>There are one hundred faith points left to unlock another personalized prophecy.

A lot, thought Mate Goncer, but he had to find out the truth and thus unlock another prophetic film. Who is the messiah When will he arrive How do you get missing FP faith points?

He called The Prophets an animation that anticipated the future. Prophecies were shared with the APP for smartphone, which Mate accidentally found in the invisible part of the Internet. Invisible to index bots and regular users, but not to him. TOR was like a second his home. There he dug into the truth of a truly free media. THE APPLICATION showed movies that, as it turned out, revealed the future. Enigmatic prophecies required interpretation skills that Mate happily possessed. The animations were made using advanced realistic technique.

It's weird, but the APPLICATION had no name. The page from which he downloaded the installation file had disappeared. The task of the software was to display prophecies, count faith points and display tasks in the form of messages. Because the APP was embedded in the TOR network, it was impossible to determine who it belonged to. The program was connected with something deeply stitched into the Internet, something which had the ability to

see the future, divine omniscience. It was impossible to search for specific information on this topic, because the program had no name.

Mate Goncer did not consider himself a gullible man. He thought the APPLICATION was a joke. Then the predictions from the animations came true even after months. This phenomenon was confirmed by television and news on the Internet: Mate watched the animation first, and months later he saw these events on television. He had doubts. Is it not the mechanism of the self-fulfilling prophecy that he sought the general effects of prophecy everywhere to build a sense of being chosen? Is this not a similar mechanism of Nostradamus revelations? That could be so until Mate became a hero of the apparitions.

Why did he believe in revelations? This happened four years earlier during the recession. He was looking for work then. He was living with his uncle in Chicago and cursing his life. The morning hours passed under the sign of search ads, to be the first to provide a CV, not to drown in the top applications. – My name is Thousand, Thousand Two hundred gross, and I suffer for millions, millions of the unemployed generation — he thought, receiving the only payment.

The summer of 2012; the recession took its toll. In the morning he went to countless job interviews, still believing in the American dream. At noon he was dreaming only a nightmare, along with others camping in the park from the Occupy Wall Street movement, which set up tents there. Someone was talking

about God. And about the end of the world. He was shown the Bible. Mate was reminded that he was essentially a religious man, he just forgot about it. That's how dad raised him. That summer he sat in the park, protesting and worshiping the Lord with singing, dancing and all sorts of liquor, and it really was an inexpensive liquor. He felt like one of the crowd who was listening to Jesus in the Bible. Mate listened to the voice of a local sage from the East, a Polish guy.

He talked about the economics of the new times. About the end of capitalism.

About sharing economy, about crowdEconomy based on sharing. And he even suffered a miracle of multiplication of the joint, when a bearded hippie with long hair mixed what is good and pure with bad tobacco, that it would suffice for everyone, dividing his plot into two and then into four. It is a miracle to multiply soul food! And so Mate almost brushed from belonging to one of the worshiping sects, and maybe even having access to prophetic animations, would become their guru? Mate decided that he was completely immune to psychological manipulation, so he moved away from the group when he sobered up.

It was in the evenings, sending CVs was in the morning. Subway. One job interview, xerox point, CV, phone, meeting. Subway. Xerox. He stood over the scanner that had lit his face a hundred times. And although he wanted so much to change in him, it was a hundred copies of his biographies spit out of the machine. Subway.

He read adverts like tarot cards, because he would probably have to sell his soul to find employment during a recession. Each of them, like an advertisement of a new life, one from colorful newspapers, one that they will never get. Once he was a successful PR specialist, an archivist with a microscopic apartment, ulcers on his stomach and ass, and a huge loan to pay off, and he is an account manager stressful to set sales standards. He prepared himself for conversations with his whole life, imagining an alternative life.

