What’s your perfect day?
We like to bike along the Cape Cod Canal to the Gray Gables Market for a cup of coffee and a made to order breakfast sandwich or a fresh baked good.
SPEND YOUR MORNING:
Close by is Gray Gables which is a tucked away picturesque neighborhood that has a beach popular with its residents. Beach stickers are required which is why we like getting to it by bike. Nearby and accessible only by walking or biking is the Mashnee Island causeway, which is a thin stretch of land with beaches on both sides and views of the ship entering and leaving the canal.
GRAB LUNCH AT:
Chart Room for a lobster roll and a mudslide or margarita overlooking the Red Brook Harbor marina.
SPEND YOUR AFTERNOON:
Stop in at Cataumet Fish for the best foodie/fish lover/gift shop...sustainable seafood on Cape Cod. Bourne Conservation Trust has many trails along the water’s edge or cranberry bogs. A favorite is Monk’s Cove for a dog friendly trail that ends on a secluded beach.
INDULGE IN A TREAT AT:
Somerset Ice Cream is a summer tradition for the whole family.
END YOUR DAY AT:
Lobster Trap for a beautiful sunset on the water and the best Cape Cod food and drinks.
BONUS – HIDDEN GEM OR INSIDER TIP:
A beach hike along the water’s edge called Lawrence Island or Grasslands by locals goes around Squeteague Harbor in Cataumet.

My go-to for morning coffee is Coffee Obsession (in Falmouth village or Woods Hole) for great vibes, great coffee and the Woods Hole location does food to order.
SPEND YOUR MORNING:
A few of my favorite spots to start my day are Chapoquoit Beach, The Knob or Beebe Woods. Falmouth has tons of great walking/hiking trails. And of course the Shining Sea Bike path! Perfect for riders of all ages and skill levels.
GRAB LUNCH AT:
My fave lunch spot is Pickle Jar Kitchen! All of their sandwiches are yummy but don’t forget to order pickle chips! You will be glad you did! And their bloody marys are epic.
SPEND YOUR AFTERNOON:
Main St. has tons of great shops but a few of my favorites include Eastman’s Home and Hardware (way more than hardware, they have an amazing kitchen shop attached), Eight Cousins which now has two locations, one for kids and one for adults. For some salty sea air head down to Woods Hole and grab lunch at Captain Kidd or Quicks Hole Taqueria and check out Masterson Made for stylish home decor, artwork and handmade cutting boards.
INDULGE IN A TREAT AT:
Maison Villatte (or just “the French Bakery” to locals) cannot be beat for indulgent French pastries and breads. There is often a line but it’s worth the wait!
END YOUR DAY AT:
We have so many great restaurants in Falmouth but our go-to for special occasions or casual date nights alike are Water St. Kitchen in Woods Hole or Osteria la Civetta in Falmouth village. At la Civetta you will find a romantic cozy atmosphere, a dreamy patio during the warmer seasons, and the freshest handmade pastas.

your perfect day?
I love starting the day with a chai tea latte from Nirvana if I’m on the go. My favorite morning walk is on secluded Long Beach If I have time to meet friends, my go to spot is Captain David Kelley House - breakfast with scones and a show! Then a must stop right next door is the 1856 Country Store for gifts & penny candy.
SPEND YOUR MORNING:
If I’m in the mood for a hike I hit up the loop around Hathaway’s Pond (great dog park too!). If I want to get a little shopping in I’m either walking around Main St. Osterville or at the Plum Porch in the Mills. Or a pit stop at Fancy’s Market for some grocery items.

I start my day walking the dog at Thompsons Field. It is a large recreation area with. as you may guess, a couple large fields surrounded by trails through the woods. It is one of the few places on Cape Cod where you can walk dogs off leash, and a favorite place for local dog owners.
SPEND YOUR MORNING:
I have a boat, so when possible I launch out of Saquatucket Harbor in Harwichport. From there it is a quick and beautiful run to the tip of Monomoy Island to catch some stripers!
GRAB LUNCH AT:
I love Perks Coffee Shop. They have an awesome outdoor patio and bar area which is great both for morning coffee, or afternoon beers. They sometimes have live acoustic entertainment too!
SPEND YOUR AFTERNOON:
Nearby to the Main St. area is beautiful Bank St. Beach. The water is warm and the views are really nice. One of the best “south side” beaches on Cape Cod!
INDULGE IN A TREAT AT:
My family loves ice cream at Sweet Izzy!
END YOUR DAY AT:
At night my wife and I love to go to Three Monkeys. It is funky and lively with great sushi and people watching. We also love the pizza and fire pit at nearby Ember!
BONUS – HIDDEN GEM OR INSIDER TIP:
On Wednesdays in the summer the town chamber of commerce hosts “Port Summer Nights”, with live music and other entertainment. Makes for a fun night especially when combined with a visit to Perks Beer Garden!

