WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW? - NEW YORK MAG I love overseas missions work! I love feeding the hungry clothing the naked, renovating buildings and giving hope to those who have seen nothing but hopelessness.

I love eating and laughing with the people and watching their simple way of life. I get great joy out of buying 100 pound bags of beans and rice and distributing it to those who have nothing. The attitude of thankfulness for just beans and rice is a sight to behold. There is great joy in helping those who appreciate anything you do for them.

I love all of the people, but children and I seem to always end up in the same place.

The children are innocent and helpless. I know they are not, but children who are born in poor countries seem to be made of something different. They are poor, yet they laugh, play, sing, pray and just go on with life. Rarely have I heard children from a poor country complaining. They have never seen anything but poverty, so many of them don’t know there is anything else. They know they won’t have food every day, they know they won’t have new clothes or new shoes often. What they have or don’t have has become a way of life. They accept it because they know nothing else. I love children!

The birth of Love Haiti’s Children Orphanage On July 15, 2011 we found and leased a property in La Plaine (PAP) Haiti. The property needed renovation, so we hired a plumber, an electrician, painters, concrete workers and a security person. We spent thousands of dollars to renovate and beautify the property. On August 21st the renovations were completed. The vision came to fruition in September of 2011 as we brought the first children into LHC. Love Haitis Children Orphanage cares for 13 children in Port Au Prince that are in desperate need. Their needs are many, but we are determined to make a difference in their lives!

Bishop McIver travels to Haiti once a month to spend time with the children and to take care of the business of the orphanage. LHC has a dedicated staff in Haiti that cares for the children and the orphanage in his absence.

The staff of Love Haitis Children Orphanage provides lots of love, counseling, spiritual guidance, housing, food,clothing, health care and education (including English) to the children. The children will be taught job skills to prepare them for life in Haitian society after being an orphan.

Self-taught in piano, violin and drums, Liz has always enacted upon her passion for music since her early childhood. While she learned these instruments, Liz simultaneously, explored her vocal capabilities, and fell in love with the burning sensation singing evoked. When she sings, Liz feels security in knowing her life purpose, “[My purpose] is to share the gift of my voice with the world. I need to sing just like we all need air to breathe.”

To date, Liz has participated in and acquired 1st place prizes from “Debra Crosby’s Talent Quest TV Show,” while performing live for the first time at Hard Rock Cafe, and a second time at House of Blues. Liz has also starred in My Silent Bravery’s video for “Can’t Quit.” Influenced by Shania Twain, Celine Dion, Demi Lovato, and her all-time idol, Christina Aguilera, Liz strives to reflect art that portrays the fire and soul music forever ignites in her.

WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW? - NEW YORK MAG 1. Tell us who is Liz? Liz is a very passionate, full of soul, determined and dedicated pop singer. I am a very outgoing person, bubbly, unique, full of high spirits and positivity. I’m a woman who lives her life to its fullest potential with no regrets. Created my own mold to live from.

2. What is a typical day for you?

Typical day for me is waking up around 5-6 a.m each morning to begin my day with a little yoga/workout or a morning run. I then get ready for the dance studio where I work extremely hard always learning new choreography in Hip Hop/Jazz Funk to keep my skills sharpened & myself challenged. I also on some days help Co teach a Hip Hop class. I later find myself sharpening my vocals as a pop singer keeping my techniques in tack, and recording/ working on new music to share with everyone. Depending on the day I may have a phone call with the amazing writer I have been blessed with working on my music with me getting that all polished to then be another step closer to heading to the recording studio to record very soon!

You can always find me singing and or dancing. 24/7.

3. For our readers who have never heard your music, Describe your sound in 3 words?

Authentic, fresh, significant.

4. Do you write all of your music?

I work with a highly talented writer I have recently been placed with working on my new music as we speak. Although I could write my own I want to give the people/ audience the best music I can give, I choose to be partnered up with a very talented writer helping me get it to where it needs to be and then some.