Subway. Passengers don’t leave the carriages in the morning. Every station, they pour onto the platform and create a mixed liquid of the same consistency in which they lose their diversity. It has a bland color, reminiscent of snowing of a television tuned to a non-existent channel. Only they are not looking for the right reception frequency. Connected to the collective, they broadcast in the ether. And no matter who the recipient is. Everyone is writing something. Like those dogs waiting for their smartphone to whistle. When they are happy, they lift sweaty necks, turn their ears, change their paws on the glass sheets, as if they were digging a mink to hide. They wag their tails and watch what fun they invite them this time. And dogs don't know many tricks.

A wave of exciting cold flooded him, a feeling of communing with something out of this world. Mate has a revelation on the smartphone screen. That day he stood in the crowd so that he could barely see anything. In the stream of travelers poured with them at another station.

THE APPLICATION showed the future as if from colorful job offers. Is it even possible? Sleepy, enigmatic and unreal animation. Mateusz will have a conversation with a recruiter who will prove to be a hockey lover and the same team, so he prepared himself for the conversation mainly in this subject area. The caller will be Jonathan Kenwood. What was his surprise when three days later he was invited to a company revealed by Prophet, whose headquarters was in the building, seen earlier in the film.

His legs buckled, not so much from looking at the glass building, whose height did not seem to end, and its top brushing the clouds, but rather from the strong feeling of deja vu. He stood in front of the building, which had appeared to him a few days earlier in Prophet. What the hell? He hadn’t answered the phone with the invitation until today.

– If a man with a red umbrella passes me, I doubt my senses, he thought as

he walked slowly toward the office building. He looked around carefully. He felt cold. The guy was here. And for some reason he had a red umbrella. It was hot!

The reality around him seemed sleepy. Matthew saw her through the prism of prophecy. He saw the revelations in every detail: in the people he passed, in

the weather, in parked cars. He was surrounded by a prophetic force that had shown him much earlier what he had seen now. He touched the marble walls in the lobby of the office building, as if trying to assess if it was drawn. Perhaps it is the animation that surrounded him. The walls were really hard though. And really cold. What are the senses?

– Please come in, my name is... — Kenwood, thought Goncer, and he heard the name. Mate felt uncomfortable, squeezing the hand of a man whose animated face he had seen a few days earlier on Prophet. The job interview went smoothly, as if Mate wrote the questions himself. Using the knowledge of the future, he directed the conversation so as to hook on common interests. After all, the APPLICATION gave him a ready script in the form of an animation showing what to talk with Kenwood to make it good. The film showed Mate not only an outline of recruitment questions, but also the near future in the form of corporate life, which he had dreamed of for so long. And about those things his father had talked about — the first of Goncers in the USA. The Vedas, little Mate, did not yet understand the vision of the American dream that his father had.

And now it was included in Prophetics and was the same as dad's words. There was big business and big money, benefit cards, employee privileges... When signing the contract with the employer, Mate believed in the prophetic force that found him.

And the guest who conducted the interview, as well as its course. Even this weird guy with a red umbrella. Mate Goncer had no doubts. The prophets are real. The application has confirmed this: > Congratulations. You’ve become a man of faith. One of the few to whom the future was revealed. Do you want to see more?

He wanted to see everything, but the apparitions cost points of faith, which was symbolized by the blue liquid in the bottle displayed in the app interface. It's not important. From that moment strange things began to happen, and Mate Goncer, having all his life as a logical man, believed in predestination. Fate favored him. And happiness was saved to him. He could do anything with the mysterious ally. He led him by the hand through the dark valley of the darkness of the future and Mate did not feel fear because the guardian angel was with him. Soon the APPLICATION showed him a candidate for a wife, revealing the future with the chosen one, and even how to reach this future — how to pick up a girl. Soon Eva Anders became the mother of his children. > Mate, doesn't knowledge kill faith? Can you believe knowing? I really take away 100FP from you. If you sin again, you will deny me again, truly I will deny you, I will forget your name and curse you, your sons and future generations until all times. As penance and reparation, you must make a donation to a charity called Voice of the Lord.

