We are celebrating an outstanding start to the school year! Lovejoy ISD’s first day was filled with fresh hope and new possibilities. I was both humbled and amazed by the dedication and preparation our educators and staff invested to make our students' first day of schoolanexceptionalexperience.

Theadorableandfunnythingsourkindergarten studentssayarealwaysoneofthehighlightsof thistimeofyear.Oneofoursweetkindergarten Le Leopardstoldhermother,“ItwasaGREATday.Ididn’tgetsenttothePrincipal’s office!”

Thefirstdayofschoolisalsospecialforourseniors.OneofourcherishedLovejoy traditionsistheSeniorBreakfastandSeniorWalk.Ontheirlastfirstdayofschool, cheered on by their families, teachers, and classmates, our seniors walk through thehighschoolcourtyardandintoLovejoyHighSchool.Thistraditionhonorsour seniors'K-12journeyandprovidesamomenttomarkthesignificanceoftheyear ahead.

WewanttoextendourgratitudetotheFoundationforLovejoySchoolsforhosting the annual New Lovejoy Family Breakfast last Saturday. Welcoming our new Leopards into the Lovejoy Family is an important investment in our culture and senseofcommunity.Wewerethrilledtoseesomanyyoungfamiliesjoinus.

WelookforwardtoseeingyourchildrenbackatschoolonMondaymorningforour first full week of school. I am confident that we are going to have an outstanding schoolyear.

TheLovejoyHighSchoolSeniorBreakfastandWalkisabeautifulLHStradition, welcoming seniors on their last first day of school! Lovejoy High School PTSO provided breakfast for seniors who gathered around tables talking, laughing, eating, and taking lots pictures. Meanwhile, parents and family members gatheredoutsidetocheerontheirseniorduringtheirspecialwalk.TheClassof 2025hasaspecialyearinfrontofthemanditwasanhonortocelebratethemas weusherinthefuture!

CONVOCATION

Destination: Excellence! Lovejoy ISD teachers, staff, and administrators boarded Flight 2425 at Monday's Convocation celebration! The event featured student performances by the Lovejoy ISD Band, Color Guard Cheer, Majestics, and junior, Audrey Murphy who sang the national anthem! Superintendent Kordel addressed Team Lovejoy and principals played a hilariously competitive game of KeepyUppy. #TeamLovejoy is ready for a fantastic2024-25schoolyear!

Please plan to allow for additional drive time for the first two weeks of school. Increased traffic volume and slower traffic flow during arrival and dismissal will cause carpool to take longer than normal for the first two weeksofschool.

Ifutilizingbusservice,pleasekeepinmindthatrouteswillmostlikelyrun slower,forbothAMandPM,forthefirstcoupleweeksofschool.

The Lovejoy High School Leopard Store opened on the first day of school. They are open for shopping everyday when students are in school from 8:30 am - 4:15 pm. Visitors can park in the front of the school and enter there to check in with the LHS Receptionist. ID is requiredtoenterLHSforsafetyand security purposes! Come shop Lovejoy’snewest,officialgear!