5. How do you get people to take you seriously as an artist?

I create music that is not just relatable to any given audience but also real. I want to give out music to people that is genuine and has true meaning behind each lyric I sing. Not just singing a song just because. In order to get people’s attention seriously I make sure

I can connect with everyone by singing relatable, real music.

6. If you can open up for an artist that is on tour right now, who will it be?

Lady Gaga or Lukas Graham.

7. Projects currently working on now?

Right now I am currently working with my team on a few songs, to then deciding which one will be released as my debut single!

8. What can we expect from Liz within 2 years?

Lots of music!! Music that sets me apart from other pop singers out there in the game. Music that makes its own statement. I’d love to be on a tour of my own or alongside another artist.

9. How do you feel being a part of 45 Records Entertainment Label family?

I feel incredibly blessed and forever thankful to have been discovered and picked up (signed) by this label.

It is literally an extension of family for me. Incredibly blessed to have a team believe in me the exact amount if not more than I do in myself and career.

10. Would you like to acknowledge someone that has been a big part of your music journey?

Hailing from Queens, New York rap artist X-YLE has been a name in the hip hop community for a number of years. Being influenced by artists such as DMX, Nas, and many more, he has garnished a hip hop sound of his own. This all has landed him recognition from his home state of New York, as well as traveling south to Baltimore, and even to the Midwest in St. Louis. His versatility allows him not only the hardcore rap audience, but his smooth delivery catapults him into the Hip Hop/Soul scene.

Beginning at the young age of 11, X-YLE (Donald Patterson) had been driven by his interest in music. Performing, like many before family and friends, he is now showing off his electrifying talents to thousands. Not only is he a talented artist but, a profound song writer who chose to stand out on his own accord (hence the stage name X-YLE).

With a plan, this artist has set out to give his career longevity. X-YLE is an Underground Music Award nominee, has had his music played on Power 105.1.

X-YLE did a live performance with Tony Yayo of G-Unit and the Ruff Ryders. He has done shows for Violator, Street Sweepers, Bad Boy, G-Unit, Interscope Records, Def Jam Records, Power 105.1 (New York) and Hot 97.1 (New York). A: Thank you for having me.

Q: Where did the name X-yle come from?

A: I actually got it from the bible. I had all the typical “starter rapper” names lol. I just wanted something that fit who I was at the time and honestly still who I am till this day. So I grabbed the bible, closed my eyes and flipped through the pages. Whatever my finger landed on I knew it would be what God chose for me. And I landed on “exile”. It was perfect, so all I did was just flipped the spelling. And right there “X-YLE” was born.

Awesome!!

Q: As an artist do you feel image is important?

A: Image is important if its actually who you are.

Q: Explain.

A: A lot of people think an image has to be some grand exaggeration, but I feel people respect authenticity in the long run. Like if you feel you have to be extra just to stand out then how comfortable in your skin are you really? I don’t knock however an artist sees fit to stand out, I just know I can’t portray anything Im not.

Q: Tell us some of your projects you may be working on?

A: Where do I start,lol. Right now I’m working on my team mixtape with my FRONTLYNE artist Monstarr Davee & Ice. At the same time I’m working on my new project “FULL MOON”. 1st single I’m promoting is called “THIS YEAR” produced by NY BANGERS. Q: For those that are not familiar with your music, describe it in 5 words

A: Authentic, Catchy, Deep, Fun and Real.

Q: What can we expect from you before the year is over? Performances? Music? Collab? Giving back to community?

A: All the above lol. I’m working on finalizing two tours, One here in the U.S. and the other in Europe.

Both music projects will be out by the Summer. I have a couple collabs in the works, nothing I can give away as of yet. As far as giving back I’m already focused on back to school season, so I will be organizing or at least be a major part of a drive for school supplies. Outside of all that, I’m on a web series called L.I.P.S. which airs on THIS IS 50.com. Also Working on my own mini movie. I’m sure I’m forgetting some things but we can save that for the next time you have me lol.

