I am thrilled to be releasing my debut album, Upcycle , with collaborative pianist Ana Maria Otamendi.
Upcycling is the process of creatively reusing old or previously used objects to make something new of high quality or value. This collection of transcriptions for trumpet and piano was created by Nathaniel Tighe, which honors our common European classical roots while presenting a vision of what might have been possible if the modern trumpet was a solo instrument at the time these works were conceived. Like the process of upcycling we’ve strived to create a new set of works that preserve the drama and stunning beauty of music by some of the greatest composers who ever lived while adding substantially to the repertoire of chamber music for trumpet and piano.
