fun and engaging place for our Dons is the variety of co-curricular opportunities in the midst of a school culture that encourages everyone to get involved!

Our Dons thrive on competition. Take our swim team, for example, which has won 20 MIAA championships in the past 22 years. Our student-athletes receive scholarships to play at some of the most competitive Division I, II, and III colleges and universities in the nation.