Q: How do you feel about hip hop today?

A: I feel its back to what we remember as for sound and content. New York sounds like New York, Atlanta sounds like Atlanta, Cali sounds like Cali. So on and so forth. The rate of 1 region copying another region in order to “make it” is at a low. More artist are starting to be proud of there own sound, and that’s always good for the culture.

Q: If you were invited to open up for an artist who is on tour, who will it be and why?

Damn lol. Gun to my head if I had to choose, Eminem.

He is my favorite artist lyrically hands down. I feel like that tour would be nothing short of phenomenal.

Q: Any shout outs?

CarLovy Musicc is a Music Artist, Rapper, Singer, Song Writer, Music Producer, Song Orchestrator, Video Director, Actor and Mogul.

On November 13th the artist known as CarLovy Musicc was born in Harlem, New York.

Growing up through numerous area’s in New York City and having to deal with countless obstacles, CarLovy Musicc began writing at age 12 where he shortly after, with some local friends, formed a crew called K.O.S (Kings of Streets), K.O.S then branched off into G.Gettaz. G.Gettaz recorded and released over 8 unpublished group mixtapes which CarLovy organized him self in the streets.

His explosive, creative, yet attitude free, take on Hip Hop puts him in an eloquent class of his own. At first glance, you see a small town, sexy, little country boy, then sonically he suddenly becomes a larger than life, soulful Hip Hop conundrum.

His EP, “Love Simulation”, is a positive challenge to the world of “Rap”. The songs are salacious, riveting, compelling and entertaining.

Ross is a winner of “Apollo Night LA Artist of the Week”.

E. Just from looking at you, I feel as though you should be a country artist.

D. I hear that a lot, that’s for sure. I don’t necessarily look at myself as a rapper. I look at myself as an artist. I love the art of rap, but I’m much more than just a rapper. The typical rapper, the chain, the disrespect, that’s just not me. I think that we need good people to represent the beautiful forms of every art, and I think it’s about time we had somebody that loves the music, and doesn’t just want to be disobedient, and crazy. So I’m trying to bring that GQ style to it.

E. I think that you might have accomplished that.

D. Well I hope so. There is a positive side to it. It’s poetry. They are all poets, they’re just talking about the wrong stuff.

I love Rap. E. That’s awesome! Now you have somebody that will show up to a party in a a tux.

D. That’s what I’m going for, that’s the lane I wanna be in, that’s where I’m at.

E. Where are you from originally?

D. I’m from a little town called Goldendale Washington, with 32 hundred people. It is about 2 hours down the Columbia River from Portland Oregon.

E. Are you into any other kinds of music?

D. Yes, but I haven’t put that music out. I do sing a little bit, and actually it’s kind of funny. I like to sing in a country twang. I’m not the best singer in the world, but I do love writing country music. I love the life on the road, the love stories, the broken heart....I’ve always loved that about country music.

E. When you write a “Rap” song, do you write it down on paper first, or does it just come out of your mouth instantaneously?

D. I do it both ways. My better products are always written. What I like to do is, I’ll write something, and then I’ll get in the booth and

just rap for several hours off of the lines that I wrote. I’ll come up with things in the middle, break into a bridge, or a hook, or maybe I’ll like the way it sounds and I’ll freestyle some crazy verbiage in the mic. So I do it both ways, but all my songs are mostly written in poem form and I created a cadence and then I lay it down.

E. Are you planning a tour?

D. Yes I am, I gotta push this brand. We went and performed at the Whiskey-A-Go-Go, and got a standing ovation. It really touched me, I couldn’t believe it. I packed the house, and I just fell in love.

E. You were on “The Jimmy Star Radio Show” as well?

D. He found me through social media. Our social media girl Sharee, found Jimmy and he wanted me on his radio show, and I went on there and we had a blast. It’s so nice to meet wonderful people that are passionate.

