TECHNICAL TIMELINE OF INVENTIONS Caldaro’s history includes a wealth of innovations, in line with the Swedish tradition of internationally well-known innovations. 1987 The seed for Caldaro was laid by creating an OEM department within the public Bergman & Beving group in Sweden. From its beginning the focus was to supply quality industrial products like eg sensors and joysticks manufactured by Sakae Tsushin in Japan.
1992 The palm grip joystick (called “mini spak” in Sweden) is developed together with Sakae. The revolutionary ergonomic design takes the breath of the forestry machine market.
1996 ISO certified by ISO 9001 Electrical Pedals or Foot Controls are brought to the market by Caldaro.
1998 Caldaro’s touch screens and trackballs become successful, especially within the medical industry.
1993 The success with HMI solutions at the OEM department, contributes to Maths Wahlbeck and Tomas Pehrsson to reform the HMI department into a company, part of the Bergman & Beving. Caldaro AB is founded.
2003 The Viper joystick is a success! Its modular design opens many doors. The C11 fingertip joystick with detents is developed for the agricultural market.
2001 Caldaro opens in the UK. Caldaro opens in Germany. The Bergman & Beving group split and formed the public Addtech group that Caldaro AB still belongs to. Caldaro starts to supply joysticks with contactless Hall-effect sensors.

2004 The contactless presence sensor (deadmans function) is developed for the Viper grip.
2008 Caldaro registers a patent for its pulley/height sensor. More than 200,000 units have been sold.
2011 Launches heavy duty joystick base C14.
2017 Pedal P09 launched on the market
2012 Caldaro Inc. opens in Hudson, Wisconsin
2013 Caldaro in Flen starts production of marine controls.
2016 The new joystick base C15 is presented.

Caldaro is a Swedish leading OEM supplier of HMI (Human Hudson Local office Machine Interface) controllers Caldaro Inc to market leaders across application spectrum from the toughest working environments Letchworth to high-precision fine tuned Sales medical equipment. Historically, industrial joystick manufacturers have been predominantly local, but Caldaro established itself early on an international level. Caldaro AB, founded 1993, was originally a part of the Bergman & Beving Group, after a split in 2001 Caldaro became a part of Addtech AB, which has been listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange ever since. Caldaro is ISO certified for both 9001 and 14001.

THE STRONGEST SHAFT Made of Swedish stainless steel, manufactured in one single piece with extended dimensions. This makes it practically impossible to bend. It endures up to 50 kg pressure. If, against all odds, the C15 breaks, it breaks in a way that it is still functional enough to bring the machine to a safe state. We call this safety feature “graceful dead”.
THE TOUGHEST RUBBER The rubber mixture endures the toughest conditions under and above ground. Salt, minerals, water, sun and UV light can be dangerous and crack many rubber components. We have incorporated carefully planned testing leading to a rubber compound that tolerates all these challenges over widely-ranging temperatures.
THE BEST MATERIALS The best material has been chosen for each component. All of them to be optimised together as a complete joystick. Yet still possible to produce in an efficient way.
SAFE SIGNALS The C15 offers single, single + direction switches, double or double independent sensors. The double independent variant meets most safety demands with full redundancy.
FLEXIBLE TO CONFIGURE The C15 is created to work with a wide range of electric specifications. The C15 will be available with a palette of handles to be suitable for every situation. Custom-made handles can be done, one example of a custommade handle you find to the right. Choose between operating angles of 9, 12 or 20 degrees.
PROTECTED ELECTRONICS The circuit board and electronics are mounted under the base of the shaft and potted in a protective compound. This completely protects the circuit board such that it becomes impervious to degradation and short circuits from threats such as salt mist, water, lubricants, and virtually all chemicals.
