LovejoyCommunity,

Congratulations on completing our first full week of the 2024-2025 school year! As we conclude this milestone, I want to emphasize the high value we place on the partnership between our schools and families.Yourinvolvementandsupportarecrucialto oursuccess.

I encourage you to consider joining the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at your child’s school.

Safety and security is our first priority. This weekend, I ask that you take the opportunity to talk with your children about the impact of their words as well as reportinganyconcerns.Encouragethemnottokeepconcernstothemselves, but to share them with you or a school administrator. Reports can also be made anonymously online at https://lovejoy-tx.safeschoolsalert.com/. We appreciate your family's partnership with the school in having important conversations that helpkeepourstudentssafe.

This week, we celebrated Taco Tuesday with breakfast tacos for the amazing teachers and staff at Sloan Creek Intermediate School. As we expressed our appreciation for the Sloan Creek Team, they were pleasantly surprised with an extra treat warm, homemade chocolate chip cookies from Holly Lewis, a parent andsubstituteteacher, whooftenbringsthesedeliciouscookiesforthestaff.Iplan to ask Holly to substitute in the Red Building because who doesn’t want warm homemadechocolatechipcookies?

It is heartwarming to see how people throughout Lovejoy continuously spread love and joy. I witness acts of kindness like this every day, which is one of the reasons our school community is so uniquely special.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the Lovejoy Visual Arts Art Sale taking place next Saturday, August24,attheLucasFarmersMarket.Themarket will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., right next Hall. to Lucas City Hall. Our Lovejoy Visual Arts Program is outstanding, and I am confidentyouwillbeimpressedbytheartistryondisplay.

Thank you for your continued support. Wishing you and your family a weekend filledwithloveandjoy.

Please plan to allow for additional drive time for the first two weeks of school. Increased traffic volume and slower traffic flow during arrival and dismissal will cause carpool to take longer than normal for the first two weeksofschool.