E. When did you start to rap?

D. Basically I’ve done poetry since I am a little kid. When rap became super popular, in the early 90s, and in the 2000s became huge, I turned my poetry into rap, because that was the thing to do. I played on three different sports, and we were always on the bus, and the thing to do was to rap. So there was always rap battles, and everybody wanted to be a rap star.

Eminem was huge, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and then rap blew up. I basically started to closet rap because I was always writing poetry, and I just started rapping my poetry in the shower. Then I just fell in love with the annunciation and pronunciations of each word, and then what I can do with it onto a mic. When I found the mic I just never left it. I found the love for the microphone only about 3 1/2 years ago. I built this home studio in my closet, and I went in there and I just fell in love. I think I was in my closet for over eight hours the first time I ever found the mic. When I came out I was 10 pounds lighter. I was just sweating, I was out of control, and I never felt so alive. The headphones, and the way I could make my voice differentiate, I just couldn’t get enough of it. Then I never stopped. I’ve been making demos ever since. I didn’t show a lot of people because I just didn’t want them making fun of me. I really thought that I was going to make a hit. So I decided to stay on the mic until I created this hit, and then I would show the world. I waited for a long time. When I finally could get a real project done in a real studio, I jumped at it. Here we are.

E. Well you might not call yourself a rapper, but that’s what you are, and you should just embrace it.

D. I’m glad you told me that because when people look at me they think I belong in a “Gap” magazine. I’m a GQ rapper.

In 2005, At an early age(18 months old). My son Jovan was diagnosed with Autistic/Asthmatic.

The hardest words I've ever heard come out of a doctor's mouth was his eye contact and his ability to speak will be very limited to none. I suggest you to learn sign language.

I remember crying asking the doctor but how can that be? And telling him that my baby makes noises when he cries, he has to have a voice.

As Jovan gotten older I remember the thoughts racing through my mind, How? Why ? What did I do while he was in my belly to make this happen to my baby ?

He couldn't tell me MOMMY my stomach hurts or I have to go used the bathroom or express any of his emotions that he was going through.

Jovan had 3 different Therapist Specialist come to the house 5 times a week.

As a single mom of two children and only 3 years apart the struggle was very difficult. The fear of leaving him in the care of someone else who could not understand him...had me a nervous wreck. And who would stay with him? The cost of a child with special needs would probably be more than my salary. So

working was out of the question.

With the support of my parents and my children's grandparents I was able to go back to work and school.

The past 10 years has been a guessing game to why he would cry out of no where or what he wanted to eat and so on...

I had to build trust with strangers when he started school because Jovan couldn't tell me how was his day, If he ate school lunch or if any one was bullying him. I had to take everyone else's words because he couldn't express himself with his own voice.

Jovan is now 13 years old and we have achieve to read, write and have over 30 words in his vocabulary. He repeats every Pixar and Thomas the Train movie from word to word. I also make sure that Jovan is responsible for his everyday life. He puts away the groceries, Shower himself, and puts on his clothes. I make him repeat every thing he wants and need.

My children have been one of my biggest blessings, lesson and the battery on my back to push for more due to my everyday struggles.

I learn how to extreme coupon to save a dollar, found out that the bathroom is my best friend when I needed a mommy break to get my thoughts together. You can always beat the odds!

Now I started an organization call Brooklyn Give Back , helping others to alleviate the stress and emotions when hard times hit.

You never know your strength and worth until you go through real life obstacles.

I covered Fetty Wap’s Single “Trap Queen” on instagram and then got the attention of Nitt Da Gritt “CEO of RGF” and Fetty Wap. I kept in touch with Nitt Da Gritt, I even joined them at a show Fetty Wap had in my home town Tampa, Florida where he introduced me as his artist. A few months later I signed to RGF. Share with us on some of current project you may be working on such as performances? video? new music?

Right now I’m just recording as much as I can. I have so many great songs I can’t wait to share with the world.

What can we expect from B’iousha 2017?