Goncer was sweating. God's anger reached him. Such a message appeared when Mate doubted and sought knowledge on the Internet. He wanted to know more about the APPLICATION. He didn't do it like an amateur: another computer, TOR network. In vain. Anyway, entering the password, application, future, prophecies, points of faith did not give any specific results. He decided not to doubt, because it is known that knowledge is the fruit of knowledge that the serpent gave Eve. Knowledge kills faith, meanwhile, with success, it grew in it.

Mate — the first of the Goncers born in America. His dad, Jacob Goncer, came to Chicago with his wife in the eighties. He devoted most of his life to the good life of the Goncer. He learned the language, worked hard, but his future in America did not last long. He died in the early nineties, when his son was only nine years old. Then my mother left. At the age of twenty-eight, Mate Goncer decided that after the misfortune the American dream came true. He got a good job during this damn recession. He had a wife who raised his two children. And most importantly, that this dream has already been dreamed and from time to time whispered new solutions, showing the future.

A conflicting situation at work? For 500FP, the APPLICATION showed opponents' weak points, their negotiation strategy, their plans. Educational problems? The prophet was a prescription. Eva Anders got interested in Paul,

a family friend? Mateusz reacted in advance thanks to a revelation. Paul was no longer a friend of Goncers.

Another animated film showed the nursery and Adam — a friend of Mate's son. And his father, who hurriedly picked up the child. On a sleepy enigmatic prophecy, a vision of Mate’s working for him appeared. All you have to do is talk to him about the subject shown in the animation at the right time. Mate did as the APPLICATION commanded him. It turned out that Adam's father was just looking for an employee. Another prophecy came true, Mate got a much higher salary. Life had become simple!

Of course, the faith points had to be supplemented: with cash or obeying God's will. > Mateusz, you are now a wealthy man and you will be giving me part of your salary. This part will be used to spread faith. Specify what percentage you want to transfer…

The quote had to refer to Mate's hard work and the bonus he received.

Undoubtedly, God was with him. For some reason, quotes from the Holy Bible fit perfectly into Goncer's life, his dilemmas, and the important choices he faced.

Faith in God grew in Mate with successive successes > "Do you want to experience the grace of a miracle of multiplying bread?"

He wanted a miracle. He wanted everything that was a miracle and was called a miracle. He wanted bread. Fish. He wanted to eat it for free, as there was a crowd who listened to the voice of the Lord on a hill or by the lake, which Matthew did not remember. A few days later he had a revelation. Another quote from the Bible, and then Prophetics suggested to buy diGoldy, which is one of the new digital currencies that were similar to BitCoins. Currently worth as much as nothing. Mate had no doubt that this is the only correct interpretation of Prophetics. And diGolds bought millions. In half a year he earned 50%. Then he thought it was his bread. Mate looked into the book of Prophets, in which he had been recording information about the Messiah for years and collecting evidence from the future. "The Messiah was building New York." "The Messiah will protect America from threats from the South." "A great dam on a great river will protect America from flooding. The Messiah will build it. After all, the details from the animated Prophetics matched. This is how the Messiah's return will be announced by the scriptures, announced by the Prophetics, and also in the writings of the Apocalypse of Saint John.

Through the mission, Mate forgot that elections would be held in the USA soon. And even, as the first Goncer, had the right to vote. Until now, he did not care about politics and did not plan to vote. Now he knew that the Messiah needed the voice of people of faith, but wasn't his Savior against immigrants like Mate’s father? He was, but Mate Goncer is no longer an emigrant. He is a US citizen. Legal citizen.

Another animation. Goncer wiped his eyes in amazement. In the film, next to the Messiah, stood his dad, who died many years ago. And now he was in the clouds, and his animated character smiled and moved. The facial expression seemed to say that it would be good that they would meet together in that world one day. The animation reminded that Goncer's dad was a Solidarity activist, that he fought for a democratic right to choose long ago in Poland that he was a man of faith. And now his son had the right to choose overseas. The right to free choice! Dad would be proud. His son can choose the president of the most powerful country on Earth!

