“Too often, transcultural work is framed as ‘fusion.’ We’re not fusing—we’re building a world where musical languages coexist without hierarchy.”
-Derrick Skye
“For us, this album is about listening. Listening to each other and to the world’s musical traditions in new ways, reframing our pre-conceived notions and years of training in rhythm, time, tonality, phrasing, and sound. Taking the time to explore a kaleidoscope of geographies and sonic languages—rhythmic, polyphonic, groove-based, and meditative—all interweaving to reveal a shared purpose: music that listens to the world.
Come join us!”