START YOUR DAY AT:
Three Fins Coffee opened 5 minutes from my house! I take my latte to go and watch the sunrise at Light House Beach
SPEND YOUR MORNING:
Morning errands include the Transfer Station and I always leave happy after chatting with the crew there, followed by a cozy breakfast at Hanger B. Their Eggs Benny is the creamiest texture of a perfectly poached egg with the tangy hollandaise sauce. This is consumed with joy. Nearby is Heather Rose & Co., where I pick up flowers for the shop. Heather Rose & Co. is a lovely and local florist offering unique gifts, bouquets for special occasions and home decor.
GRAB LUNCH AT:
On a beautiful day, the Chatham Fish Pier is a must. Everything on the menu is fresh. You can also watch local fishermen unload their catch and enjoy seal sightings in the harbor.
SPEND YOUR AFTERNOON:
Walk the loop! Park at Oyster Pond, cross the Mitchell River Bridge aka the Clickity Clack Bridge, pass the Coast Guard Station and Light House Beach and make your way through Main St. to visit all the shops!
INDULGE IN A TREAT AT:
Short n Sweet. It’s our happy place.
END YOUR DAY AT:
Namazu Ramen is Chatham’s new ramen spot and it’s top tier. My 11 year old wishes he can eat here every night.
BONUS – HIDDEN GEM OR INSIDER TIP:
Sylvan’s Gardens on Old Main St. Spring treasures abound: thousands of bulbs cluster throughout the gardens, Vincas blanket the grounds and Sweet Bay Magnolia wafts its sweet lemon fragrance throughout the trails. More importantly, it has an ADA approved walking path!

But if I’m already in town center, I like drive out to Great Island and perch on the bay beach dune with my coffee. If I’m being honest, I’ll also try to squeeze in a morning Reformer Pilates class at Heart Core
GRAB LUNCH AT:

SPEND YOUR AFTERNOON:
Start on the west end of Main St. and browse the many shops and galleries, stop at Uncle Tim’s Bridge, and eventually meander down Commercial St. to Wellfleet Marina. If you’ve got kids, the Wellfleet Public Library is seriously a GEM. End the afternoon walk at the Pearl for happy hour + live music — order the tuna sashimi and a Farmer’s Daughter
INDULGE IN A TREAT AT:
PJs for a black raspberry / coffee twist cone – they’re the only ones who have it.
END YOUR DAY AT:
If the weather is nice, a thin-crust pizza and cocktail at the outside bar at Flying Fish gives a great sunset. But my other ideal evening is to take the pizza to-go and head to the Wellfleet Drive-In!

SPEND YOUR AFTERNOON:
Truro is unique because there isn’t a ton of commerce but we do have some hidden gems for sure. Captain’s Choice is a great spot for a drink and some live music so check them out for sure.

Grab a drink at KoHi Coffee and a malasada at the Portuguese Bakery or if you’re driving into town, stop on the outskirts of town at Day’s Market for the best old-school breakfast sandwich. Or if you’re looking for something fancier try the lobster Benedict. If you’re already in town, jump on your bike and head out there for one of the most scenic morning rides you’ll ever experience.
SPEND YOUR MORNING:

GRAB LUNCH AT:
Grab some authentic Mexican food at Rosie’s Cantina and people watch from their outdoor picnic tables. Everything on the menu is great, but I gravitate toward anything with the stringy Oaxaca cheese.
SPEND YOUR AFTERNOON:
Spend your time gallery hopping and shopping on Commercial St.. For art, don’t miss the phenomenal collection at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum. For a vibrant collection of living, local Provincetown artists, check out Four Eleven Gallery. For retail, you can never go wrong with a piece of ephemera from the John Derian Company; some nautical homewares from Clove and Creek; or a t-shirt from the Old Baby.
INDULGE IN A TREAT AT:
Head to the West End of town and, along the way, choose your own adventure. Stop at the Provincetown Fudge Factory for some peanut butter cups and sea salt caramels; Perry’s Fine Wine and Liquors for a savory treat like locally-made Serge’s Spicy Pickles paired with some fancy meats, cheeses and crackers; or Grab a fresh baked goodie or two from Relish Bakery and take it down to the beach in front of the West End parking lot down the street.
