Founded in 1804 by the Harmony Society, a group of German Lutheran separatists led by Johann Georg Rapp, the town became a thriving communal society. Its meticulously preserved architecture reflects its rich heritage, including the Harmony Museum, the 1809 brick Mennonite Meetinghouse, and the Wagner House.
The Harmony Society’s innovative farming techniques and trades made the community self-sufficient and influential during its time. Today, Harmony offers visitors a glimpse into its storied past with annual festivals, tours, and cultural events that celebrate its unique legacy.