Mate was moved and with tears of happiness. He smiled at the animation displayed on the smartphone. It lasted a split second, or maybe he wanted to see it: Dad looked deep into his son's eyes and smiled back. This piercing eye contact made the man feel a cold chill. And the warm touch of a father's hand from that world.

Mate Goncer lived in a different information bubble, which is why he did not hear the voices of other media. Yes, he realized that someone after the election had said about a huge scandal in the Cambridge analytical company. About great manipulation. They lied. Everyone lied as usual, Goncer said.

Therefore, he did not read, or perhaps denied, the fact that the company used user behavior patterns and big data to generate personalized content on an unprecedented scale, which were primarily animated films rendered in real time based on behavioral analysis of users and data analyzed by SI algorithms.

Confidential information was stolen from users of the APPLICATION and from various institutions, and then analyzed and rendered in the form of prophecies.

A camouflaged campaign in the US presidential election has been carried out for five years, on the occasion of which apartments, loans, services and luxury goods were sold, or virtual currency diGold, whose course collapsed at the end of 2017 as a financial pyramid, and the money evaporated. That his future was hacked? This is ridiculous! He thought, waving a red umbrella in front of the bank. He'll get 15FP for it. Mate was fired. The bank took the house and the car. The American dream has become a nightmare. He was looking for a job again.

“Where are we going?” He asked as she opened the driver's door.

“Wherever you want. Today you decide.” She smiled indulgently. “Get in.

From the other side,” she prompted.

He lowered his head and obediently walked around May’s SUV. She waited with well-concealed tension to see if her companion could cope with taking a seat in the vehicle, but fortunately he found a door handle without a problem.

Only then did she sit on the driver's seat. Mark followed rather stiffly and carefully copied her movement as she closed the car door.

“Why in this?” He looked wistfully at the dilapidated pick-up parked next to him. “Can't we take that?”

“We can't take someone else's car.” May put on her sunglasses, started the engine, and as the car rolled out of the parking lot outside the institute, she asked: “And what's wrong with mine?”

“He has no past, he replied, choosing his words carefully.

“It's not new, if that's what you mean. Anyway, everything has a past.”

“Except for me”, he noted, and May seemed to feel regret in his words.

“Don’t worry about it.” She nodded to the familiar security guard in the gatehouse. While they were waiting for the gate to open, she changed the subject: “What would you like to see?”

The passenger pondered even more. Although they left the base on the shores of a dry lake, he remained silent. May thought he was hanging up, because he stared as hypnotized at the desert landscape cut by the gray thread of the highway behind the windshield.

“Mark?” She urged him.

“I ‘m analyzing the available options” he replied.

“And what do these analyses indicate?” She asked mockingly.

“To Badwater Springs.“ She frowned.

“To what?” She uttered.

He hurried to explain, as if he thought she simply didn't understand.

“Okay,” she murmured, wondering why Mark, having the opportunity to explore what was left of the world's gambling capital, is choosing some boring town along the way. “So be it.”

On the other hand, maybe it was better, she considered. It is less likely that something unforeseen will happen in a boring place, and although that was what the whole trip was about, May preferred to avoid trouble. She turned up the volume on the radio, because Mark's silence began to bother her. The passenger, wide-eyed, absorbed the monotony of the landscape, a varied mosaic of abandoned settlements and almost extinct small towns. She did not think that the companion listened to the sounds coming from the loudspeaker, but when he suddenly revived during the weather forecast, she changed her mind. She heard the dust storm warning in the late evening, watching her companion out of the corner of her eye.

“They predict the future” Mark spoke for the first time in a long time.

“Yes, our best weather seers. Every day they look at the glass balls to predict the weather for a place where thirty years ago it stopped raining” she said with a sneer, not thinking that the mentee might not catch the irony in her words.

