ThispastweekendLovejoyWrestlingqualified5wrestlerstocompeteattheUIL State Wrestling Tournament. Aro Ogle Garza (Fr.), Elijah Strand (Sr.), Eli Silva (Jr.), Andrew Kotecki (Sr.), and Sam Reynolds (Sr.). Sam Reynolds earned his 3rdconsecutiveStateChampionshipvictory!CongratulationstoSamandallof theLovejoywrestlersthatcompetedintheUILStateWrestlingTournament.We areproudofallyouraccomplishmentsandhardwork!

On Friday, February 16th students in 4th, 6th and 8th grades traveled to their future2024-25campusesfortours,activities,andlunch. LISD’sBump-UpDayis an annual event that eases the transition to a new campus and generates excitement for new student experiences. A huge shoutout SCIS, WSMS, and LHSformakingtheeventmemorableandengaging!

This team continues to impress and amaze us all, and we are certain they are going to continue their hot streak as they move into the Regional Championshipthisweekend.
Forthefirsttimeinschoolhistorywehad10teamsqualifyfortheVEXRobotics Texas Region 5 Championship and 1082R will be among these 10 teams competing in Abilene, TX on February 24, 2024. This is the most important tournament so far this season since it will be what decides which teams from ourregionqualifyfortheVEXRoboticsWorldChampionship.Wishusluckand follow along with us on social media and the live stream. Melanie Wang, 2nd Grader in Ms Hicks class at Puster Elementary, recently won FirstPrizeinanhighlycompetitiveDallas string competition for her Cello performance.

COLOR GUARD
CongratulationstoourLovejoyVarsityColorGuard.TheycompetedSaturdayin the WGI (Winter Guard International) Contest at Coppell High School. After a breathtaking performance in prelims on Saturday, our varsity guard won a place in the finals that took place on Sunday. This contest features the most competitivefieldourstudentswillfaceduringtheseason.Thestakesarehigh and all of the best color guard programs around the state come to face off at theWGIContest.
Thevarsityguardgaveanotherbeautifullypolishedperformanceinfinalsand finished 14th out of 20 groups in finals. There were 48 groups in our classificationatprelims!WearesoproudofourVarsityGuard!Congratulations andthankyou,Ms.Garcia!