Hmmm. What to expect from me 2017? I won’t say, I’d rather show you ;)

In November of 2016, B’iousha signed with RGF Entertainment, which is globally known as the musical homebase of hip-hop superstar Fetty Wap. WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW? - NEW YORK MAG Harlem is no longer synonymous with the historical textbook definition of a cultural renaissance-like community. It is historically one of the most iconic and famous inner cities in the western world. The streets were gritty in the eighties and nineties. Crime, drugs and broken homes were a way of life and especially prevalent in the late 1980s and 1990s. Traditions and values were far from the norm, the inhabitants, ruthless.

B STEELS is a product of this ruthless town.

Bobby started his hustle at a tender age. His father was locked down for most of his childhood and as an only child he was aware of the struggle his mother endured and watched helplessly as she fell prey to drugs. Thankfully today, she’s been clean for 17 years.

As B STEELS looked out for his mom who was a functional addict, he kept his eyes pierced on the streets. The glimmer of expensive cars, flashy clothes, fresh kicks and zero cares bedazzled him and it wasn’t long before he fell in love with the street life and the niceties it offered. As the money came easy, survival became harder and soon Bobby found himself doing time at Spofford Correctional Facility and Harlem Valley at just 14 years old.

Released after serving 3 years, his fresh start quickly turned into a continuation. But this time around, he had a profound interest in music; throughout his childhood, he remembers his mother playing old school music and always

loved the emotion and reaction it evoked in its listeners.

While in the midst of making wrong decisions, B STEELS put his energy into making hits. As a result of his talent and hard work, he inked an artist development deal, which allowed him to fly to California to work with one of hip-hop’s most renowned producers, Swizz Beatz. He also worked with the likes of Vinny Idol, DJ Love Dinero and other local producers. Though the deal didn’t plan out due to some unethical activities on behalf of the label, B STEELS returned to Harlem to make his living.

His son who is almost 10 years old now was born shortly after. With a mouth to feed and his family on his shoulder, B. STEELS turned back to hustling.

Once again, the street life caught up with him and the inevitable happened. He found himself serving 7 years in medium-maximum correctional facilities, i.e.

Riker’s Island, 5 Points, Auburn, Comstock, Franklin, Marcy box for a second stint. He actually lived the story most rappers rhyme about. While serving the 7 year bid in the upstate correctional facilities, B STEELS learned of the death of one of his favorite rappers, Big L and that of his father, (whose lifestyle he was closely emulating) in February and March 1999 respectively.

Through the many disappointments and failed attempts of “making it” as a rapper, B STEELS became bitter toward music and the promises and

became hopeless. Toward the end of his sentence and upon a preference transfer to Arthur Kill facility, in Staten Island, B STEELS became anxious as this was the closest he had been to home in years. However, shortly thereafter, the Arthur Kill facility closed and he was forced to return back upstate, 8 hours away to Franklin Correctional Facility. Here the visits were few and far between, the weather was cold and depressing as was his spirit, but not for long.

“Many rappers rhyme because they like to or it’s fun for them, I do this because I have to, it’s personal. This has been my dream for years and I have felonies attached to my name, it’s difficult to get a job and I have no other opportunities. I’m just trying to break the cycle for my son, so he won’t have to go down the path I did, give him more options, you know.

Tell me how the name Feddy Jones came about ?

My little 6 year old sister in law asked me what my middle name was and I said "I don't have one" so she gave me Feddy Jones and I ran with it, lol.

Lets talk about Fedtime Records?

FedTime Records was an idea I came up with that gives artists an opportunity to show their talent and I believe everyone who is part of the label is so good it should be illegal How many artists do you currently have? and are they all hip hop artists?

Counting myself we have 4 artists: Binky, Samir and Zieta Eve. Binky and Samir are Hip Hop artists and Zieta Eve is a R&B/ all around artist.

Now tell me about Feddy Jones, The artist?

I started my artistry officially in 2000 and I just love music in all forms. My influences are Jay-Z, Slick Rick, LL Cool J. I'm an artist that so happens to rap.