“What do you want to see in Badwater Springs?”

“A parking lot for mobile homes - Gretta’s Mobile Home Park” the answer was given.

May grunted in surprise. She didn't expect that.

“Why exactly?” She asked, passing a truck.

“Because there is a woman there” he replied.

“Oh, and it's probably not one!” May barely suppressed a laugh. It was still missing that she became a witness of the ward's tryst with some unimpressed woman. “Do you know her?”

“No. “Than why...” she started and paused to curse loudly, as the pickup truck braked in front of them to stop at the last moment on the side road. “How do you know about her?”

“From Mrs. Lechacz.”

Instinctively, she raised her eyebrows. What common topics could he have with one of the senior employees of the institutes cleaning team? This secret was not as intriguing to May as the fact that she had no idea about these contacts so far.

“Are you in contact with Mrs. Lechacz?”

“About what exactly?”

“About life. Your lives are very interesting.”

Like hell, May thought, especially the life of Barbara Lechacz, but she didn't ask for anything else until Badwater Springs. The village turned out to be a mosaic of empty stops for houses on wheels; normal buildings in this city were a minority in a deplorable condition, as if it was planned to leave them as soon as the last mobile apartment left.

“Well, I wonder how you’ll find her” May sneered when they reached Gretta’s Mobile Home Park, showing with her head the mobile shacks of different sizes and colors. “It's a bit left here.”

“I’ll ask the manager” Mark replied and got out of the car without waiting for the guardian.

“You're making up, dude, “May murmured, and watched the pupil approach the nearest shack, disappear for a moment, and reappear in the company of a squat guy with Indian features.

She slammed the car door and walked over to the men as the manager pointed at one of the mobile homes in the back with a thick finger. Mark thanked him and, without looking at the guardian, moved in the direction indicated. The Mega*Zine Lost&Found #27/2020

Indian gave May an inquisitive look and was about to return to his place, but she stopped him with a question: “Who was he asking about?”

A puzzled expression of surprise crossed the manager's face.

“About Gina. You both came to her, didn't you?”

“He came to her, not me, “May corrected. “Who is this one?”

The Indian shrugged.

“A Fortuneteller.” Seeing May open her eyes wide, he added: “Cards, lines on the hand and stuff. Show her a photo and she will tell you your fate or find the missing person. I don't believe it, but it even works.”

“Oh shit,” May said and, without thanking for the information, she quickly followed the pupil, cursing Lechacz’s and all the superstitions of this world.

“Mark, wait!”

She couldn't stop him. He didn't even look back, though he must have heard the call. Embarrassed, she ran up and thumped on Gina's door. An obese, white woman of about sixty, hiding an excess of the body under a baggy dress in bright opened the door in serpentine patterns.

“I accept one by one!” She hissed and slammed the door with a flourish.

Staring at the dust covering her sneakers, she cursed the professor and his idea of letting the protégés into the world. She would probably prefer Mark to have a brothel drive; she would have less remorse.

“Is something wrong with your friend?”

She raised her head slowly. The manager looked down at her, wiping sweat from his forehead with a plump, hairy forearm. Pensive, she did not notice his arrival.

“No, she answered reluctantly and, as it seemed, extremely dry. “Apart from going to the fortuneteller, he's alright.”

The guy did not give up, since he already got out of the office in such heat.

“Stroke? Such a young guy?” The manager became serious at once. “Lousy times.”

He shook his head in disbelief. May, just in case, went the other way, taking a nervous walk back and forth along the cracked asphalt along a row of wheeled houses, regardless of the heat pouring from the sky. What did Lehcacz tell Mark? And where did he get the money from? She imagined how the pupil sits rigidly at a rickety table, and how a fat woman unfolds cards in front of him, trying to read the emotion of the face of an unusual client at any cost to read some emotion that will give sense to an accidental hand. I wonder if Gina is a good fortuneteller. If she bodes from his hand, she will immediately see who he is, or rather who she is not dealing with. And if she really knows her business, then…

“She won't let the customer out of her hands,” May said loudly, crushing the empty bottle in her hands. “And she’ll put putty on him.”

