MESSAGE from the Superintendent
LovejoyCommunity,This morning, the entire Lovejoy ISD staff assembled in the Lovejoy High School gymnasium for our annual convocation. Convocation is our employee celebration to launch the start of the school year. We experienced phenomenal student performances by our orchestra, color guard, band, cheerleaders, Majestics, and A Capella choir. The high caliber of these student programs is a testament to the investment and commitmentoftheiroutstandingdirectorsandcoach.
The theme for convocation was Team Lovejoy: Hope Holder I contend that Lovejoy ISD is not in the graduationbusiness.LovejoyISDisinthehopeholding
business. We hold the hope of your precious child(ren) and family in our hands. Our educators have spent this past week continuing our learning and deepening our commitmenttoholdingthathopewithgreatcareandcompetence.Whenyouseeteachers and staff wearing their Hope Holder shirt this school year, I hope it will serve as a public reminderofboththeircommitmentandsignificantimpact.
We are in the final countdown to the best school year yet! Only four more days of summer until we get the opportunity to welcome our students back to school. I know that back to schoolbringsalistof“todos”forparentsandIstandinsolidaritywiththoseofyouwhohave notyetcompletedyourlist EverytimeIthinkIhavetakencareofeverythingonthebackto schoolto-dolist,IseeanemailorsocialmediapostthatremindsmethatIhave,infact,not completedthelist.Goodnews,wehaveamini-checklistonpage16tohelpyouout.
WearereadyandexcitedforourstudentstobebackatschoolonWednesday,August9!We are looking forward to enjoying their laughter, seeing how much they have grown, and hearingabouttheirsummeradventures.

NEW TEACHER DAY & LUNCH
Lovejoy ISD welcomed our newest Lovejoy Leopards with a New Teacher Day & Luncheon. Presenters included District Administration, Safety and Security, and Curriculum and Instruction. Additionally, LISD Technology provided Tips and Tricksforthenewlaptopsprovidedtoeachteacher.
FOUNDATION FOR LOVEJOY SCHOOLS GRANTS
Becauseofyourgenerosity,TheFoundationforLovejoySchoolswasabletogrant each new educator to the district $100 to get their classrooms up and running. Thankyouforsupportingourteachersandstaff!

Lovejoy ISD staff kicked off the school year this week with Learning in Lovejoy. Thisisdedicatedtimeforourteamtocometogetherforafocusonprofessional growth.
LEARNING IN LOVEJOY 2023 wass centered around Relationships, Learning, Collaboration,ResultsandofcourseFUN.
Theweekfocusedonseveraltopicsincludingtakingadeepdiveintocollaboration between general education teachers and special education to develop deeper partnershipsthatsupporthighlevelsoflearningforallstudents.
Team Lovejoy also spent time learning strategies to help strengthen student connection,communication,andcapabilitybuilding.Researchshowsthatafocus in these areas supports the development of self-discipline, resilience, and the confidencetohandlechallenges.