Describe the type of sound within your music?

I'm eclectric so I try to implement all cultures, genres and sounds.

Tell me some of the struggles you may have encounter to be where you are at today and how you dealt with it?

I'm from the hood so I didn't have open opportunities to get what I needed to succeed. I was raised poor but rich in morals and that allowed me to be confident in what I do.

As an independent Label/artist, what are your goals?

As an independent label and artist my goal is to leave a great and lasting impression on the planet through my music. Respect for what I do and who I am is very important to me.

What can we expect from Feddy Jones within this year?

Progression in every aspect of music.

WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW? - NEW YORK MAG Interview: by Eileen Shapiro Confronting real life danger, challenging death, and avoiding probability, X-Marine, Andrew McLaren, now triumphs in the world of television and film.

He appeared on NBC “Stars Earn Stripes, where celebrities were coached by real life military and law-enforcement members through military exercises to earn cash for their favorite charity. He also played Captain Sampson in the heroic film, “Battle For Haditha”.

As a marine, Andrew served in Iraq and Liberia, and was assigned to the Fleet Anti-terrorism Security Team. Before he enlisted he was also a powerfully successful model. Now he travels the world, and lives a life that people only fantasize about.

So can you give me a brief synopsis of how you started modeling and acting after being a marine?

Well actually I was modeling before I became a marine. So I did a couple of commercials, ads in magazines and stuff like that. It helped me pay for my college. Then I always wanted to go into the military, there was a million things I wanted to do back then. I had the looks and the talent back then, but I didn’t have the confidence. That’s what the Marine Corps gave to me. I went in right after September 11, I went in October 2001. I always wanted to go into the military because my dad served in Vietnam, and then he became a successful stockbroker. It always appealed to me because of the travel, and the physical fitness aspect. So I went into the military and it ended up working out for me. I went to Spain, I went to about 30 countries. I was in an Anti-terrorism unit, and we had to go all over Europe and Africa. So we went to Italy, France, Estonia, Sicily, all these countries, and I had never been out of the country before. Here I was 21, and traveling the world. It was amazing. When I got done doing that I went down to Liberia to guard the embassy. Then I went to another unit, and I went to Iraq.

Were you scared?

No, not at all. Not even the slightest. We were doing stuff like jumping out of helicopters, sliding down ropes, and wearing ski masks. In Baghdad it was all about killing terrorists, that’s all we wanted to do. We were America’s swat team, America’s 911. We were drinking whiskey in the bar, hitting each other in the nuts, smashing bottles over people’s heads.... Then our beepers would go off saying we have to go back to the base because we have a mission in some country that we had to leave for. It was kind of like out of a movie. I remember having a girlfriend, and in the middle of making love I had to stop and run back to the base because we were getting deployed.

That could be a little awkward.

Yeah, that’s the way it was back then. Looking back it was definitely one of the best and most exciting times of my life. It was just a magical time looking back at it. After my time was done in that unit, which interestingly, it was the same unit that went to Benghazi the day after the big controversy, that was actually the same unit I was in. FAST, they guard nuclear weapons, they guard the President of the United States, and they protect any Embassy that comes under attack. So then I got honorably discharged from the military, and got hired by the NYPD. However that year they cut the rookies salary to $23,000, so I had the opportunity to try out for Blackwater, and I made the cut. There was a lot of cops that tried out for Blackwater, but didn’t make it because they didn’t know how to shoot machine guns.

What is Blackwater?