“You don’t say!” May grabbed his elbow and forced him to follow her. “You know what? After all I have to drink.”

“Alcohol?” He asked and recalled: “We were passing a bar.”

“Water.” She sighed ostentatiously. “I'm gonna melt.”

“At thirty-three degrees in the shade, you're more likely to have a stroke.”

May released his elbow.

“That's right” she muttered. “To the car, Mark.”

They backed away a block and parked in front of the kennel housing of the unnamed bar. Inside, they found several empty tables, a jumble of chairs, a daub pretending to be Indian handicrafts on the walls, inefficient air conditioning, and a jamming vending machine with fastfood drinks. They sat cautiously away from the kitchen, by the door. After placing the order, tired May turned to Mark sideways and stared at the windows, sipping a sugarless cola with a strange taste without a word.

“Are you mad at me,” Mark broke the silence.

She went silent for a moment.

“Not really” she finally said. “Rather with myself. I should not agree to this.”

“But you said I could choose. So I chose.”

She turned and looked into the companion’s honest face. Goddamn it, she thought, he can't be dishonest. We didn't teach him to lie, neither should I. “You see, she said reluctantly. “It's not like that. I... I have to give a thorough report on our trip. Nobody told you that, but what you chose, how you behaved off-base depends whether you fly or not. What have you all chosen, because such a trip will take place, or each of you has already taken it. The woman raised her eyebrows a bit and for longer than she should, she looked at the visitor, apparently surprised by the natural sound of his voice.

“And for you nothing, are you sure?” She asked.

“Thank you, I'm on a diet “he quoted the excuse of his caretaker from a moment ago. “But a cup of water, please.

“Why do you need this water?” May asked as the waitress disappeared into the kitchen.

“My problems are not ‘all the same’” he noted. “It can't work as you say.”

May stopped the fork halfway to her mouth, taking the usual statement for malice.

“Will you let me eat?” She said irritably. “And think?”

He nodded. He smiled at the waitress, thanking her for the water. The woman looked at him again curiously, but not as a man worthy of lust, but rather as at someone dressed in a quilted jacket in the current heat. May knew what was going on and what was beginning to bother her now: a man would scratch his ear, tapping the rhythm of the song in the background with his fingers, or comfortably stretch his legs in a long seat. Mark just sat and stared as she eats, this time he even ignored the local radio weather forecast with another announcement of the dust storm. Where he was supposed to go, these involuntary human reflexes were not needed, so none of the designers wasted time equipping them, like common entertainment androids, more or less successfully imitating people.

“I know,” she said finally, reaching for a cup of water. “We'll start again. We Mega*Zine Lost&Found #27/2020

forget about the fortuneteller, I will not mention it to anyone. We're going to Vegas, you'll see the largest ghost town in the world and you'll be delighted, do you hear me? And when you return, you will tell the professor how a visit to this pathetic place made you think deeply and inspired you to look for a new home for humanity. And you can go on this damn mission, Mark, because I'm not going to lose the bonus because of you. Do you understand?”

“Okay,” he said after a moment of hesitation.

She finished the rest of the water and rose from the couch.

“Okay,” she said. “And now I'm going to the bathroom and you'll wait for me to come back.”

“Okay,” he repeated.

When she pushed the toilet door, it occurred to her that the pupil, however, knew how to lie like he was lying to the waitress, but that this model was not equipped with the option of“ passing the truth”, she did not care too much. Even when she came out of the bathroom and saw Mark's empty place, she decided that, to avoid the inquisitive waitress's questions, he’d moved to the car.

“Where's my friend?” She asked, pouring another portion of fake cola.

“He thanked me and left,” The Metys woman replied. “He said you’d pay.”

