MESSAGE FROM THE Lovejoy Community,
Superintendent
What a wonderful first three days of school! Our classrooms and hallways have been filled with excitement and smiles as we have welcomed students back. It has been such a joy seeing everyone reconnect with friends, meet their teachers, and begin what we know will be a fantastic school year. We are off to a great start! There is something special about the first week of school. Being at our schools and in classrooms this week, I have had the opportunity to see that excitement firsthand. The familiar sounds have returned. Hallways are alive. Classrooms are filled with curiosity. Legacy of Excellence This morning, the Texas Education Agency released the 2026 district and campus accountability ratings, and Lovejoy ISD earned A ratings across the board. Lovejoy High School earned all seven available distinctions, a tremendous accomplishment reflecting exceptional performance in academic achievement, student growth, closing achievement gaps, and postsecondary readiness. These results reflect the hard work of our students, teachers, campus leaders, support staff, families, and Board of Trustees. We celebrate this achievement because it represents something bigger than a rating: a shared commitment to creating extraordinary learning experiences for every student. We also know that accountability ratings tell only part of the Lovejoy story. Our students thrive in classrooms, on stages and athletic fields, in fine arts and extracurriculars, and through opportunities for leadership, service, and personal growth.
Starting With Our Why Last Friday, more than 500 Lovejoy educators and staff members gathered for our 2026 Staff Convocation, and it was the perfect way to prepare for the year ahead, coming together as one team, reconnecting around our shared purpose, and celebrating the people who make Lovejoy such a special place for our students and families. Our Student Appreciation Ambassadors, from Pre-K through Grade 12, took the stage and did an outstanding job of reminding our educators why the work they do matters and how deeply their impact is felt by our students. One of the most meaningful moments came from 6th grade student Etta Wilkerson who shared her dream of becoming a teacher and inspired us all with a powerful reminder of the lasting impact our educators have on the lives of students. And then there was Mario Faoro, Lovejoy High School Class of 2025, who returned home for the summer from Auburn University and shared a heartfelt reflection on the ways Lovejoy ISD educators shaped her impressive journey. As we celebrate a strong start to the school year, I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who worked tirelessly to make this week possible. From preparing classrooms, campuses, and buses to welcoming families and supporting our staff, it took the dedication of so many across Lovejoy ISD to ensure our Leopards were ready to begin the school year and thrive. WELCOME BACK First Day of School! Lovejoy ISD is leaping into the 2026–2027 school year! Our Leopards kicked off the first day with excitement, new opportunities, and the strong sense of community that makes Lovejoy so special. We are grateful for our incredible educators and staff who worked hard to create a warm and welcoming start for every student, and we appreciate our families’ patience and support as everyone settles into new routines, car lines, and campus schedules. We’re excited for all that’s ahead, it’s going to be a great year to be a Leopard!
SENIOR BREAKFAST & Senior Walk! The Class of 2027 began their final year at Lovejoy High School with a memorable celebration at the annual Senior Breakfast and Walk. Thanks to the Lovejoy High School PTSO, seniors started the morning surrounded by friends, enjoying breakfast and making memories as they kicked off this special year together. The celebration continued with the traditional Senior Walk, where proud parents and families lined the path to cheer them on. It was the perfect start to a year that will be filled with unforgettable moments, exciting milestones, and plenty of Leopard pride!
TEAM LOVEJOY Convocation This week, we officially kicked off the 2026– 2027 school year with Lovejoy ISD’s Convocation! It was an energizing morning filled with inspiration, connection, and celebration as we welcomed back our incredible staff and came together as One Heart. One Lovejoy. Across every classroom, campus, and department, we are one Lovejoy family working together to create an exceptional experience for every student. We’re excited for all that’s ahead and ready to make the 2026–2027 school year one to remember!

NEW FAMILY WELCOME Breakfast Last Saturday, Lovejoy ISD was excited to welcome our newest families at the annual New Family Welcome Breakfast! It was a wonderful morning filled with new connections, friendly faces and plenty of Lovejoy spirit as families had the opportunity to meet members of our district and community. A special thank you to our generous sponsors, volunteers and staff members who helped make the event possible and ensured our new families received a warm Lovejoy welcome. To all of our new families, welcome to Lovejoy! We are so glad you’re here and look forward to an incredible year together!
STUDENT HEALTH Advisory Council Do you work in the health industry? Are you a parent or community member who is interested in supporting the health and wellness of students in Lovejoy? Lovejoy ISD is seeking individuals who would like to serve on our School Health Advisory Council, otherwise known as SHAC. What is SHAC? A SHAC (School Health Advisory Council) is a school board-appointed advisory group of individuals who represent different segments of the community. By law, a majority of the members must be persons who are parents of students enrolled in the district and who are not employed by the district. The LISD SHAC is made up of parents, community members, students, and school staff working together to improve the health of all students and families through coordinated school health programs What is the time commitment? Our committee meets 4 to 6 times a year from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. We ask that members be willing to serve for two years, if possible, to support continuity. How do I let someone know I am interested? Please send a letter of interest to shac@lovejoyisd.net detailing your connection to Lovejoy ISD, including any information about your connections to health and wellness and the schools your students attend (if applicable). This information allows us to develop a committee that is representative of our district.

Communication is key to a successful school year, and we are committed to keeping our families informed and engaged. Newsletters Lovejoy ISD uses Engage, a collaborative newsletter platform that enhances the ability of our teachers, programs, and departments to work together and share information. While our newsletters feature a new look, they continue to provide the same great information. District and campus newsletters are delivered through Engage.
Mass Communications Lovejoy ISD uses an integrated communication platform that connects directly with our website and social media channels. This system allows the District to deliver important information quickly and efficiently across multiple communication channels, especially during emergencies.
