TheLovejoyTechnologyDepartmentishappytoannouncethatwehaveissueda Chromebook to each student at Sloan Creek, Willow Springs, and Lovejoy High School! This device is an instructional tool that can better engage students, promote collaboration, enhance learning, and provide opportunities to develop future-readyskills.MembersoftheTechnologyDepartmentspentadayateachof the three campuses passing out these devices and providing information about devicecareandtechnicalsupport.

Withtheadditionofthisschooldevice,parentshaveaccesstoGoGuardianParent tomonitortheirchild'susageathome,setlimitsontheamountoftimetheyspend on a device, and block specific sites based on parental preference. Click here for directionsonsettingupGoGuardianParent.

Parents also have an opportunity to purchase insurance on their district-issued deviceviaiTurityhttps://iturity.com/lovejoy/for$25. iTurityinsurancewillcover any repair associated with the device no matter how many times it is damaged throughout the school year. LovejoyAthleticswouldliketoofferuptheopportunityforpremiumparkingforall Varsityhomefootballgamesforthe2023season.TheLeopardswillauctionoff42 prime parking spaces just west of Leopard Stadium. No more coming early and fighting for that elusive parking space on nights like Leopard Friday or Homecoming-yourspotawaitsyou!

Thesepremiumspotsareopentoanycommunitymemberwhowantstosupport the school and would appreciate a short walk to the ticket booth on those busy gamenights.

TheLovejoyVolleyballprogramkickedofftheir2023SeasonTuesdaynight,August 8th against Denton Guyer. Freshman, JV and Varsity started their season with a programsweep!

Varsity traveled to Honolulu, Hawaii this past week and faced some incredible competition!Thoughtheydidnothavetheoutcometheywanted,theteamgrew and came together. Hawaii provided some unique opportunities such as sunset yoga,snorkelingwithTurtlesandvisitingthePearlHarborNationalMemorial.The teamevengotthechancetotourtheUSSMissouriandembracedtheirthemefor the season, "10 Ships before a Championship"! This summer we had five athletes represent Lovejoy in Philadelphia attheNewBalanceNationalTrack Meet. This meet features the best in the nation and is qualification only. Leila Ngapout and Bella Landrum - both of whom just graduated-teamedupwithCailee

Horinek, Mia Reaugh, and Kailey Littlefield to compete in the 4x200 and4x400meterrelayswherethey earned 7th and 19th, respectively. Kailey Littlefield also competed in the 800 meter run where she was 5th place and earned All American honorsforthe2ndyearinarow.

TheLovejoyLeopardAcesVarsityTennis team came out swinging into the 2023 Fall tennis season with wins against Midlothian Heritage 17-2, Tyler 17-2, Rock Hill 13-6, and Lake Highlands 15-4.