Embarrassed, she returned to the restaurant and looked into the men's toilet, then, notwithstanding the protests of the waitress and the curse of the cook, she ran into the back room, but the pupil seemed to dissolve in the air. It wasn't until she was asked in swear words to leave the bar, with shaken hands she reached for her smartphone and, holding her breath, launched the locating application. She took a deep breath: Mark hadn’t gone far. A red tear pointed to Gretta's Mobile Home Park. She had no idea what for, but he seemed to have returned to the fortune teller on foot.

With a complaint sure, she muttered under her nose, turning the key in the oldfashioned ignition.

Raising a cloud of dust, she stopped in front of Gina's mobile home.

Impetuously, she jumped two steps and banged her fist on the door. The fairy lifted them but did not undo the chain.

“What?” she snapped, sending a furious glance of one eye through the gap in her direction.

May took a breath.

“Let him out,” she demanded.

“For what?” The eye took on a truly surprised expression. “Who has to go out?”

“You do not know? What kind of fortuneteller are you?”

Gina slammed the door and did not open it, even though the intruder knocked on it once, twice and even three times.

“I'm calling the cops!” The fortuneteller bellowed from inside.

“Great!” May shouted back. “I’ll report them the misappropriation of government property!”

Having achieved nothing, she ran down the stairs and began to circle the house and climbing on her fingers, look into the windows for racing with Gina, closing the curtains. She did not notice Mark, but she did not give up. The escapee could have crouched on the floor in a position where, when deactivated, he was to take a forty-year flight to a substitute for Earth. She returned to the car and, leaning her hip against the bonnet in a place where she had a good view of Gina's door, again checked Mark's location, but the app invariably indicated that the mentee was a few steps away. After all, damn it, Mark has to go out someday, after all, to the cramped one, she can't dare to ridicule in front of her friends that much. Unable to bear the heat from the sky, she returned to the car. “Man, are you staring at the window all the time?” She sneered.

“Almost. “He shook his head and then nodded. “Although practically so.”

“And I think you agreed with this witch. I can't move a step without Mark”.

“I'm calling the sheriff,” he announced.

“She was supposed to do it twenty minutes ago” May snorted.

“We don't have our own. He’s forty minutes away, so he’ll be here soon, assuming he came right after the call.” The manager waved a finger and left.

“Please behave, okay?”

May behaved for the next half hour, struggling to ram Gina's kennel with her car. She did not do it with fatigue, but following good advice, she did not believe that the fortune teller had actually called the police. Before the sheriff's deputy from Beatta arrived, she drank all the water and almost depleted the car's links.

She got out as soon as she saw the police car turning into the square, surprised to find that Gina had called the cops. The insolent woman was stubborn or maybe... Maybe it was a bad sign.

Stepping from foot to foot, she watched the cop talk to the manager, then returned to the vehicle and slowly rolled toward her.

“You’re a scientist from Groom Lake,” the deputy sheriff noticed when the QR code scan from the smartphone of May was displayed on the work pad.

She confirmed, showed Mark's locating application and described the whole event, gesturing nervously. The officer, though young, had little energy. He kept his face as stony as if he got such reports everyday, or he belonged to the Mark-9 series himself.

“What does this robot look like? “He finally asked.

The cop's phlegmatic acting irritated no less than the whole situation.

“Like an average white man in his thirties,” May said.

“Maybe something more?”

“Do you recall the first people who walked on Mars?”

“No.” “I thought so.” She grimaced and sank her eyes on her smartphone, searching for the right photo on the network, then put the display under the cop's nose. “Oh, this one. He looks like that.”

“Okay,” he replied, the way Mark used to agree. “Please wait in the car.” He started toward Gina's door, but when he set foot first, he stopped suddenly and turned his head, asking: “Do you have the rest of that crew too?”

“Not only that, she replied mockingly. “We also have the rest of the Martian crews, the ground crew doubles from that period and a copy of the first dog that flew to the Red Planet.

