What an incredible start to the 2025-2026 schoolyear!FromSeniorWalktowatchingour kindergarteners rock their first day of elementary school, yesterday was filled with truly special moments. We could not be more excited to have our students back in our schools. Their smiles, energy, and excitement transformourhallwaysandclassrooms.

This has been a week of joyful experiences in Lovejoy ISD, beginning with our District Staff Convocation and back to school Meet the Teacherevents.

On Monday, we gathered for our 2025 Staff Convocation, themed The Lovejoy Legacy. This year marks a major milestone, the 20th anniversary of Lovejoy High School,andtherewasnobettertimetocelebratetheuniquelyspeciallegacythat unites us. Convocation spotlighted our traditions, core values, and enduring commitmenttoexcellence.Wewereinspiredbyincrediblestudentperformances, entertained by a spirited Leopard dress-up contest, and united in our shared purpose.

I loved visiting with so many families at our back to school events on Tuesday, hearing about their summer adventures, and seeing the excitement as our studentsmettheirteachers.

MassCommunications

Lovejoy is also transitioning to a new, integrated communication platform that connects directly with our website and social media channels. This upgrade allows the District to deliver messages more quickly and efficiently across all media channels, especially in emergency situations. Effective August 1st, Campus and District emails, text messages, and voicemailswillnolongerbesentthrough BrightArrow.

TheClassof2026begantheirfinalyearatLovejoyHighSchoolwithamemorable sendoff at the annual Senior Breakfast and Walk. Thanks to the Lovejoy High School PTSO, students started the morning surrounded by friends, enjoying a warm breakfast and making lasting memories. The celebration continued as seniorstooktheirsymbolicwalk,greetedbyproudparentsandfamiliesliningthe path with cheers. It was a meaningful start to a year that will be filled with milestones,achievements,andLeopardpride.

TexasschooldistrictsarerequiredtoestablishaDistrictImprovementTeam(DIT) andCampusImprovementTeams(CIT).Thepurposeoftheteamsistocollaborate asadvisorycommitteestoimprove,clarify,developandcommunicateeducational ideas and goals in order to enhance the learning environment for Lovejoy ISD students.DistrictandCampusImprovementTeamsarecomprisedofdistrictand campusadministrators,teachers,parents,students,businessrepresentativesand community leaders. The District develops the district and campus improvement plansthroughtheworkofthesecommittees.

WhatisSHAC?

A SHAC (School Health Advisory Council) is a school board-appointed advisory groupofindividualswhorepresentdifferentsegmentsofthecommunity.Bylaw,a majorityofthemembersmustbepersonswhoareparentsofstudentsenrolledin thedistrictandwhoarenotemployedbythedistrict.TheLISDSHACismadeupof parents, community members, students, and school staff working together to improvethehealthofallstudentsandfamiliesthroughcoordinatedschoolhealth programs

Whatisthetimecommitment?

Our committee meets 4 to 6 times a year from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. We ask that membersbewillingtoservefortwoyears,ifpossible,tosupportcontinuity.
