Straight From The Saddle We arrived at Lost Creek Ranch the second week of June, and I'm writing this from the plane home, genuinely sad to be leaving. (One tip if you're planning a trip: fly into Jackson a day early and let your body catch up to the altitude before you hit the trails — it made all the difference.) The weather held perfectly clear the entire week, and the ranch's setting between Grand Teton National Park and the BridgerTeton National Forest means there's a real view in every direction, not just from the lodge.
The food matched the setting. Breakfast cookouts, the bison smashburger, elk ragu pappardelle, huckleberry cobbler for dessert... every meal felt considered rather than routine, and our server Sasha made sure of it.
But the trip's real center was a surprise. My boyfriend had spent three months quietly coordinating with GM Jasmin and Office Manager Declan to plan a proposal. Our wrangler, Hayden, led us to a bluff overlooking the Tetons under the pretense of taking photos and as he dropped to one knee, a photographer appeared right on cue. The team had arranged everything: the photographer, a private dinner in the Wedding Pasture, champagne waiting back at our cabin, and a staff that celebrated with us all week like they'd known us for years.
Horseback riding was the real highlight of the trip. Head wrangler Tia has a real gift for matching horse to rider!