Blackwater was founded by a Navy seal who was the richest guy to ever serve in the military. He started the most notorious company in the history of the world called Blackwater. It basically paid for all the Republicans congressional campaigns and in exchange he got multi billion dollar contracts from the government. They work for the CAA whacking terrorists, and they did what I did, which is Guard Senator, Tom McCain, and all these government diplomats in Iraq. So Blackwater had the best jets, the best tanks the

best planes, machine guns.... We were really a good company. We never did anything wrong, all we did was keep them in safe. Obviously there are many books that will dispute that, but we were just all doing our jobs and protecting who we had to protect. In an area in Baghdad we had 60 coordinated attacks on us every day. We would have lights going off on our suburbans, we had a drive on the wrong side of the road, we had helicopters overhead to get our VIP out to where he had to go. So it was definitely an all out action movie. So I would come back to New York and drive Lamborghinis because I was making a lot of money, I didn’t have any kids back then, and I didn’t know if I was going to get killed. It was fun. I was 25 years old and making 300,000 a year, most of it tax free. I ended up meeting my wife who was a model, and we were married for six years, and had three kids together with a messy divorce, but we have since become cool. In that time I’ve had three TV shows for the discovery channel, I’ve done a bunch of movies, I’ve also done stuff like protect ships from Pirates.

Real Pirates?

Yeah, real Pirates. Basically after Captain Phillips was kidnapped they hired me.

I would guard the ships from pirates. This Somali pirates took 47 ships.

I haven’t never interviewed anyone remotely like you. You say you have three kids, aren’t you afraid you’re going to die?

I gotta pay the bills. It seems easier and safer to just act. Well I do that. I was just in Sri Lanka and produced three films. I do love acting and my TV show is all over the world. My girlfriend is a supermodel and she just saw me on TV in Italy. That’s how I got the movie in Sri Lanka this year. The producer was watching TV in India and he called me up. So that’s cool but at the end of the day, the money in acting has gone way down. I’m getting paid a lot of money to do what I do, and I’m good at what I do. And I find that art does imitates life because on my show I’m this guy, I’m doing all the stuff this guy kind of did in real life, but it’s sensationalized. People watch me on television, and they want me to be the same guy that they see on TV. So yes I was in the Marines, I was in Blackwater, but then I get put on TV in an exaggerated version. So yes I’d rather act, I’d rather be like George Clooney or Brad Pitt, but in the meantime I feel like I’m changing the world, which I’m really good at. So right now because I have the kids I’m going to do what pays the most. Until my acting career could match my career protecting people then I’m going to keep going with the money, but I definitely do want to get more roles.

I think I’ve gotten enough ammunition, pardon the pun. Is there anything else that you’d like to say?

I have a beachfront in Puerto Rico, where my show is very popular. What I’m doing, is, the economy is bad in Puerto Rico, and I want to give people hope down there. So, I’m going to be having a poetry contest, where I am actually giving a cash award. I’m going to have a bunch of celebrities flying in from Hollywood to be the judges. I’m doing this the first week in May. I also write, and I love poetry. That’s one of the reasons of how I was able to get my girlfriend.

Basically the reason why she likes me is because I write her a really nice poetry.

So I want to have kids being able to express talents, because the arts program in Puerto Rico has been slashed, because there is no budget. The place is bankrupt. So many people are forced to drop out of school. I want to give them an outlet to be able to express themselves creatively and then give them some financial incentive. Everyone there is working for five dollars an hour there.

Anything else, because you’re very interesting.

You could just mention my love for my kids. My five-year-old daughter is my best friend. I talk to them every day, and she’s literally my best friend. She’s my life. That’s why am doing all these crazy things, I want to pay for their college. I just worry so much because things today is so expensive.

Ali: Fun, we’ve played several shows with Adam and one on our own, but we love to travel, on the road, meeting people.... we’ve been having an amazing time. We all love each other, we’re all friends, and that helps.

I thought that your band was a perfect band to support the tour.

A: Really, because my mom thought we could totally be opening up for Adam Ant. V: My Aunt who knows him forever said that one day we’d be opening for him.

Is this your first big tour?

A: Yes. How long have you been together as a band?

V: Four years now.

A: We had different members, we had a different bass player before, a different drummer...and then we found perfect little Millie.

Let’s talk about your new album. What’s the name of it?

V: The album is called “Glitter City”. It was released August 12th I believe. It’s on every platform you can think of. We had a lot of fun making it.

