Merciful God, we confess that we often welcome you with our words, but resist you when you challenge us to change. We grow comfortable with what benefits us, even when it is not just or loving. Turn over the tables in our hearts that keep us from loving you and our neighbors fully. Make us people who seek your justice, practice your mercy, and walk in your ways. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us in your truth. Amen.
