It's official! Last Friday night, the University InterscholasticLeaguepresenteduswiththe20232024 Conference 5A Lone Star Cup at halftime of the football game. Students from academic, fine arts, and athletic extracurricular programs joined us on the field to accept the award. It was incredibly special to celebrate this achievement with our students, staff, and community. The best part of the evening was witnessing their joy in contributing contributing in such a significant way to Lovejoy ISD’s legacy of excellence. A specialthankyoutoUILDirectorofAthletics,RayZepeda,andTaschaRobinson ofTexasFarmBureauInsuranceforpresentingandsponsoringthisaward.
Beforethegame,wehostedaLoneStarCupreceptionsponsoredbyJostens. OurcheerleadersandPTOdidanamazingjobwithdecorations,andourband, colorguard,choir,orchestra,Majestics,andcheerleadersprovidedoutstanding performances.
The UIL Lone Star Cup is awarded annually to just six high schools in Texas, based on their overall team achievement in sanctioned District and State Championships. Winning the Lone Star Cup is a result of Lovejoy High School students’ relentless commitment to excellence in academics, the arts, and athletics. This achievement would not be possible without our incredible students,dedicatededucators,andengagedparents.Weweretrulygratefulto sharethiscelebrationwithourentirecommunity.

Lovejoy High School was honored to celebrate winning the UIL 2023-2024 Conference5ALoneStarCupwithourstudents,staffandcommunityatFriday's varsityfootballgame.LovejoyISDhostedaLoneStarCupreception,sponsored by Jostens, prior to the game and the University Interscholastic League (UIL) presentedLovejoystudentsandstafftheofficialtrophyduringhalftime.
TheUILLoneStarCupisawardedannuallytojustsixschoolsinTexasbasedon theiroverallteamachievementinsanctionedDistrictandStateChampionships.
Superintendent Kordel stated, “Winning the Lone Star Cup is a product of Lovejoy High School students’ relentless commitment to excellence in academics, the arts, and athletics. An achievement of this significance is not possible without incredible students, dedicated educators, and engaged parents. We are incredibly grateful to share this celebration with our entire community.”

Leadership Lovejoy is designed to provide community participants with a comprehensive overviewoftheschooldistrictbydepartmentand district leadership. The objective is to provide information as well as an opportunity to ask questionsinaninteractiveformat.Thestructureof Leadership Lovejoy is in-person, full-day, workshops. The Lovejoy ISD Board Academy is designed for anyone considering public service on the Board of Trustees as those that would like to learn more about local school district governance. School Board Members will explain the roles and responsibilities of serving on the Board, review the state-
state-required training requirements, and discuss the difference between Boardoversightandday-to-dayoperationsofthedistrict.Informationwillalso be shared on the guidance, logistics, and timelines to run for a Board of Trustees seat. The Board Academy will be on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from1:00p.m.to3:00p.m.
Come meet and connect with other parents and district personnel to learn about our SAGE (Special and Gifted Education) program plans for the year! Coffeeandlightsnackswillbeprovided.

Both the boys and the girls teams remain ranked at the #1 spot in Texas 5A. TheywillcompeteinSouthlakethisSaturday.
On September 6th there was a Lovejoy Cross Country reunion in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Five of the girls from the 2021 State Championship team all competed on the same course at the same time, but this time for opposing teams! We are so proud of these girls for chasing their collegiate dreams and stillremainingbestfriendsdespitenowwearingdifferentuniforms!Therunners are: Amy Morefield (Tulsa), Katie Armstrong (OSU), Kailey Littlefield (OSU), PeytonBenson(OU)andSaraMorefield(Tulsa).