And the new video?

V: We actually did a bunch of videos. We went to Vegas to shoot, for the title track, Glitter City. It’s a sort of a documentary. It’s a montage, I wouldn’t call it a music video as much as a short film to our song.

Cassie, you’re the newest member. How did that happen?

Cassie: Millie and I have been long time friends. We’re both from San Francisco. We moved to LA to persue music and she joined this band. So they needed a drummer, and we were friends, so...

Veronica: We are all in an all-girl cover band, and my dad heard us rehearsing in his studio. Then we were talking about this tour, and he heard that we needed a drummer, and he said, “well what about Cassie, she sounded great that day when you were practicing”...

What is the most fun experience that stands out for you so far?

Millie: Meeting Adam.

Veronica/Millie: Meeting all of the woman after the show because we had all these cool women empowering signs. They were hot pink and we brought them with us...then all of these women started coming over to us and wanted to take pictures with us.

Cassie, you’re the only gay member in the group? How does that work for you, traveling with an all-straight band who just happen to be girls?

Cassie: Yeah. Whats cool is that they’re all really supportive plus they know I wont try to make any moves ;) Ali: We all identify with the gay community.

Cassie: It’s a lot easier for straight people. But I love these guys, I feel totally comfortable.

Is there a moment in your life that you’ve had that has changed the direction your life was heading?

Veronica: Probably starting this band. It has been such an important part of my life. I’ve tried for almost 10 years to put an all-girl band together. I thought it was going to be impossible. I went through so many girl musicians, and just thought I’d never be able to do that. Being in a group of girls like this, where we can actually do what we love, and have the opportunities we’ve had, has probably changed my life the most.

What dreams are you sitting on, and how clear are you on why you’re sitting on them?

Millie: I’m not sitting on any dreams, I’m lucky to be living it with the best people that I know!

What was the turning point of your life Cassie?

Cassie: When I made the decision to move to LA. I’ve lived in San Francisco my whole life, but I felt that I wouldn’t progress anymore as a musician. This is all I want to do, like Millie said.

When I left I was living in a garage for a couple of months, with no friends, nothing....it was super depressing. I was crying, it was terrible, but it actually wound up being the best decision of my life, because it opened up so many opportunities. Now I can see my dreams are coming true.

Born in Brooklyn, New York on July 6th 1968.

I grew up in the streets of Bedford Stuyvesant where I spent a childhood full of sports and enjoyment. It wasn’t until junior high school that I learned there were other creative things to do than sports.

As I got older I picked up my mother’s creative ability to write. I started with poems, turned them into songs which turned into short stories. I later ventured in to a class of some students that were being trained by a man name Ben Harney who would later turn out to be my mentor.

He had given me so much helpful advice and told me I should try my talents in a play. So I did just that, by auditioning for this play by a woman name Nellie King, She had a play called “Lord just one more chance”. I got a great role and excelled at it, but in my studies I began realizing it wasn’t enough for me. I wanted more! So I moved on working in other productions and seeing things, because my creative side was getting stronger and stronger. Until someone said to me, you write why don’t you do your own production? And that’s just what I did.

I did my very first play which I wrote, directed and starred in called Mr. Nickels unisex shop. And it was a hit! A very funny comedy which everyone could relate too, but now the pressure was on to create the next anticipated project. Which I didn’t disappoint, I went from Comedy to Gospel and wrote another hit called, “Don’t turn your back on the ones you Love, It was such a phenomenal play I surprised myself. I knew I did a good job by the many tearful eyes of people that it filled in my audience.

Well I as you know I couldn’t stop there so I continued to write hits such as, “What If ”, “Secret Confessions” and some new projects I’m working on. I also went into doing film by starring in a movie called” Don’t damn the bridge”.

Moving forward I have created my first web series that will be starting very shortly. So look out for the name Omar Moore, because I’m just scratching the surface there’s a lot coming from me…. See u soon at a theatre near you!
