SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE

Lovejoy Community,

We are extremely grateful for the Foundation for Lovejoy Schools and the many donors that generously support the positive impact they make on Lovejoy ISD. On Wednesday morning, Foundation board members visited each Lovejoy campus and handed out envelopes that contained an unexpected holiday bonus to teachers and staff. It is not just what was inside each envelope that mattered. It was what each envelope represented. Each envelope represented love, respect, and gratitude. The reactions of the teachers, staff, and their students were priceless. I wish each of you could have seen and felt the yelps of joy and tears of gratitude.

As we move into the holiday break, I look back with pride and forward with excitement. I am so proud of our students’ growth and accomplishments over the first semester. Th May your holidays be There is only ONE LOV

Kordel on a Bell

Santa's workshop, aka Lovejoy Human Resources, has been bringing holiday magic to our LISD campuses and staff. They have been helping our resident Elf, Kordel on a Bell, sneak from campus to campus where she hides until staff members find her and win a special treat! You might notice that our elf and Superintendent Kordel bare a stricking resemblance!

District Personnel Update

Jennifer Duplessis, Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations, has been named as the new Chief Human Resources Officer for Collin College. We appreciate Dr. Duplessis' contributions to Lovejoy ISD and wish her every success in her new role at Collin College. Dr. Duplessis will be with us until January 6th. We are extremely fortunate to have secured a highly experienced interim CFO, Deborah Cabrerea, MBA, RTSBA. Ms. Cabrera is a retired Chief Financial Officer and consultant with extensive experience. Ms. Cabrera has previous experience in Richardson ISD and Irving ISD. Additionally, following her retirement, she has held numerous interim CFO positions. Ms. Cabrera has already begun the process of transitioning to the interim role so that we can hit the ground running in January. We will post the position soon and look forward to recruiting an excellent leader to join our district.