“I’m not surprised somebody finally run away” he murmured and knocked on Gina's door.

“Open the divination room next to Gina, asshole!”

She dropped the smartphone on the passenger seat and rested her forehead on the steering wheel. She didn't have to be clairvoyant to know that she would not only not earn the bonus, but would be the laughing stock of the entire institute. She did not have to wait for the military helicopter with Sanders' people as long as for the deputy sheriff. She bravely endured the lieutenant's malice, watching with satisfaction how his people were rummaging Gina's kennel, almost breaking it down, and the pacified fortune teller herself, red with rage, mumbling something under her nose, probably casting charms on the soldiers. “Someone turned off his locator and connected the signature to this device.

Someone but not me.”

“It will turn out,” the soldier muttered, hiding the key ring in his hand before May could touch it. “So when did this guy evaporate?”

“About three hours ago, she replied, glancing at her watch at the screen of the smartphone.”

“Yeah.” Sanders pouted. “This artificial dodger has three hours of advantage over us, the inactive locator and a storm on his side that will fucking slow us down. How do I know where the bastard has gone?”

“Ask this woman” May nodded at mumbling Gina, who was led by two soldiers back to her mobile apartment “you’ll find out.”

I don't know how long I stayed in such an awkward posture. Leaning over

a textbook on anatomy, or maybe Grochowiak's poetry, I steadfastly ignored the pain that slammed into my bones. As it later turned out, it wasn't just those on the back. A colorful cube standing on my desk, as well as a white one with twenty-one eyes... both wanted to fix it all. In addition to words in the wind, I also cast my own bones*. The tibia, the temple, the sternum. The ribs had lost their value a long time ago, they had nothing to protect, so I got rid of all twelve pairs last summer and never regretted it. I remember how they were cracking under the weight of the train in which she was going at the sea.

These new ones (they grew up just after the sale of the last pair of her glass

pants) also ceased to please me anymore. I'm not sauntering anymore.

Sometimes I just get up from an armchair to go to the window, light a cigarette andstare at people a little. Sometimes I also shake my hand to throw a dice instead of a coin. Fate, that little whore, always surprises me: I cast the die, add and subtract the number of black dots, and thus choose to eat toast with cucumber or an egg for dinner but she never gives me what I want. thing is that I never have the ingredients. Because who eats three-glass wine soup with eight grains of rice? I don't even know how it tastes, so far I didn't want to boil water specially for a few white grains, so I usually just open the bottle and down it. However, what a relief it was when a sour fugitive climbed the stairs to my flat with the sunrise. Coincidence is both my Arch Enemy and my Friend at the same time. They walk together with Fate right under my balcony; there’s a rumor that they have a board in our basement, right at the very end, in a narrow cell with purple walls. And I can believe it, although I still don't know why I always lose this unpopular block in polka dots before leaving home.

*Comment form translator: In Polish there are two word games — the first describes situation when someone is not trustworthy. The second is about risking everything but the dice in Polish has another meaning — a bone. This part of text refers to both of those sayings, is artistic compilation of them.

Unfortunately it is untranslatable without changing the meaning dramatically.

Mega*Zine Lost&Found #27/2020 PROPHECY [out]RODUCTION Strange time has come. I can't say I didn't expect it. I am not saying that I predicted such events either... So the Lost formula is changing slightly again. This time I gave up photos, I put on works that are suitable for infinite predictions and prophecies. This issue is dominated by Piotr Pasiewicz's works that will allow you to play guesses. Apart from them, there were futuristic paintings by Daria Solar and masks by Marcin Urzędowicz, who is creating masks under the PREPOSTEVOLUTION project. The issue was completed by poetry and three stories.

I planned interviews and an article for you, but I finally came to the conclusion that the worth of these materials to everyone „AFTER", may be negligible. The world will change — we can be sure of that.

You will meet the next issue in the autumn. Materials should be sent now... We don't know what awaits us...
